Rode my motorcycle from Myrtle Beach to Laconia bike week in New Hampshire. Had a great time and tried a local favorite pub that was recommended to me. It was mostly local regulars, but all were very friendly and talked about local activities. The pub had all the regular beers, nice and cold. The food was actually pretty good bar food, had their pub shaved steak sandwich. It was different but good and the fries crispy. I sat at the bar and the service was very good and bartender friendly. We took our daughter and son-in-law out for sandwiches, and ended up getting salads, fish and chips, and burger (plus a burger to go for our babysitter). Our server was delightful! She was prompt, courteous, and friendly. The music was good, though a bit too loud (we were seated too close). We had not been to 405 on a Live music night though, so we made the best of it. We will ask to sit farther away if that happens again. Or we just won't go on music nights. The singer guitarist was good, but every song was in the same key (all songs sounded alike). Some like that. We don't. Musical taste is subjective. We're musicians and know that. It's tough to please everyone. Our food and drinks were all delicious! And that's really why we continue to go to 405. My steak tips and Greek salad was yummy! My daughter had the same and loved it too. My husband loved the fish and chips. The website / online menu is VERY misleading. This is a dive bar that also happens to sell food. Customer service sucked. Whatever. I don't care about whether a waitress is overly nice or not. When I got my second cup of water, I noticed (AFTER I DRANK FROM IT) that sitting at the bottom was a BEETLE TYPE BUG and a mystery yellowish round piece (what I can only guess and hope is a lemon seed). When we told the waitress and asked for a manager, we were told there's no manager working. Then a second waitress shows up (not a manager, but also doesn't identify herself as a manager or not), she brushes us off and in the most uninterested tone "you guys wanted to talk to me..." and ran off as soon as she could. They said they would comp the appetizers. I go up to speak with the second waitress again (thinking she was a manager), saying that I think it would be fair to comp the entire check seeing as a BUG was in my food/drink. She said she's not a manager and she's not going to comp a $200 meal over that (the bill was not $200, it was $100). She then walks off as I'm in the middle of talking to her. Forget customer service, these workers don't know how to treat customers like human beings. Absolutely disgusting. Horrible response to a bug in a drink as a person to person. read more

Four of us do regional restaurant 'exploring' on a weekly basis. We're always looking for something we've never tried. I came across the 405 Pub and it looked promising. Waitstaff was great & attentive. Food was very good with generous portions. I would go back just for the Truffle Parmesan Fried Mushrooms alone! Classic pub atmosphere and menu. My wife and I decided to enjoy an afternoon lunch on Veterans Day. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed on the food. My wife ordered soup (chicken pot pie) which was cold the waitress was very polite and apologized and returning the soup to reheat. Waitress returned with the soup very hot and my wife thanked her. Again, my wife dissatisfied with the soup tasted very salty. I tried the soup and agreed with her that the soup was salty. Therefore, she had lost her appetite. I also was disappointed on my fish and chips order. The fish wasn't cooked enough! My wife asked me not to complain to the waitress. I agreed, not too so we could leave. If I could put zero I would. Called because the book a table was not working. Girl who answered the phone had no idea if they take reservations and had no idea why the link wasn't working. Put me on " hold" but I could hear the conversation between her and someone she asked who also had no clue. Should have went elsewhere as this was a representation of the whole place. Started out crappy and didn't get better. There was 5 of us, sat us at a table that they had to put a chair on the end when they had plenty of big tables. We order our drinks 2 cocktails and 2 beers. The "frozen" mudslide was terrible it was watery and blah. It was watery because they don't use ice cream, just ice and the ingredients in a blender. The second cocktail which was on there list of special cocktails on the table, which was a coconut margarita tasted like mix and nothing else in it. Our waitress was nowhere to be seen so we asked the waitress from the other table to get her. Still took at least 10 minutes for her to come over to see what the issue was. When she was told that there was something off with the margarita and could we just get a Sprite instead She had an attitude about it. Turns out the sprite wasn't any better as it was too much syrup and wasn't mixed properly. The margarita also caused a rash on the person who ordered it. We have no idea why. We ordered an appetizer which was the sampler for all of us. Sampler comes out no plates. She puts down the sampler and says oh I'll go get you some plates. She's gone for at least 20 minutes. We had to lay out napkins to eat our appetizers off of. Now it's a very long wait till our entrées come out. My daughter got cheese nachos and added ground beef. It came out looking like it had been cooked for hours the meat just disintegrated they were awful. My son and I ordered a pizza to split which I will say this is the third time we have been to this restaurant. The first two times were great. The pizza was very good that time. The pizza didn't even look the same. It was round and I believe in the past it was like a flatbread. it was very greasy and not enjoyable. Him and I also shared the pretzels, which seems like a frozen product that they just cooked in an oven. They were not equal in size and you only got two of them which were very small. my husband got a hamburger which he was asked how he would like it cooked. He replied medium. Came out well done. The last meal ordered was chicken Cordon Bleu, which could not have had any less filling or it would've had none. We asked our waitress for our check when our food came as we had somewhere to be. We got to the restaurant with plenty of time over an hour and a half before we had to be to our event, which should've been plenty of time. when we were finished, we had to go up to the hostess station which no one was at and stand there and wait for someone to cash us out so we could leave. This meal was over $140. So not worth it I don't believe we will be returning. It's unfortunate as it was good the two other times we went. read more

Return trip. Walked in and were seated Quickly. Waitstaff was great and attentive to our wishes. Nachos were good. Could use some snap to them. Drinks were pretty good. Definitely a local resident go too. Seemed everyone knew each other which is fun to watch. read more

Thursday night $5 half apps?? Yessssss. Did they look like halves? No! We were planning on dinner but our apps were big enough to carry us through. Nachos were good! Definitely had the feel of a local bar and grill. Several large televisions that allowed us to watch game one of the Bruins. Waitress was beyond nice. She also had a good sense of humor and checked on us regularly, while running around cleaning, takeout etc. wife had a cheeseburger with a sunny side egg, it was cooked perfectly to a medium rare. Fries were nice and crispy, but portion seemed small. It was Mexican Monday, a name I'm sure will offend some, but the tacos, bowls, enchiladas and dirty rice they had was so cheap. I had all of the tacos they offered, and will say that the shrimp taco was my favorite. They also came with sour cream, salsa and guacamole, without an up charge! read more

To be honest I wouldn't even give this a one star onlny reason is because of Melissa, I've gone a few sundays in the last month and she's just god awful..... no personality, rude, rolls her eyes when we've arrived. replies with "yup" when said thank you to and of that doesn't tell you how much she hates her job than I don't know what does. Its a shame she even has to be there when I enjoy that place every other time I've been. If you don't like your job why even be there. moral of the story avoid this place on Sunday nights. read more

Love this hidden gem! Good food, great atmosphere, live music, and the best waitress, Sarah. We liked it here so much we returned 3 times during our vacation. We highly recommend this pub. I would give 3.5 stars to 405 pub and grill, our waitress was good the hostess took our temperatures upon entry. My house Chardonnay was chilled to perfection in a nice clean wine glass. The food was just okay though, not bad, but nothing that made me super happy. We asked to be seated in the dining room area as it was empty and the bar was packed. We shared mozzarella sticks and spinach dip. The mozzarella sticks were good the dip not so much. I had the chicken pot pie it was okay, the crust was a bit overdone and the pot pie under it tasted like Campbell's cream of chicken. One daughter had a burger the other a pizza and the pizza went over better than the burger. My husband ordered the Greek salad which we both thought said feta on top but it had Gorgonzola on top which he doesn't like. read more

The 405 Pub is running the pumpkin festival beer garden where they are charging anyone who pays with a credit card an extortionate $2 fee to do so...that's a 40% increase on a $5 bud light draft...there's no sign indicating this either...if you don't want to take credit cards, don't, but if you do you shouldn't gouge people who use them. Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday during a basketball game with my boyfriend, wasn't sure what to expect. We were simply hungry & running errands while in the area. We walked in & it was pretty busy. The hostess mentioned that it gets pretty "rowdy" in the bar area (which was full anyway) so we were brought to a table tucked away in the back. I understand how the pandemic has affected staffing & things like that, but when our waitress has to request for the hostess to take our drink orders because she can't get over to us, that seems concerning. We would wait a great deal of time in between the visits from the waitress to order our food & more drinks. Mind you, we were drinking our beers a lot slower than we typically would just because we weren't sure when we would get a refill. Let's talk pricing. Their menu is expensive for the items that they have! About all of the burgers were around $16.95! I had a turkey BLT wrap that I later discover was $13.95. I could be wrong, but that seems a bit steep for a sandwich with fries (I would think it would be more around an average of $8.95 to $10.95 or so). My boyfriend ordered the Jack Daniels burger which was supposed to have a Jack Daniels-flavored BBQ sauce slathered on it, but there was absolutely none on it. Either the kitchen forgot or there was some sort of miscommunication. We didn't say anything, though. If you like IPA's, they only have 1 on tap (Clown Shoes or something). Otherwise, for a bar scene, they didn't have much for draft. Mostly bottled & canned beer. Anyway, at least we ate. The food was okay. The presentation was nice, wasn't expecting that. The Appetizer we got was nachos and they did not disappoint, the half order was enough to feed us 2 probably for an entire meal but we already ordered dinner so we had to save some room. The steak tips my girlfriend got were really good except for about half of the tips were rare maybe even black n blue. She ordered medium. Great food. One of their specials was a queso dip appetizer that was really good. The steakbomb was delicious, the best I've had in years. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was, definitely plan to go back for that again. They have a great kids menu too! Our server was very friendly and took excellent care of us.
