To update my review we stopped here the other day for lunch and we were not disappointed! We had a wonderful waitress, I think her name was Rachel, and she was very attentive without being hovering. The fish and chips I had were amazing and so was the french onion soup. I didn't get a picture of the soup because I dove in and made a mess before I thought of it. Everything was clean and the bathroom had warm water! I was so happy about that because so many places we go the bathroom is freezing cold and the water is like ice. We stopped here on our way to Burke Mtn VT. I got the Fabulous Reuban. It was a good choice. My wife and daughter split the Beet Salad, Onion soup and Chicken Wrap. They found the Soup excellent, the Chicken Wrap a bit salty but ok, and the beet salad in dire need of lettuce. A beet salad without greens is a side order of vegetables. The service was acceptable. We went with coworkers for lunch. I brought with me a new person who has never met the group. We ordered that was great. Then the new coworker got her food or so she thought. She started to eat off her plate. Then waitress goes oh no that's not yours and took it from her. Gave her the correct one. Then gave the plate she was eating off of to another person. Then came back and said you need to give me a tender so I can give it to the other person Like what!! Then the manager said this was okay. That the waitress asked. No she did not. She told and took. Stopped at the Red Blazer for lunch after visiting the NH Lottery headquarters right down the street--and I'm so glad we did! I ordered the Vegan Burger, and it was honestly one of the best I've ever had. It was topped with the most scrumptious sautéed broccoli, mushrooms, onions, lettuce, and tomato. Broccoli on a burger sounded strange at first, but OMG--after the first bite, I was hooked. It was out-of-this-world delicious. I paired it with their crispy onion rings, which were perfectly golden and crunchy. My friend had the Fabulous Reuben, and he said it was one of the best he's ever had. The corned beef, Swiss, sauerkraut, and their Thousand Island dressing were perfectly balanced, and the marbled rye was grilled to perfection. This place had really good food, but the reason why I gave it such a low rating is because the music had the F word blaring in a song and it was more than once. The waitress was very attended and very kind. Our food came promptly and we were in and out which I liked because of the music. My buffalo chicken sandwich was awesome and the blue cheese that came with it was just as good. There were four of us at 4 PM on Thursday. As a first visit, we didn't realize prices switch from lunch to dinner at 4, and that's why this HuGE restaurant was almost empty when we arrived. Even though it had been recommended, an empty restaurant is a red flag to me, so I was feeling trepidation. The menu is family fare..something for everyone..and it's big. That's another possible red flag. Anyhow, our waitress was excellent, and drinks and menus were provided right away. Eyeing a special and the accompanying sides, I had to ask the dreaded question "Do you make your mashed potatoes in-house fresh." Our waitress then let us know that everything on the menu is fresh, so we dove in. The girls both got fettuccini Alfredo. The daughter got some kind of stuffed chicken breast encased in a pastry. I got the pork schnitzel special encrusted with pumpkins seeds and drizzled with a lemon cream sauce. We also got loaded nachos and potato skins as table finger food. Damn! It was good. Everyone liked their meals, and the girls were fighting over the last of the nachos. Shockingly, they had even given us enough condiments including sour cream, a rarity at restaurants nowadays. We were stuffed, and yet they are known for their desserts. So we brought 3 home to split. There were family feuds over the last of the mint cheesecake bomb. Im not sure who won. The bill came to about $150 and we ordered a lot of food. Nothing is inexpensive any longer. That being said, the pricing was very fair. The resturant was recommended by some friends we were skiing with. Stopped there for a quick dinner on the way home. When you walk in you first see a case with lots of desserts. I grabbed 4 of these on the way out for family at home. They were about $32 for the dessert. For dinner there was 3 adults and 3 kids the food came out quickly. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the sesame, crusted salmon that was excellent. Many of the kids had Caesar salad, which was very good with chicken. Their breaded chicken was not overly breaded light and had a nice flavor to it. Someone at the table had the big stuffed cod, which I absolutely would try next time. It looked delicious. Stopped in on a whim while in the area. Best decision ever. We were greeted by super friendly staff and locals at the bar. We sat at the bar and Kim took care of us. She is awesome. The drink choices are a plenty and prices reasonable. We started with the wings and they were cooked perfectly. For our meals, my honey had the salmon and he was very happy with it. I had the harvest apple salad with added Cajun shrimp. It was huge and delicious. If I could find one (minor) fault it would be that I would have crumbled goat cheese on this salad, but even without it, it was extremely flavorful and delicious. The Red Blazer is a good sized restaurant which is run with precision. Everyone seemed happy to be there including the staff. A true family business with dad and one son in the kitchen and number two son overseeing the dining room. We were made to feel like family or a long-time family friend despite having never been there before. We had a couple of beers and the full nacho app as our dinner. The nachos were outstanding with lots of melted cheese and the sautéed vegetables and pulled chicken beneath. A meal in itself. This place lately is hit or miss, especially the service. Food is usually pretty good but items are forgotten, fries were cold. Waited for anyone to come back and ask how your meal was so I could ask for tartar sauce that was forgotten. No waitstaff came over until we finally stacked plates at end of table. Water glasses never filled. There was a new waitress/bartender and was clueless how to make drinks. Extra dry martini does not mean mostly vermouth. Once we were finished we were told by a waitress that walked by she would be back to get the bill as it was sitting on table with our card for over 12 minutes, never came back so we flagged down another asking could they take it. The person next to us asked is this bar having a bad day as no one came over to wait on them either but two of the waitstaff were just chatting and laughing in the small room near bar. We were an inconvenience and the waitstaff felt more like visiting with each other and one table. I think waitstaff waits on whom ever but poor communication as it was not working. Please check this out as this was not a good experience. Waitstaff can make it a good or bad experience even with cold fries and forgotten tarter. read more

My husband was skeptical at first, but I was intrigued by the fact there was both a chowder of the day and a soup of the day (it is soup season!!!). I convinced him to give it a try while we were up in NH peeping leaves like a thousand other tourists, and it turned out to be a great find! We were sad that the first three things we asked for on the menu they were out of. Huge bummer. What is coconut chicken tenders?! I have to know! Not this time around, unfortunately. They didn't have the bacon wrapped scallops either. But our waiter was friendly and the food we got was delightful (bacon and corn chowder a definite win. My husband loved the onion soup!). We have driven by many times, but never stopped in. Today we did and boy are we glad! We sat at a high top in the bar area. The place is very clean and spacious. Service was great, food was excellent. Hubby had the steak bomb with fries. Some of the best fries I've had in New Hampshire!! I had their beet salad and onion soup. The beet salad was huge and delicious. The tangy balsamic reduction was the perfect touch to complement the naturally sweet beets. The onion soup was piping hot and perfect. They have 32 beers on tap! Everything was great, but the one thing that struck me the most, was that all the workers seemed genuinely happy, and glad to be there. We had a group of 12 that we brought to the restaurant for a small wedding reception dinner. They were efficient and attentive and dealt fabulously with a couple very picky people in our party. Everyone's dinner was excellent and this included a lot of seafood dishes, a couple cheeseburgers, a steak and some chicken dishes. Our waitress, Kathy was exceptional and helped us select a cake from their wonderful selection of desserts and proceeded to cut and serve us all. The groom's boutonniere was falling off and Kathy offered to put it in a box in the refrigerator to preserve it while we were there. We went to Red Blazer as we have irregularly since Sarandis reopened it way back 20 some odd years ago. We live a little way from Concord so don't get there as much as we would if we lived closer. At the time we had a vacation home west of Concord so went there almost every weekend. The last time we were there a few weeks ago, my husband got the BROILED SEA SCALLOPS which were described on the menu as "dry" and he said were excellent. This time I thought I would get the scallops but felt like having them fried instead. My husband felt like having clams but is very particular and only like the tender Essex or Ipswich clams. He asked about them and was told they were the very small neck clams. So, I ordered the Fried Scallops and he ordered the Clam/Scallop combo which they made for him. I just assumed the restaurant used dry scallops in all their entrees. The entrees came out and looked very good. I cut one of the scallops in half and knew right away the scallops were wet not "DRY" scallops. Now the description on the menu says the fried scallops are "PREMIUM". The description on the broiled scallops says "DRY". There are only wet scallops and dry scallops. I think the "premium" description is to trick one into thinking they are dry. As I did. When I cut the fried scallops in half they were loaded with water, the coating fell off because they were so wet when they were breaded, and they had NO TASTE AND WERE MUSHY. Now I know a lot about scallops and can tell if they are treated with chemicals like sodium triphosphates a mile away. I can tell raw and I can tell cooked. These were treated with chemicals and were disgusting. My husband said the same thing. He also mentioned that the necks on the "little neck" clams were so rubbery you could not eat them. I mentioned to the waitress who was very nice and attentive by the way, and she took my entrée back right away. The manager came out and asked what else I would like. I did ask if I could order the Pasta Primavera which was my obsession way back when Pedro and Sarandis first opened. Obviously, whoever cooked it doesn't have the recipe because it was nothing like it once was. Wish that original recipe was still on the menu. I think the moral of the story is, if you're serving a product that has been treated with chemicals as wet scallops are, you should let people know. I am highly sensitive to STPP and MSG. Had I known that the fried scallops were wet and treated with chemicals, I would have never ordered. Instead of using the word "premium" which means nothing.. use the word "wet". I do realize using the word "chemically treated" is offensive to most people, they should know what they are getting. I would have ordered the broiled scallops, a steak, the chicken baked in pastry, or any other number of things. Dry scallops smell of the sea when they're raw, and are rich, sweet, and smooth when properly prepared. They are most definitely more expensive than wet. But I will pay that price any day not to get chemicals in them. The word "premium" in the description for the fried scallops is a dirty trick as I'm sure the owners know that as well.....There is no such thing as premium scallops. It leads one into thinking they are dry. I will never return to this restaurant. read more

We have driven by this establishment many times but never thought it would be our type of restaurant. Thank goodness we decided to give it a try on the recommendation of a friend. The parking lot was packed on a weeknight at 7pm. Good business is a good sign! There is plenty of parking, so no issues finding a spot. The entrance/waiting area was an area I could've just stopped and ogled over the baked goods behind the glass for a while longer, but the super friendly hostess seated us straight away. The dining area was quite large with many tables and booths, and appeared to be pretty full. Our waitress was very friendly and patient while we waited for our party to arrive. I ordered the Maple Chicken pizza with a side of broccoli and it was all quite delicious. The blend of flavors on my pizza was mouth watering good! They didn't overdo it with the cheese nor the red onions, and the smoked chicken was tender and plentiful, as was the bacon. The maple glaze added such a nice touch that it evened out the crust, which didn't have too much flavor. I also just have to mention the broccoli was cooked perfectly and had a light seasoning flavor! Hubby ordered the Blazer steak tip wrap with a side of onion rings. He states that the steak tip was cooked very well and had a great taste. The onion rings were the type he loves- just lightly battered, which is hard to find! Our friend ordered the fish and chips and really enjoyed his dish. I think he ate everything on his plate! I tried some of his fries, and I'm super picky about my fries...and let me say, they nailed it with the crispy factor and the flavor factor . We decided to try their dessert after reading here how delicious they were, and we were NOT disappointed! I got the raspberry buttercream frosting vanilla cake with graham cracker crust. Hubby got the almond joy cake. Our friend ordered the carrot cheesecake. Absolutely amazing. These cakes may look small, but they were quite filling! We loved that they were individual cakes, as sliced cakes can dry out. These cakes were so obviously freshly made and with such care and quality ingredients. HIGHLY recommend if you eat here, to save room for dessert! All in all, a great restaurant. Don't let the exterior deceive you, as the food is quality. The menu is quite assorted- there is something for everyone. The interior could use some updating, but in the end, the friendly wait staff and the food were wonderful! read more

Took my son and his family to this place on our last night visiting Concord. We started with the loaded nachos and homemade onion rings. The nachos were great and there's something about perfectly lightly breaded onion rings. My daughter in law had the Steak Bomb sandwich which looked really good. I did the Three Way Fisherman's platter. Every time I get a fisherman's platter, I feel like oil is oozing out of me later in the night. Not with this one. Again, nicely breaded and not heavy.
