First they told me the price would be anywhere between 85-125 and I was mad already because the last place I used charged me $60. Then they get there and try to charge me $190 because of my car. Finally after enough dispute they charged me $150. I was infuriated because I could have gone to my insurance and paid nothing but didn't want to wait 3 hours when they said 20 minutes, turned out being an hour and some change. After talking to the assistant on the phone she reviewed the charge and went back down to the initial $80. I changed my 1 star rating to 3. Only because she was so nice and responded quickly. I will never be calling this service again.

I spoke with John who told me that the charge for a technician to come to the site would be $29, and that the Technician would come with locks that we could choose from. He added that the lock starts from $30. Appointment made, and confirmed for 10:30 am on Thursday, 3/25/2021.Technician David (phone no. 540-495-1782) came to the address. He informed me and my husband that the charge was $320. I informed him of what John that I spoke with told me about pricing. "The person you spoke with is not licensed and that is the price." He took advantage of the presence of the two Sheriffs in attendance, and time constraint. He ended taking $409 cash from us. The receipt sent to my cell phone showed $309, for two locks. The receipt has A1 Locksmith on it. David only changed one lock. I called several times to talk with the Manager Jay (Day) who said he would call back after contacting the Technician. We left voicemail message on David's Cell phone (No. 540-495-1782) calling his attention that he only changed one lock and got $409 from us. David called back and denied changing one lock. He also denied getting $409 from us. "I only got $309 from you. I think you have problem with your wife. F... you" He said and hung up. The technician rate is in excess of $100 per hour. 2. There was no estimate provided to us beforehand - this is completely not standard and unprofessional. 3. When a problem arose, the technician (Eric Smith) completely lost his cool and was incredibly rude and condescending to the point of being hostile. My family almost asked me to throw him out. 4. There is no transparency to the costs of the lock that was purchased on our behalf - no receipt. It's simply - pay the bill or else. The locksmith from the Lock Doctor came and just bent a piece of metal in the mechanism that had become warped in the cold weather. Needless to say, the bill was nowhere near $895. If the locksmith you are using wants to be paid upfront, jacks up the price after doing the work, or works out of a fake address, you should beware. The first locksmith I had called had an address at 14th and Park roads right around the corner from me, but I later went by there and there was no locksmith anywhere on the block. Postscript: someone noted that the locksmith I recommend doesn't have a specific address, which is kind of funny given my comments above. I believe he works only on-site and doesn't maintain a physical store front (as scammer locksmith I used first fraudulently advertised). He lives in Logan Circle, so that represents the area from which he works.

The dispatcher told me to expect a call within two hours when the technician was 5-10 minutes away. Less than an hour later, Ahmad called to let me know he was coming and he arrived about 5 minutes after that. Ahmad was extremely professional, explaining their rates, diagnosing the issue, quickly solving the problem with a new sensor installation and rewire job, and giving me a quick primer on how to keep the sensors working well. I could not believe that my garage door was expertly fixed less than two hours after I called and that the costs were within the estimated rate. Bonus: he left the work area cleaner than how he found it. I appreciate how quickly I received service, how well Ahmad repaired the issue, and how affordable the repair was. I really love when service technicians deliver on their promises. If something happens to my door again, I will definitely call them.
