Once you become a regular at Onions, you start to feel like part of Kathy and Allan's family. You get to know their Bermudian roots, and the influence that has on the fantastic menu. Every server I've met there is kind and accommodating; I deeply appreciate their talented bartenders, and want to shake hands with their chef after every single meal. Truly. The Bermuda fish chowder is a stark contrast to New England's heavy cream-and-butter variety, but trust me, it'll make a convert out of you after one taste; it's a spicy, aromatic tomato-based delicacy with a hint of clove and a splash of rum and sherry vinegar on top. Don't skip on their garden salad, which might be the best salad in all of New Hampshire thanks to a fantastic range of super fresh veggies that will convince you they have a full-on greenhouse out back. The vegetarian tacos are a satisfying bite, particularly with a cold Fiddlehead on their front porch, but if you want true comfort food look no further than their shepherds pie. You really can't go wrong with anything, to be fair. Grab a booth or a high top next to the cozy fireplace and treat yourself to my favorite spot in the lakes region. And don't forget to ask about the history of the building, especially if you're a fan of ghost stories.

We came in and it was kind of quiet. Only one other table with people in the dining room. The pub had a few more. We sat and our waitress Shannon was super attentive and was especially sweet with a table across from us that had a small child. The place is clean and well kept and the food was fantastic!

    Onion Rings! Oh my goodness!!

We had the most delicious lunch with ONION RINGS to start. Our service was perfect, Shanon was patient with us. Seared Tuna was beautiful, panini was cheesy and tasty. Nice wine selection beer & bar were well stocked. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere.

Last summer, on vacation, we tried Onion's Pub, in Franklin, NH, for the first time. Delicious! We returned tonight for the same 2 meals, bangers and mash and shepherd's pie. Delicious!

Onions is so unsuspecting, but so impressive! Food: Delicious! Everything that was ordered at our table was great. Salmon, scallops, bolognese, chicken cordon bleu, linguini and clams, and burger. Desserts were excellent too. The quality of the food is fantastic and you can tell everything is crafted FRESH! Prices were very reasonable and quality is great. Ambiance: Was fine - very clean and well kept, but nothing fancy or cutesy. They keep the kitchen door open and it looks clean in there. Just a simply decorated dining room that kind of gives diner vibes (doesn't really match the impressive quality of the food). The bar side looked a bit more modern. There are some parking spots in the front of the restaurant and there is also a little lot down the street a few steps towards Cumberland farms! Service was wonderful, our waitress was a pleasure! We will be back!!

Parking is challenging here, but it's doable if you don't mind walking. Also, consider making a reservation. We ate here on a Friday night, and it was busy. So busy that service was slow...a sign of the times where restaurants don't have enough help. We were a table of four for this meal. The menu offered some great sounding options and seems to have a connection to Bermuda. The fried pickles were super dilly and yummy. The fish chowder was an interesting flavor - not sure I would get that again. The haddock was wrapped in potatoes, which was interesting, but then it was served with another starch. It didn't have much flavor. The house salad was filled with fresh vegetables, and the apple cider vinaigrette gave it a nice brightness. The steak tips looked great. The scallops were huge and placed on top of creamy risotto. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, the service was slow, and it was busy.

Driving in I asked my husband I asked what Kettlehead is known for an he said: Beer. Yet somehow, I can't love Kettlehead. A few things occured that damaged the experience: 1. The waitress spilled a sampler all over my wristlet and cell phone. She was oblivious but she has been spilling it the whole walk to the table! She seamed put out i asked of they had bleach wipes as we were in from out of town and i didnt want mty cell phone smelling like beer all weekend. 2. The waitress stated the coin change machine is wonky and they don't own it. The coin machine worked fine but it was the first game we played, Tokyo Drift, that ate our money. I reported it and seamed like the guy didn't care. He didn't offer me a $1 to make up for it nor did he shut down the machine after my report. I feel like if you have it in your place, you should stand behind it. An issue, it should become yours. 3. The pretzels are terrible. They are like sliced and fried with no flavor. They looked like little hot dogs. We go to a ton of breweries and this is the worst pretzel experience we have ever had. Also, the waitress told us the mustard was the beer cheese and vice versa. My kid was not to happy when she ate mustard! But also, the worst beer cheese we have encountered as well. Her excuse, she has been up since 4am. Well, my husband wasn't wrong. He raved over their beer. Nobody was impressed with their food.

While this IPA was good it didn't necessarily a beer that got etched into my mind as time passed I still had no complaints with it.

The tables are superbly clean. The bathrooms are scrupulously spotless. The bar is perfectly curated and organized. A health inspector here would be sorely disappointed. Cleanest venue I've seen in a long time. The service lacked, however. Right after being ushered to our table with a beautiful outside view, the young waitress started yapping interminably on personal issues with a couple she obviously knew two tables away. We were forgotten. Finally after a good 15 minutes, one of us went to the bar to get menus. The bar waitress came out and bought us menus and gave the young lady a look.... Then the taps were out so in an Irish pub, no slow-poured Guinness. I did get it in the bottle and then had to send the waitress to get a cold glass. Lunch came. Delicious Chicken Moher and my other half a delicious Club Sandwich. Yum The lunch was very good. I would have given five stars. But the initial reception with a lackadaisical waitress tells me that although the pub may be outstanding, they need some better training for their wait staff.
