Does this look like a "home made hoagie roll"?
    Fred P.

Looked for a spot to stop so my girlfriend could take care of some phone calls / internet time while on vacation. A typical downpour started as we pulled into Bangor so I stopped at the first coffee place. At first I was just going to have a coffee and her a 'choco-cinno'. I opted instead for a Thai Bubble tea, then I saw that the special of the day was a lobster roll on a home made hoagie. Out comes the Hersheys' syrup for her 'specialty coffee'.. Hmmm....I should have told her what it was. She probably would have sent it back. Then my Lobster salad came on a plain white store bought hotdog bun. I left the bread on the plate and just ate the stuffing. The bubble tea? Maybe fun for kids, but take a pass on it. Oh well, we had a place out of the rain to take care of business anyway.

Excellent ice coffee. Good price. Nice people.

When we arrived, not only was our food not ready -- they hadn't even started making it. I showed the employee the "your order is ready" text, and he hit me with the classic "we don't control those texts," which is corporate‑theater nonsense. If Harvest Moon wants to impress corporate, here's a tip: actually make the food instead of sending out fantasy notifications. While waiting, another employee gave me the "we'll bring your food to you" line, paired with the subtle-but-not-subtle annoyance of someone who thinks you're inconveniencing them by existing. Since I was only waiting because they hadn't made the food they claimed was ready, I stepped outside, came back, and they were still mid‑sandwich. Eventually, after watching them wrap all three, I escaped. Now for the part they do excel at: the sandwiches were fantastic. Our Reubens were warm, flavorful, and satisfying -- lively rye, great sauce, and a crisp, refreshing pickle. As for ambiance, I didn't dine in, but the interior color scheme is pleasant and modern enough that I wouldn't mind eating there... assuming the food is actually ready when they say it is. Great sandwiches. Fictional readiness texts. Slow service. Pickles worth the wait.

Turkey Sandwich was adequate. Loved the bread. Wish you used Boar's Head meats. Service was good…read moreand atmosphere quiet/chill.

Once again, Yelpers, you helped me out in finding a great hoagie (ahem, sub) place. We got some…read moresubs for lunch while sitting in bliss at Schoodic Point in Acadia National Park again this week. The owner, Diane, thought she recognized us, but I told her she was mistaken. She then told us the short story of taking over the establishment which used to be next door run by a gentleman for upwards of 60 years. She kept his menu and added to it. Their subs are slightly different in that the meat is on top, and the fillers in the rolls. The wife picked out the #7 - Tourney Time Turkey which has veggies, American cheese, Turkey Chunks, Pepper (Green), and Pickles. I chose the #6 - Blu Ox Roast Beef which has the same toppings but also with Horseradish or Bleu Cheese. All the sandwiches I believe also have raw onions. However, since they are made to order, they can customize your sandwich to your liking. Diane also recommended some homemade macaroni salad or possibly the soup of the day, which today she called "Thanksgiving Leftovers." She said she just made it this morning, and had lots of turkey, potato, and other stuff (but not real leftovers!) We both went with that "soup." She also suggested the homemade croutons instead of crackers to go with it, and we also chose them. She threw in a baggies full of the croutons, and we were quickly on our way. We thankfully avoided the seagulls in Schoodic, and had the soup in the car as it was slightly raining. OMG, this was really a Thanksgiving Gumbo with a lot of flavor and pep. The homemade croutons threw it over the top. I could have just had a few more servings of this instead of the sub. After a couple hours overwatching the Schoodic version of Thunder Hole, we had our subs. My wife and I were a little surprised at the foot long rolls they came on as they had the consistency of being like a hot dog roll instead of what we're used to. The turkey chunks were plentiful and tasty. They are also made daily as they cook whole chickens and turkey breast to cut up for their foods. I could have used more meat and fillers on mine, but it was still quite good. And the seagulls got zip. So 5+ stars for the Thanksgiving Leftover Soup (Gumbo), and 4 for the subs. I'm rounding up due to the very friendly service and I always like to support local businesses when possible. I think there's a bazillion Subways in Maine, but only one The Legacy Sandwich. I'm going with The Legacy Sandwich. $30 for the two subs and two soups. Well worth it.

Owner told me to come back the next day, and he'd buy me one as I had traveled from Presque Isle to try this sandwich. Came back the next day and he stuck to his word.
