Really bad experience! I was overcharged $50 per the anc or powder. Not satisfied with the work. I ended up with a very scratchy nails. Not good and super expensive. Will not come back. My nails were a mess and bumpy. read more

I just had the worst retail / service experience ever. I left half way through getting acrylics. The manicurist brushed on the acrylic very think snd then did not want to shape the nails in a rounded manner. She got upset with me when I told her they were not right. Her husband then came over and spoke sternly to her, which did not help. I got up and offered to pay for what was already done. He wouldn't take any money and insisted I stay. He was worried I would go to another salon and show them/ complain about their work - he actually said this. When I left I saw him at the window of the shop taking a picture of my car. I walked back in and suggested we call the police. He declined and deleted the picture when I insisted. So now I'm sitting at home with misshaped nails that have separated from the nail bed. Who knows when I'll have time to get this fixed. Take this as a cautionary tale and avoid this place. No longer a mystery why the place was empty when I walked in at 4:00. read more

I go here for gel manicures regularly. Every time I go the couple who run the salon are always friendly and the salon is very clean. The prices are great and the polish lasts me 3 weeks without chipping. I have also gotten a pedicure here as well and was pleased with the results! read more

This place Is horrible!!! I came in for a pedicure for me and my friend, $27 per pedi and in mid-pedi they said if we wanted the dead skin removed it was an extra $8!!!! No foot or leg massage during the pedi and black stuff in the paint on my toenails. As a result I decided against a manicure and the male who works here became offended and started speaking ???? I was in this town for work and really needed a pedicure. I tried another salon which was too busy to squeeze me in so I decided to try this place. I had read the reviews and was worried. This place needs to be given some credit since I did not experience any negatives during my time there! I was taken immediately, no wait. Good color selection. I payed $27 for the regular pedicure; which I thought was a good deal for upstate (I'm from LI). I received 3 different foot scrubbers for adequate time. Quick leg "massage" was given. The male nail tech did a great job and I was able to leave without any smudges or issues. Everyone was polite and i was able to watch the news on the tv. I would definitely return to this nail salon and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

I don't know why there's so many bad reviews. The 2 people working were very kind and the lady who did my acrylics was super sweet and took her time my nails turned out beautiful. Very clean and modern not over priced definitely recommend and will be going back. read more

The salon itself is nice especially the pedicure chairs. The younger woman and male are very friendly. They did a really nice job especially with my eyebrow wax. The mani pedi though was a little expensive for me. I'm use to paying $23 and its $39 here. The eyebrow was on the other hand was normal price for me ($8). They didn't do anything special so I'm hoping the polish night just stays on longer. My nails look amazing. I will definitely go back for an eyebrow wax, nails I'm going to search around and see if I can find anything cheaper first. read more

I went there for a pedicure. I got the regular pedicure for 27, I noticed they did have a deluxe for about 40. The salon was clean and everyone seemed friendly. It started off nice but I noticed how they do pedicures here is not what I am used to. I go manly for pedicures to have my feet scrubbed and my calluses taken care of. They only used the pumice stone by about 40 seconds on each foot. Not enough to actually do anything so the bottom of my feet look the same. I also didn't get a leg massage. When it was time to start painting my nails they didn't put my flip flops on. I sat there for about 5 minutes after she had finished my toes. She then gave me a massage but it was only about 1 minute and no lotion so it wasn't that nice. Since they didn't put my flip flops on before they painted my toes when she said I was all dry after about 15 minutes I slid into my shoes. I didn't notice until I got to my car though that because of this the paint on my big toe had smeared. Overall, my toes now look horrible, my calluses are still there and it wasn't that great of an experience. Next time, I am just going to wait until I can go home or give myself a pedicure. My wife dropped in to get her nails done when a nearby competitor was too busy to fit her in. NY Nails had staff available to do the job. However when trying to select a color, she felt that the staff treated her rudely and decided to take her business elsewhere. She said she wouldn't consider going there again. Today I had my first and LAST experience at this nail salon. I convinced my friend to try it out today and as she put it.. "it doesn't even deserve a star." To say the least I could have painted both of our nails way better. These people were extremely rude and I should have known when the place was completely empty. I am not from around here so I figured why not give it a shot... my mistake. Sixty-three dollars later and I am beyond pissed. Everything they did was beyond aggressive and my pedicure was more painful then enjoyable. Then I moved on to my manicure, I had hoped for a french gel manicure and after waiting a while since the man threw a tantrum on my friend (see other review) and my lady had to do both of our nails alternating. Since this took way longer than expected we were now late for our plans afterward. I explained multiple times I was in a rush but it would not get through to them. After realizing how badly everything was turning out I changed my mind and asked her to please use the regular color on my nails but I was told "no. gel better." It was an argument I couldn't win so I said fine. I asked her to please keep my nails long, as I had been growing them out purposely for my french manicure... and now they are painfully short. She painted my nails but it is completely sloppy and missing all the edges (one of my biggest pet peeves) Then I was told I HAVE to stay for ten more minutes for my toes to dry even though they were already dry. I let my friends nails dry even though we were already late in hopes her nails wouldn't be ruined but unfortunately they are. I do not even understand why I paid for this experience. Oh, and not to mention the tool were not sanitized, where is the health department when you need them. Never again, please take my advice. I will be sticking to A plus nails down the road, best nail place I've been to in Plattsburgh. read more

OMG I am so mad, my blood pressure is boiling. I took my granddaughter Kali to New York Nails tonight for her birthday, next week she will be 6 years old. She was so excited to get a pedicure and have her nails done, we went out for dinner then off to have more fun. When I got there I explained what I wanted, marked it down on the paper and sat down for my pedi, they started Kali with the mani, actually all she was having done was her nails painted no cutting or filing. When they finished her nails they started to take her shoes off and I said no she wants a pedi all I could get out of they language barrier was "too little" I said she wants to have her feet in the water and the lotion, again no "too little" I was so mad but didn't say anything until I was ready to pay. They then chatted back and forth to each other in their language, which is very rude made me even madder. They charged me $15.00 for just painting her nails and toes, ridiculous. At this time I paid then let them have it. Told they they broke this little girls heart and they should have told me before anything was done as I would have taken her to the mall to have it done. I gave them 2 gift certificates to pay and they said you have credit, I told they they could stick the credit as I would never be back. read more

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS PLACE!! My daughter went to NY nails and paid $75 for nails and pedicure, way to much money. That wasn't the problem. Three days later her nails began to peel and lift. She went back and they refuse to fix them. They said they only guarantee for two days! They were yelling at her in front of everyone. She has permanent damage to her nail bed!!! read more

Worst place to get your pedicure done. The elderly man that did my nails was being very rough. He was trying to rush everything. He filed my nails until they were bleeding. On top of that, he wasn't being polite either. I politely told the man that my nails were being cut unevenly and I got a rude response instead. Never returning there again and I wouldn't suggest anyone to go there either. By far the worst place to go to do your nails. read more

I went in for a fill. (Price on wall says $20) all I wanted was a simple white French. Asked her to round my nails. She told me my nails are square. Umm, yes I know that's why I asked for them to be rounded. I sat there while she grinded my nails away but kept them square. I asked again can you make them rounded pls? Her response was "you should have asked before I cut them down. They are too short now!" I brushed the dust off my fingers after she grinded my nails. She says "Don't do that!" My nails are not filled all the way, like she was afraid to use the stuff. I have a chip on one nail from her grinding. She went a little to far on on nail it's a little sore. The white French tips are streaked up my nails. She'd paint a bunch of white on the tips then go back with a brush filled with polish remover to make the straight line. But she didn't clean the brush from nail to nail so it caused streaks of white above my tips that she left. I went in there to de-stress do something nice for myself. But it just looks sloppy and I ended up paying $38. Don't know how it goes from $20 to $38 that's quite a jump for a plain jane French. Not even a manicure where they push your cuticles and massage your hands. No when I say plain jane I mean it. Stick to the places you know. read more

My experience here was absolutely terrible. I don't even want to give them a one-star rating because they don't deserve any stars. I went in for a manicure and pedicure and came out with the worst experience of my life. To start, as I was getting my pedicure I found it odd that they didn't put the sandals on until after they painted my toes... this obviously led to my toe rubbing against the sandal and the polish chipping. The man did not seem to have a problem fixing my chipped toe so all was fine until I noticed him take the nail polish off of every toe... I was wondering why he was doing this but didn't say anything. He then reapplied all of the nail polish on my toes and took it off again. The second time he took all of it off he threw a temper tantrum and said that I had to pick a color because this one didn't work on my toes (strange). So I picked a different color. He started applying the second color and again took off the first coat he put on of it and threw another tantrum. Him and his wife (I'm assuming) then started arguing and he stormed off to go and sit in the corner. The woman said she would do the pedicure for me considering her husband clearly refused to. It only gets worse from here. Next was my manicure and the man decided to come back over. He did all the preparation before nail polish could be applied but once he saw the color I wanted he refused to paint my nails so the woman again had to do it... I was nothing but kind and patient the whole entire time, though I'm not exactly sure how. My friend and I also repeatedly told them that we had somewhere to be at 7:00 and when 6:45 came around the woman only just brought us over to dry our nails. I was fuming at this point. The woman also had a habit of pointing out every flaw (she told us our legs were hairy, that I had too short of nails, and made grossed out faces when working on my friends feet). My nails finally dried but of course they were already chipped and smudged. I was going to refuse to pay but considering the rush I was in I decided to just pay and certainly not tip. I came out of there with nails that looked like a 5-year-old had done them and I was 20 minutes late to where I needed to be that night. I will NEVER go back to this place and I do not recommend anybody go here. I am now about to do my own nails after paying $40 for the absolutely ridiculous job they did. read more
