I've been there for a year now and my experience has been just awesome. The staff are very kind warm welcoming people. The units are very affordable, the best I've seen all throughout this area. The units are also clean and I've had no problems with pests, rodents or roaches. And I love the way they drive around in the cart when people come in checking on who is there. Therefore I don't have to worry about storing my stuff there. I totally recommend going there. read more

Moved into this place in a hurry because it was the cheapest in town... I just moved out after seeing the condition of my unit! Mouse poop and pee everywhere... They even chewed some of my belongings... not weather proof! There was wet concrete and mold under a lot of my bins... I have brought all these concerns to the attention of management and they said they will be handling the problem! But just be vigilant of your stuff... Would probably be a good idea to check your unit once a week or so and let management know as soon as you see an issue. Everyone who works here is super nice and helpful! read more

I visited the North Highlands/Rio Linda location today to help my friend empty two units. I had never been there before. The attendant, Rose, came through on her golf cart, brought us waters, explained where the bathroom was, and was very helpful. I would rent here if the need arose! read more

After renting several storage units in the area, I can assure you this is one of the best. Mary Rose is the manager there and is courteous and respectful and provides EXCELLENT customer service. She is friendly, sincere and tells people upfront about the policies (unfortunately I can not say the same about other storage facilities in the area). Mary went out of her way to show me where my unit was after the first day and took the time to answer any questions I had. They even have cupcakes and snacks in the office and no other storage facility has that. I have learned from owning my own business that it is those small things that make a difference. And on top of that their rates are very competitive and they have drive up access. In a day of age where tweakers and unscrupulous people sometimes ruin it for the rest of us, it is refreshing to see that there is still some businesses out there that value the customer. read more

just now I was very pleased to use A1 Budget Storage. I'm happy to say there were no hidden fees or rate hikes, and the rates are very reasonable. Cancellation when it was time to move was lhassle-free. The staff was super friendly and I want to thank Derek for being a huge help when we had difficulty manuevering a long truck and trailer. These folks are the best! I don't think you can find a cheaper storage in the area and they frequently run specials. The grounds are clean and the owners keep a close eye on what goes on there, you won't find any homeless folks sleeping in storage lockers or poking around that's for sure. I vacated the storage because I didn't need it anymore but it was a pleasure renting from them. The only downside is that they close very early and that can make it inconvenient at times but it's still a great place read more

Friendly staff 1+ Affordability 1+ -3 points mouse/rat infestation If you store your items here make sure it's less than 4 months. On the 5th month we went to pick up a few items and found mouse droppings everywhere. We talked to management and they gave us a few traps to set. We were told upon move in that this establishment was rodent free. We did not have food in the unit as we were asked. We were at a loss and knew we would have to throw away all our furniture. We were able to salvage a few items that were stored in plastic bins but everything in a cardboard box was infested with dropping. We took a load of our belongings to the dump. It was heartbreaking. So remember if you store your belongings here use plastic bins and don't store furniture /mattress etc it will be ruined Set mouse traps and check your belonging monthly read more

I looked all around for an affordable place to store my stuff. I found this place when I came in it was very clean the lady at the desk was kind to me and helpful with all of my crazy questions. I've had bad experiences at other places with their prices and rude attitudes I'm glad i found this place. They make me feel like family not just a customer. I got a storage here for my wife's, son, and I was told this place use to be an old chicken farm where they store and raised chickens. They do have good deals here, but as far as security goes, I would put anything valuable in some of there storages. They lady who runs the place, is very nice, and humble. They keep the place clean, maintained, and there trusting. read more
