Technician was friendly and professional. He said that the sealant is water activated and won't fully cure until one or two rain events, so I don't know if it's successful yet but I'm fairly confident it will do the trick. My only complaint is that he didn't mask the area before starting. The sealant continues to ooze out for a while afterwards and it ran down my painted wall and onto my painted floor. It was very difficult to remove; I had to use a hammer and a scraper, and it removed the paint when it came off the wall and the floor. There was also a stain on the floor where he spilled something. It's just a basement, and I would need to paint over the crack anyway, but the damage would have been much smaller if he had put some good masking tape on the wall and plastic on the floor. (He put some paper towels on the floor to catch the overflow but that only succeeded in gluing the towels to the floor. I think the company's product is good and I would recommend using them to fix your foundation cracks; just be sure they protect the surrounding area. read more

The service provider called to informed me that he would arrive within 30 minutes and definitely within the time window given me. He explained to me how he would seal the two cracks in our basement wall and proceeded to make the repair in a timely manner. When he finished he cleaned up the area that he worked in and informed me that we might see some water seepage after the first rain because sealant used is water activated. I had a fine crack in my foundation which allowed rain water to seep through the crack into my basement. A month later it was still leaking they came out again supposedly found the leak fixed it it leaks worse now than it ever did before. Please avoid if you are thinking of hiring for Lally Columns replacement. Rich claims on the phone that he replaces 300-400 of them a year. On his blog he claims that they replace thousands of them a year. In reality, he does not replace any. I have scheduled my appointment with Rich (owner) 45 days in advance. Re-confirmed two weeks before the date, re-confirmed again the day before the install and the end he cancelled on me at 7:30am in the morning on the day. He simply stated that he does not feel comfortable with the job. He has no confidence. The problem is, Rich does not know how to REPLACE lally columns. He only knows how to ADD lally columns. He refuses to take old ones out and not too sure about how to deal when a footing is required. To make a long story short. You need lally columns, replaced? This is not the place to do it. My personal advice to Rich - stick to what you know - fixing cracks in the foundation. read more

They look and sound like they know what they are doing, but they're more like kids playing dress up and pretending to be contractors when they're not. They scheduled us three weeks out. Then, they didn't show up. When I called, they told me they had mistakenly put our appointment in their 2022 calendar instead of 2023. Not a problem. Everyone makes a mistake. They rescheduled us, came out and installed the footings for new lally columns. They were to return two days later to install the lally columns on the footings. They did not. And, they did not return multiple emails and phone messages. Eventually, they sat a date, three weeks later. I took that day off to be there during the window they provided. They called an hour later than the window to let me know that they were stuck in New Hampshire, and could I be available the next day. I reminded them that I had taken the day off to be there. I was not in a position to take a second day in a row off from work. However, I really had no choice so I left work early, which was unnecessary because they were again late, so late that I could have finished my work day. Finally, the finished the job. While they thanked me for "working with the scheduling," they never said, "Oh boy, we've really messed this one up and we feel responsible for the hassle that we've put you through." Seriously, this job is supposed to be two half days of work. It took seven weeks to get them to the finish line... and, we had to carry them across it. Adam has a super friendly and polite demeanor. They have a nicely decorated work truck. In the end, these guys are playing at being contractors. Actors in costumes. I don't think it crossed their minds that we were waiting to unpack all of our things in the basement until they were done so that we could open the boxes after cleaning up from their cement dust. Again, that should have been a two-day delay, but set us back seven weeks. They would need first to understand how improbably poor their performance was -- and, they're not there yet -- before they could get a fuller understanding of its impact on their customers' bigger picture. read more

Nice enough, but poor workmanship and no follow through.. Hired A-1 to replace an undersized sump well and plumb it outside with PVC. I was totally dissatisfied with the work that they did, the workmanship was poor, joints were mickey moused together and even leaked when the sump turned on. I had to rip out the whole thing out and replumb it the next weekend. I called to voice my frustration, the owner was nice enough and said that he would refund part of the job. That was a month ago and I haven't heard back or seen a check in the mail (I've called back multiple times). read more
