Worst restaurant ever! NEVER GO HERE! Food is over priced for just okay and bad honestly. So this is gonna sound weird and not like a recommendation but it is not meant in that way. Let me try to explain. Do you remember school lunch? Like it's not known for being the best but there were one or two things that you would celebrate when they came up every couple of weeks. For me that was chicken fried steak day. Forget rectangle pizza or sub sandwich day. I was all in for the chicken fried steak. Well I went to 9th St., Grill and the special was chicken fried steak. Now I'm a fat guy, I've eaten a lot of chicken fried steaks from a lot of places. I've had high end chicken fried steak all the way to the pre-cooked frozen bargain bin variety. but this chicken fried steak took me right back 20 years to being in school. It was larger than the ones you got at school, but exactly the same flavor, the mashed potatoes were spot on the same as well, even the gravy tasted the same. I know for a lot of people, that doesn't sound like a selling point. But I almost ordered a second one while I reveled in nostalgia. This is going to sound Braggadocious, and it kind of is, but once when I was in high school, when you could go back as many times as you wanted as long as you had money on your lunch card, when I was in the bottomless pit stage where a growing boy can never get enough food to be full, I ate 14 of those chicken fried steaks. The service was great, wait staff was friendly and fast. They checked on me and made sure everything was what I wanted. I don't really know if this review will be helpful. I had the steak and eggs and they came with hash browns and toast. Everything was okay besides the steak.. I had to put a bunch of A1 to take away from the not so tasty meaty taste. When it came to finding a good place to eat in Crete, my sister and I found the options were between 9th St. Grill, China Wall or Cristina's (where you eat Mexican food in a Sonic building). We chose the grill. For an appetizer, we shared a basket of fried mushrooms. The ranch was fantastic, the mushrooms were just like any other frozen, fried mushrooms. For our main course, each ordered tenderloins. Now, in our hometown, tenderloins are the to eat menu item so we were pretty disappointed when our food came to our table. These were the fake kind of tenderloins. With that thin, crumby breading. We are used to hand beaten and hand dipped in flour and milk, huge, fluffy, tenderloins. These were ok and the curly fries were just ok too. The waitress also forgot the slice of American cheese we asked for and my drinking glass was dry and stayed that way for far too long. The first thing I noticed going into the restaurant is that it is really dark. Had to pull out my phone to see the menu clearly. The Christmas lights and garland are a nice touch for the holidays but a little more light would be nice. We just came in for appetizers while visiting family from out of town. Mainly to grab a quick bite to tide us all over til dinner. Our server was nice but between him and the owner checking on us it was a bit hard to visit. But at least they were friendly! My husband ordered the Mozzarella sticks to share and they were ok. Nothing special but not bad either. We ordered a slice of apple pie to split. It was ok a bit soggy but no wow factor. Breakfast there was amazing! Eggs were perfectly cooked. Hash browns were nicely browned. Biscuits and gravy were delicious! Everything was delicious but it was sooo filling we could not even eat it all! Definitely a great place to eat. The service was excellent. Small town diner fee with small town diner food and service. Nothing super special but decent food and very reasonable prices. If you're looking for a local place with standard American diner menu, this is probably a place to keep in mind. read more

Meh, out riding the Harley and decided to stop in. Wife and I thought we would go with the special the chicken fried steak. It wasn't too bad but the potatoes were instant. As far as a sports bar, that's arguable. They have tv's but they're on two of the four walls (one over the pool table too). They need to update the tv's. But then it is a restaurant and sports bar not sports bar and restaurant. read more

Been coming here for the four years my son's been at Doane College. The people are super friendly, they have a great atmosphere with TVs all around, and the food is always good. We often came in after soccer games with a group of parents and players and the large numbers never phased them! In a small town with not a lot of choices, I'm happy to have found this place! read more

I thought I would try this again 1 week later and guess what? Over an hour wait for food AGAIN. The heavier lady with gray hair basically told me she didn't care and replied "whatever" when I told her I would never come back. Dear owners of 9th street grill: you need to fix your restaurant in a hurry. If you only have a kitchen big enough for 4 tables at a time, perhaps you should remove the additional 20 or figure out how to serve the number of people in your restaurant. read more

Great stop in Crete Nebraska! If you are close it's a must. I had the prime rib melt and my buddy had the meatloaf which was the special that today. Both meal turned out to be excellent! Service was perfect atmosphere was laid back. Wish this place was in Tulsa! read more

We both got all you can eat fish, waitress only came around once every 15 min , and the fish refill is only one peace, takes 10 min to get more fish . Food was great but the service was horrible. read more
