I have witnessed club members bringing in their own tools to fix things--how bad is that? Not only i the gym dirty but the locker rooms are also filthy. It's cheap enough but you get what you pay for. I would go elsewhere

Hey, isn't this clever!…read more This gym, which has been here for ages, run by the same company, was rated so poorly (I think 1-1/2 stars), that they found a way to wipe the slate clean by resetting to a "new listing". It's easier to purge the ratings and photos from hundreds of actual customers than to fix the gym. So I guess we need to build up a truthful accounting again. Fine, I'll go first. This is for the Hawthorne location. Stuff is broken and stays broken forever. It's not uncommon for more than half the treadmills machines to be down, and to remain that way for months or even years. Most of the weight training machines lack pins...it's like management got tired of replacing them, so we do without. Sort of like a prison gym, I'd imagine. Showers mostly don't work, lockers are mostly busted. The rules are not enforced (because the only workers actually on the floor are trainers whose income depends on their likability). So nothing's put away, "bros" hog the various stations, and the poor embattled desk people need to cut the lights at closing to get people to exit. Nothing's clean. The water fountains (which, in keeping with the prison approach to maintenance, barely squirt any water at all) smell like mucous. Floors and mats are gritty/sticky - some dude pushes a mildly wet mop around from time to time, spreading out the muck. And good luck with billing. These guys are the recognized champions of unprincipled hidden charges, broken promises, and nickel/diming. Just google for horror stories of people spending hours and hours trying to cancel, downgrade, or otherwise get the company to keep its promises. As I said, there used to be hundreds and hundreds of reviews here testifying to all this, along with perky responses from customer service insisting that they try hard to provide a quality product, and "appreciate the feedback". It's all spin, all the time with these guys. The spin approach to management: Massage complainers, purge Yelp complaints, and scramble like mad to paste on bandaids. Anything but run a gym conscientiously. So I'm the one lonely reviewer right now. It'll take a while to build back the horror show these guys somehow persuaded Yelp to expunge. But watch, you'll see that this is not an unusual opinion in any way.

The main reason I initially signed up here was convenience, and for that, it does serve its purpose. That said, I was genuinely surprised by how much this gym is lacking, especially considering it's located in Westchester and in an otherwise very nice town. For the price and location, I expected better upkeep, more updated equipment, and a higher overall standard. Some aspects feel overlooked, which is disappointing given the potential this space has. What stands out the most is that this gym could be great. The layout, location, and accessibility are all there -- it just needs more attention, investment, and consistency to match what you'd expect from a gym in this area. With a few improvements, this could easily become a standout spot rather than one people choose only for convenience.

Great Sign-Up, but Billing and Collections Nightmare…read more I joined Snap Fitness Tarrytown in ENDING of December 2024. Eric the owner was great, so I gave it a chance--even though coworkers and others warned me about billing problems and said the gym "seemed off." I stopped attending due to a high-risk pregnancy and informed them my card was stolen (replaced via Chase). Somehow, they still charged my account, likely using old routing info. When I tried to check my account, pay balances, and reactivate, I got vague, dismissive, and rude responses like: "Your account was sent to collections in February for non-payment." "We sent many emails...no record of your card being compromised." They ignored my questions about charges in June and July 2025 after being told my account was sent to collections in February of 2025, account history, collection details, and even who I was even speaking to once I asked for a name they stopped responding. Eventually, they gave the collection agency info--but even the agency was confused why I was being charged nearly $400 when my monthly membership was ~$40, especially if it supposedly went to collections after two months. Snap Fitness' billing and customer service are unprofessional, evasive, and frustrating. If you join, get everything in writing and watch your statements carefully!!

Kid's birthday parties can be stress-inducing.You invite the whole class. Some RSVP and show up,…read moresome don't. Some forget to RSVP and show up. Some have food allergies and happily drop their kids off without sticking around. Some bring extra kids in tow. Did I order enough food? Can we keep them busy for 2 hours? (Can you tell I've been through the kid class party ringer?!) The Grit Ninja was an answer to a kid party prayer. My birthday boy had a blast jumping and acrobat-ing around with his buddies. You get the place to yourself, which makes the drop-off thing much easier and relaxed. The party assistants take care of everything. The food is included (just add cake & decorations) and the instructor (a real Ninja Warrior!) is awesome; such patience with a high energy brood! The kids climb, jump, do obstacle courses, swing and attempt the "Ring of Fire!" (No, it's not at all as scary as it sounds, Mom & Dad!) Looking forward to taking my dudes back for their classes too. Grateful for another great place to celebrate and flex your warrior grittiness! :)

They made her sit out the activities for more than an hour until they could "find" the waiver. When I accidentally called the Pleasantville location to ask what was going on, they -- a different location -- found it immediately. Clearly, had the Norwalk staff searched under her name they would have found it. When I spoke with the Norwalk manager, she kept reiterating that their system updates in "real time," which seems separate from the problem. While there might have been an issue with their system, I'm more concerned that they didn't simply look her up. Ironically, that lack of basic problem solving makes me suspect their ability to keep participants safe. They certainly didn't make an 11-year-old girl happy.
