Please avoid. Older guy did my gel manicure, and managed to cut three of my fingers by the cuticle. Also did not properly clean or sterilize the tools. When using a tool to remove dead skin, he used the exact same paper towel to "wipe it" before AND after using it on me, just to put it away after without cleaning it further. The towel that was laid on the table already had debris on it before he even started my service. I went to pay, and he basically demanded a tip from me before I could even make the payment. I then noticed that a corner of one of my nails was sharp and not filed properly, so I went back to ask him to file it down. He made me file it myself. I left without complaining, and wasn't planning on saying anything until I realized that one of the fingers that had an open cut from him became visibly infected after a day or two. I went back to discuss the possibility of a refund, or partial refund. He immediately became defensive, and told me that I was at fault for not saying something earlier. I had to explain to him that an infection wouldn't be visible immediately, so I had no way of knowing. I brought up that I had to get prescribed antibiotics (and I had the proof with me), and he then accused me of faking the entire thing for a refund, like I cut my own fingers. He also told me that no one has ever had a similar experience to what I was describing and that he properly sanitizes everything, despite many reviews saying otherwise. He went back and forth between accusing me of faking my injury, and claiming that my fingers already had cuts before the manicure. As I continued to try to reason with him, he called me "difficult", and brought up that I came back to get a nail fixed right after my service, even though as I said, I was made to fix it myself. Super disrespectful, and was completely accusatory the entire time, instead of listening to my concerns or apologizing. This salon, besides leaving you with the ugliest nails possible, is clearly a public safety hazard. I would strongly advise everyone to avoid it. read more

Because I always make an appointment right after my last appointment. They are busy and sometimes short staffed like today. Made an apt for Pedi n Mani. The quality was good and I was happy with the service and the final results. I have natural nails and I brought my own polish. Some places don't let you bring your own polish. I use the Ella n Mila polish system. Nail Tech Sandra did both my pedi n mani. She was very nice and did an awesome job. The gentleman who did my nails filled them and they WERE coffin shape I asked him if he could cut them down slightly and keep the shape, he was confident he could. My nails are all different shapes, some coffin and some square. I then picked out a color and it was clearly "to light" for him to work with. Not a bad place to get an acrylic set. Got an almond shaped French tip and it's gorgeous. I payed $50. But the attitude of the workers is ridiculous. They're not polite and don't even act like they care. Been back here maybe 3 times for fill ins and new sets. It really depends on who you get to do your acrylic sets. -First time the almond tip set done by the young guy in the baseball cap was amazing. -Came in for a full in and polish change, the younger girl did them. They were amazing. -Came in for another fill and the older lady did them. Horrendous!!!! -Just recently went in for a new set, the old man did them. Horrible. Went for a quick gel polish. The fellow I had quickly convinced me I needed a manicure (like they always do). While trimming my cuticle, he also trimmed a decent sized piece of my skin as well. When it started bleeding, he took his bare hands and dabbed it with a paper towel. When it continued to bleed, he glued it with nail glue. He did apologize. Finishes painting my nails, tells me I owe him $40 and proceeds to ask me if I'd like to give him a tip. Um sir, my tip to you is to pay more attention to what your doing! Honestly I went to this place because Sassy Images was booked and I didn't feel like sitting for their 2 hour pedicure anyways. I think this place has gotten a lot better. They have Essie and OPI nail polish (which I feel like sometimes dictates the quality of the nail salon if they have quality polish). Everything was clean and it was pretty quick. The place is a little funky with clutter and boxes throughout but my pedicure was great and lasted a long time which is the best part about a good pedicure. And the lady did not really massage which is something I was used to going to places in DC. And I thought it was a little pricey at 27$ for the pedicure. So with a little bit more improvement I think this could be a great spot. read more

Make sure you speak to the "manager" if you have any issues because apparently, stating your grievances to any other employee makes it untrue. Ann spent over three hours on my pedi and mani. I got the full deal with shellac, nail designs on the big toes and a couple rhinestones. I thought she did an excellent job. Place was clean and she used clean tools. She spent quite some time making sure my feet were as smooth as a baby's bottom. I thought the price was very reasonable, as well, for all that I purchased. So, I am not one to write a bad review or talk ill of any establishment. I live in a small area in upstate ny so a decent pedicure place is hard to come by. My usual go to in plattsburgh, ny was booked so I tried the place in the mall. I live about an hour away so it was definitely an all day adventure. Well....it was not great. I'm on my feet all day at work so obviously I enjoy a little pampering. Nope, nothing, lotion on the legs that's all. Feet go back in the water after the lotion. Polish goes on, fine, 3 times the guy polished the big toe, why, I will never know. Sat and waited for the polish to dry under the dryer. 20+ minutes pass, I should be dry right??? No !! Put my shoes on and the whole big toe on both feet ruined! 20 minutes is a sufficient time for nails to completely dry, it may of been longer, I was waited for my mother to finish up with hers. So I went there to get a set of acrylic nails, and if you love to be overcharged then this is the place for you. It was $65 for a set of acrylic nails, when anywhere else such as a-plus nails and spa is around $35. Also, I had a problem with the way an employee was acting toward a customer. There was an elderly woman who was walking around with a cane, and she was literally getting laughed at by one of the employees. The employee was looking at her when her back was turned and speaking in her language that they speak. She was literally looking at her and laughing at her at the same time, and it was blatantly obvious she was making fun of her and not having a different conversation with another employee. The man that was servicing me overall was fine. But at the end he told me it was going to be $55, but then magically changed it to $65 and then I had to pay a tip as well so overall it came up to $75 just for nails. I was pretty disgusted with how much money that is considering you can get it for literally half the price at just about anywhere else. My nails came out OK, but nothing spectacular. Overall, I honestly wouldn't go here again unless I was desperate. There are plenty of other places in town where you'll be respected and get great nails service and you won't have to be paying an arm and a leg. No, no, no! Do NOT get "gel" nails applied or filled. Reason being because they apparently do not have the proper gel and instead use powder with no UV light. Anyone who gets their nails done semi-regularly should know the gel-tip application process. When I asked him (i'm assuming the owner) if he was SURE that he was giving me a full-gel set, he told me yes. I was skeptical, and when I had my nails redone at a different salon shortly thereafter, the lady explained to me that there was no way he had used gel for the set, it was clear they were acrylic. Basically, not only did this guy do a horrible job on my nails, but he cut corners then LIED to me when I called him out, ultimately charging me $65 for a horrible gel set that I had taken off and redone at a much more reputable salon less than a week later. If I could give this place negative stars I would! I came here years ago and had a horrible experience and never went back. Recently my daughter wanted to go do our nails for my birthday and everyone else was booked so we decided to give this place a try again. NEVER will we return here and we will tell everyone we know how horrible they are! My daughter got acrylics which was $28 on the price sign, I got gels which were $45. By the time we got up to pay they had charged us $95!!! They were rude, rough and did a horrible job. My daughters nails were cut so short and filed uneven, the young man that did her nails was upset that his boss told him to get off his phone and take the next customer and he took it out on her yanking on her fingers and speaking nastily to her. He went so fast it only took him 14 minutes to do her full set(I timed it). Mine were filed lopsided and were lumpy looking not to mention the hair that was hardened into my gel and looked gross. My friend and I decided to give this place a go recently, being that it was the only nail salon we could find open on a Sunday in the area. We were both getting a full set of acrylic nails applied. Our experience started with a pretty long wait. The nail colors were pretty limited, and many of the bottles looked sort of sketchy. We should have turned around and waited, but both desperately needed our nails done. Initially we were both satisfied by the work being done by the two individuals doing our nails, they were gentle and kind. As the process went on, I asked for square tips and he asked how long, I showed him how long I like my nails to be and he said "no, you need short" I replied by kindly stating that I like them a little bit longer than what he was suggestion and he shook his head and said no and cut the short. They are basically so short that there is no reason to have acrylic nails. After applying the tips, before painting, he asked me to pay so I would not mess up my nails while paying after, this seemed reasonable. So I did and he asked if I wanted a tip applied to the card, I replied with yes and the amount, which was a quite generous tip. He then proceeded to paint my nails, it was probably the worst paint job I have ever received, there was a large gap on both sides of my nail with no paint. I asked if he could paint the area he missed and he told me that it was done right. As for my friend, she asked for a rounded tip, the woman told her that would be extra money, she said okay. My friend suggested that the tips be "almond shape" since the woman couldn't seem to understand what this meant. During this time, the gentlemen doing my nails and the woman doing hers were making fun of how she asked for her nails to be done. It was very irritating. There were also women getting pedicures during this time and the employee was making fun of the persons toes as she was doing her nails. I found this to be extremely rude. I would never return here and I would not recommend this place to anyone!!! read more
