I was on a motorcycle trip to Tahlequah with three friends. My bike died unexpectedly in Muskogee. Even worse, it's Friday afternoon on Memorial Day weekend. The driver, Ora, made it to us in a very timely manner. He loaded up my bike, secured it very well, and delivered it to Route 66 HD for the repair. Sending out demand letter tomorrow as well as to their insurance company as well. tried to work it out over the phone and while there for an illegal tow at my apartment complex. I got them recorded telling me where they towed it from and honestly I don't blame them. all I did was ask them for the photos of where they towed my car from and they have done nothing but give me the run around. they could easily wipe their hands of it if they did nothing wrong with proof of pre tow pictures. they refused so I have to assume their insurance is liable. as well as the company for trying to protect their contract with the apartment complex. got the apartment on video lying as well and now they are just pointing the finger at each other and nothing telling me that it's the other one's fault . either way I'm suing away on this one and they can fight it out in court. if anyone has had similar experiences please get back with me so we can add to it. read more

On September 27th, my family and I attended the Tulsa State Fair and parked one of our vehicles in the Lowe's parking lot across the street. When we returned, our vehicle was gone, and a wrecker company was actively towing numerous vehicles away. We spoke to a driver in a 918 Wreckers truck, who told us, "I don't know who took your car or where it's at." After calling 918 Wreckers directly, we were informed that we had to pay $302.16--cash only, exact change--to retrieve our vehicle. After finally getting our vehicle back, we returned to the Lowe's lot to inform other fairgoers about where their cars might be and what the fees were. While there, we witnessed one of the wreckers having a malfunction while loading a Ford F-150 truck and calling out for assistance. It looked as if the winch broke that was holding the F-150, so they had another flat bed tow truck back up to it, and lifted the F-150 by its bumper. We drove over to record the incident, as we are preparing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. At that point, an unmarked vehicle with a rebel flag license plate sped up behind us in a threatening manner. The driver, a woman, began cussing at us, flipping us off, and walking toward the tow trucks. When we asked, "What are you even doing?" she yelled back at us, "Whatever the hell I want to." I immediately called 918 Wreckers to report the situation. The employee I spoke with told me they would "call their GM and have him go out to handle it because this was extremely unprofessional". While we were in the parking lot, we also witnessed an older gentleman and his wife explaining to the wreckers that their car had broken down and he had just returned from the auto store with parts to fix it. Despite his circumstances, he was still forced to pay the $302.16 in cash before being allowed to retrieve his vehicle. I fully understand that we were in the wrong with our parking. But the situation could have and should have been handled very differently. This experience was unprofessional, unsafe, and deeply concerning. I am formally filing this complaint in hopes of addressing the conduct, towing practices, and safety issues we encountered with 918 Wreckers. I would also like for the Better Business Bureau to investigate this company's practice of only accepting cash payments. This company and it's owner are absolute crooks. There was a wreck and traffic was backed up and I had nowhere to go. One of 918 Wrecker's trucks was going down the median and I was in the left hand lane and they clipped my mirror and refuse to pay for it. Rather than them doing the right thing and repairing the mirror on my less than a year old truck, they claim I didn't yield to an emergency vehicle. Traffic was stopped and I could not move over. I would call any other towing service and I will also not be doing any business with Chris Nickel since they use them as their towing company. Called to setup the pickup of our vehicle after a wreck. Spoke with Taylor and got the info required to get the vehicle, cash required, and detailed the circumstance. Taylor assured us that they could assist us and provide a notary. We both took off work, presented at the front desk, and were told we could not pick up the vehicle. Explanation was ridiculous. Individual told us that Taylor "must have misunderstood". Taylor did not / would not come to window. We were told we could not speak with a supervisor, could not have name of owner, "just call the office'. Told daily fee could not be waived for this extra time "due to state law" which is a lie. 918 tow has a contract with lowes at 15th and yale during the state fair and my son parked there and they did have small signs around the lowes parking lot we did not see them when my son parked his car there so we could run around shopping and when we came back about 3 hrs later his car was gone there was several tow trucks hauling tons of cars and trucks off and I asked one tow driver if he new about my son's car and he said no I don't no so I called his company 918 tow and a lady on the phone said it would be 302.00$ cash only to get it and she was very rude and didn't care that we wasn't at the fair. I had them tow my '92 Ford e350 shuttle bus from the West side of Tulsa to the East side. They had the details of the vehicle and the addresses of locations. On the morning they arrived to tow, after the vehicle was already loaded, they called to inform me the pricing changed significantly. This bad news was delivered in a phone call (Jazmin I believe is her name) sounded like, "It's too bad about the change but it is what it is". She was rude and showed ZERO empathy. It was already a pricey tow, understandably, but now was the wrong time to renegotiate. A day prior, I had already spent an hour calling around for competitive quotes. Not only did they inform me of the price change, when I got upset and said "this is bull$!tt", the customer service rep hung up on me. I immediately called back and said "I am canceling the service, please unload my vehicle." A new person, who was amazing, quickly called back and said they would honor the original pricing. Out of principle, I wanted to say "NO, YOU UNLOAD MY VEHICLE NOW!" But, that would only have screwed to driver/owner of the actual tow truck. Side note: The actual tow truck was an independent contractor; anybody care to guess who took the hit financially because 918Wrecker got the price quote wrong???? Let's hope it wasn't my driver as he handled everything professionally and never attempted to make this my fault. I didn't submit a review 2 years ago when I had such a bad experience with 1 driver, that a 2nd man was sent out instead. Much nicer, and explained they'd had trouble out of the other man and how hot headed he usually was. I probably should've written it then but everyone has a bad day. Until yesterday (06/11), when I got the pleasure of driving in front of one of your trucks. About 6:30- 7ish PM, I'm driving on Coweta RD where the speed limit is 45. Noticed him getting close so I thought, this guy is in a hurry so I speed up. I end up doing 60 and it still wasn't fast enough.. he'd get on my bumper again, back up, get on my number again.. rinse and repeat.. all while I'm doing 15mph over. We would've both been screwed if a deer had jumped out of those wood lines or someone pulled out. This is just my OPINION: if they don't care about the people on the road, why on earth are they going to care about your car?? 918 Management Team, We had an unfortunate experience this last Saturday our family vehicle being towed. Saturday night we drove downtown for our sons 13th birthday dinner. The roads were covered in white snow and it took us an hour to get there due to white out conditions. We parked on the street; there was no loading zone sign and we honestly thought we parked legally. When we left dinner we found out our car had been towed because it was in a loading zone which was only marked by white stripes on the road; again it was white snow covered when we arrived. ( Please see attached photo and streets when we arrived ) We ate and in that time I guess someone called us in for being parked in a loading zone. It was 27 degrees out when we left our dinner location and we were without a car. When we finally figured out what happened to our ( 911 had no record it was towed;we reported it stolen ) I had the pleasure of meeting "Heather" from 918. Heather offered us a $70.00 discount and to have the car brought back with no exact time frame on when that would take place. I pleaded with Heather that it was freezing cold and this was an honest mistake; we shouldn't be charged for this and have to wait in the cold. I pleaded with Heather this was still unreasonable even with her $70.00 discount. Heather then called me a "Jerk" and said I would have to pay full price. My wife and my kids are my witness; I never insulted Heather or was disrespectful in any way. I only challenged the tow fee and situation and for 918 to have some decency with us. We paid for a $65.00 family uber ride, and went to the 918 Mingo location. The staff at 918 towing treated us like we were criminals, we had to pay a full price with cash of $349.16 and Heather would not come talk with us. My wife only had to walk outside around the building ( Creepy ) and meet some guy in the parking lot and walk all the way to the back to get our car. I couldn't believe this and recorded it with my phone in desbelief.. I can't explain how terrible our experience was with the 918 staff that night. I'm reaching out to deescalate this and try to offer a reasonable agreement for 918 and our family. I'm happy to eat our uber cost and pay 918 Wrecker $100.00 for your fuel and employee service. Would you all be willing to reimburse us $249.16? Thanks for hearing me out and I do hope we can resolve this with a humane and reasonable agreement. Never in my life have I had such a helpful person in my time of need, as the driver of this tow truck. Randall Cooper is his name, and he went above and beyond getting my vehicle where I needed it in a timely manner. Sparing some boring details - My destination was far, my car was difficult to load and unload, and I was not very organized. But he was SO easy to communicate with. He was willing to answer my calls or texts and did so quickly. He got the job done quickly and efficiently, and was a very friendly face in a sh*t situation, even at 3:30 in the morning. Wrecker run in with Owasso police department and unfortunately ended getting my vehicle towed while I went back to Tulsa to serve out some failure to pay old warrants. As if my luck wasn't crappy enough I sat in jail 28 days and literally had one day to make it to "tow yard" and try and reclaim everything I owned..(which was in my car). Sadly I lost so many things I could not believe how much was stolen. I just got my son a new under armor back pack that I first noticed was gone.. then I realized my whole tool bag, had 20 volt drills and batteries, Sockets, Ratchets, not much but what I had I had worked hard for and bought with my hard earned money. Basically my whole car had been ransacked which was a complete Let down my wife had several items stolen. their driver mason arrived to tow my truck. told the driver my engine started knocking so I needed it towed... what does he do? hooks up to my truck then he goes and starts my truck and starts winching it up. leaving it running and knocking all the way up. called the company and even called AAA who arranged the tow. engine is trashed at this point and cant even get a call back. based on the pic... can you tell me why the engine needed to be running... wheels straight. no need. so at idle 700 revolutions per min.. over 700 times it knocked going up that truck bed. damaged crank beyond repair, piston and rod made contact with the cylinder head damaging all three..$1000 in damage and company wont even acknoledge me... read more

They were nice on the phone. They advised they would call before going to pick up our car. They didn't. They called after they were there hooking up. They advised they give a discount for paying cash, but didn't tell me you can't pay the driver. You have to go to their facility. Their dolly had a flat while towing my vehicle, so they pulled my driveshaft. While I can understand that, when they dropped the vehicle off at my mechanic they didn't put it back on. They just left it on the ground, and asked him what he wanted to do with it. I called their office to advise, and they said they would call back. They never did. This was the first wrecker I called, I wish I would have called just one more. My car broke down and I was told they could have a tow truck in 30-45 minutes. I waited an hour and half and called for an update, it took another hour more. I don't mind waiting 2.5hrs, just give me an accurate ETA! I asked for a quote price over the phone and it seems he just made up a price. The total came to slightly over $100 to tow the car about 10 miles. Price seems high and service is slow. The driver was on his cell phone texting the whole time he loaded my vehicle and did not care about the cars waiting on him to finish. He would text for minutes in between strapping down the car. Worst towing company in Tulsa. Parked in a location that had some temporary no parking signs. Parked on far edge of large lot no signs were there. Apparently applied there as well. When I returned my vehicle was gone. One of their tow trucks was in the lot. I asked him if they towed my car. He said he will go to other side of lot and find out. I waited for 25 min. he never came back. He told me he would find out just so he could drive away and not deal with me. I never saw his truck in lot again. After he needlessly wasted my time. I ended up finding out from someone else what I was supposed to do. They told me it would cost about $250.00. They would only take cash. When I got here to paid they told me they will not give you any change, that they keep the change. I did not want to give them about an extra $12.00. I was lucky to have a friend that had change so I was not forced to overpay them. They also had me sign something that said they were not responsible for any damage they may have done to my car. When it was time to give me my keys, they accused me of being drunk and would not give me my car keys. They said alcohol was on my breath. The last time I had any alcohol was over two months ago had 1/2 of a beer. I told them to give me a breathalyzer or smell my breath. I advised them I was a diabetic and not a drinker. They said show me your glucose meter. After arguing with them for several min. They finally agreed to give me the keys to my car. I was extremely offended and appalled that because they did not like me they would make up stuff to harass me. The worst experience with a company I've had in the almost 70 years I have been on this planet. I would never use this company. Keep away from them!!! read more

Someone removed the current year sticker from my car at some point and I didnt notice. I received a tow notice given 24 hours to get the car move (or the problem fixed). This company then proceeded to tow my car several hours before the notice was due. Its just straight up extortion here folks! They so far tried to blame it on the apartment complex, then, when on speaker phone with the apartment manager, admitted fault and said they were not going to do anything about it. It does not seem likely they are going to make this right, but if they do, Ill remove this rating. read more

Best service! I had a previous tow company not show up for a scheduled appointment and then insult me on the phone. I called 918 wrecker basically in tears and they sent a tow truck under 2 hrs and follow up with me within those 2 hrs. The tow truck drive took care of my car, was very professional and kind.
