    Seasonal seafood bake
    Josh S.

I was somewhat hesitant to eat here given the bad reviews, but upon further inspection, realized most of those seemed to be for relatively minor/isolated issues. They take Covid precautions pretty seriously... There were at least three hand sanitizer dispensers between the door and my seat. Everybody wears a mask/gloves and there are plastic dividers between seats at the bar. I was seated right away and the bartender was quick and friendly in assisting me. Sheena answered my questions on a few menu items and remained attentive throughout the meal. As everyone who orders wedge salads knows, they are basically a delivery device for blue cheese. The wedge here was really good - tons of bacon and blue cheese crumbles. The blue cheese dressing-to-lettuce ratio was above average. I ended up with a seasonal seafood dish, which was essentially a bake of shrimp, scallops, fish, and a little crab meat covered in buttery Ritz cracker crumbs. Overall, very tasty and served quickly. No complaints. I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again when in the area. It certainly seems like a superior option to some of the other fast food and chain restaurants in the area near the outlets.

Traveling for work and decided to stop, glad I did! Sat at the bar, my bartender April was great, always checking on me. Food was great, fresh and hot. Probably best lobster roll in a chain restaurant. Definitely will be back.

    Sweet Heat Burger

Had some coupons that came in the mail so decided to use one for lunch. We arrived during the lunch hour, were pleasantly greeted and seated in a comfortable booth. Our server, Lauren, came right over to take drink orders and tell us the lunch specials and types of soup they had that day. Waters with lemon (lunch time and errands to do, but there were some yummy sounding and looking adult beverages in the menu!) were promptly delivered and our orders were taken. We both ordered burgers and I'm always a little cautious about how I order it cooked, so went with medium with fingers crossed! My husband ordered the Sweet Heat Burger which was topped with Vermont cheddar, sweet jalapeño relish, crispy jalapeños, lettuce, tomato and a chipotle drizzle. He said it was really good and the "heat" was just right! I ordered the Vermont Burger which was topped with Vermont cheddar, applewood bacon, caramelized onions and a maple mayo on a toasted roll. Absolute yumminess and my burger was cooked just right! Lettuce, tomato, red onion and pickles garnished the plate. There was a choice of fries or Cole slaw and we both went with the fries which were hot, crisp and fresh. Our server, Lauren, came back to check on us at appropriate times and was very pleasant. She remembered the extra mayo on the side for my burger and deducted the coupon amount without reminders. Love that! We will return!

Lunch, marginal, unremarkable, great staff, plenty of parking and really could use some wow factor.

They didn't give me my chipotle bbq sauce and my fries weren't well done as requested. #sorrynotsorry

Onions Pub & Restaurant turned out to be one of those places that makes you glad you trusted the reviews. Housed in the historic Tilton Inn, the restaurant has plenty of character before you even open the menu. We chose the pub side, which has a fun, relaxed atmosphere and felt like exactly the right place to kick off the evening. We started by sharing the French onion soup, and I'm glad we did. It was outstanding and easily one of the better versions I've had in quite some time. My partner ordered one of the entrée salads, which looked fresh, generous, and every bit as satisfying as my fish and chips. I paired the fish and chips with a Smithwick's Irish Red Ale. The fish was crisp, flaky, and satisfying--the kind of pub meal that's hard to improve on. The service added just as much to the experience as the food. Our waitress was also tending bar and happily shared the story behind both the historic inn and the restaurant's unusual name. As we learned, "Onion" is actually an affectionate nickname for Bermudians, a nod to the island's once-famous onion exports. Since the owner is half Bermudan, the name fits perfectly. She was one part bartender, one part server, and one part docent, and it made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. Onions is a little quirky in all the right ways, with good food, welcoming people, and a setting that feels like it has stories to tell. If you're in the area--whether you're heading to a concert or just passing by on I-93--it's well worth the stop. Five stars.

The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for, a beautiful, local restaurant that was not a chain restaurant. Out of all the meals I had this week on my trip, this was by far the best I've had. I got a Pinot Noir, mouthwatering calamari, chicken parmesan with toasted garlic bread and pasta, and an incredible sweet potato & maple cheesecake to finish it all off.

Finally, now that the 'newness' wore off, 4 of us were able to grab a table with ease. There was live music & they post on their Facebook page regularly with updates on food & cocktail specials. We decided on appetizers: nachos w/ chicken, mozzarella sticks & potato skins. The nachos were really good - I liked the chips they used. The mozzarella sticks were a bit underwhelming, similar to frozen ones I've purchased at BJs. The potato skins tasted like they were made in-house. ABOVE & BEYOND MOMENT: Our server, Jackie, was friendly & patient with our requests. I had asked if they could make a spicy margarita. She asked the bartender & they were out of their jalapeno tequila so they asked if it was okay to muddle fresh jalapenos instead. I said I trusted the bartender to do what they thought best. When my margarita was delivered, the Jackie asked if I wouldn't mind tasting it to make sure it wasn't too spicy. I think the fact they custom made the drink & ensured it was to my liking was great. I see mixed reviews about the prices. I honestly found that appetizers averaging about $15 was on the high side. We'd like to go back for dinner, maybe when there isn't live music. Very loud due to the small space. The ambience is a cleaned up version of J.J. Goodwins & there are (2) pool tables.
