Needed to have the guide cable on garage door fixed/reattached. Left a message for service - Rick called back within 10 min. I explained the problem; he said that he could come by in the afternoon, same day. Arrived as he stated, fixed the cable & pointed out a few features about the garage door system that I was not familiar with (it is an older Craftsman garage door). The install was done in the city of Buffalo, NY. Called Rick on Monday 3-11-2024 to talk about a new garage door. Told him I think it over. Call Rick Tuesday 3-12-2024 and told him I want it installed. He came in 4 hours to check out my garage and I put a deposit down. Wednesday 3-13-2024 the door was installed and the old one removed from my property. It took approx. 2 1/2 hours for the install. Rick did a great job. I give him and the job an A+. read more

At 8 pm on a Friday night I noticed that one of the springs on my garage door was broken. I was concerned that I would find no one to repair it over the weekend. A1 advertised 24 hour service so I called and actually spoke to a human being on Friday night. I was amazed. I was even more amazed when the technician arrived right on time Saturday morning and replaced my springs, oiled the hardware, and fixed some trim around the door that was coming away from the house. After having "716 Garage" come the day before when my door would not open. 716 garage only spent 20 minutes and was more concerned on selling me a new door rather then fixing it. The next day my door wouldn't open at all. I called A1 service Rick was here in 45 minutes and spent over an hour correcting my tracks and door that were completely out of line. I was reluctant to invest in a new garage door. Every door that hubby and I have ever owned has been reduced to a large, cumbersome slab that needs to be hoisted up and held up with a large, heavy stick or tree pruning shears. Convenience is not something that we value - don't even get me started on my portable dishwasher. Anyway, after listening to hubby drone on and on about the practicality and safety of a new door, I caved. Called around and eventually ended up with A-1. Rick Larkin, the owner, lives in the neighborhood and I like to keep my business local. Everything about this garage door purchase/replacement was professional. The end cost was actually far less than I had expected and it included a garage door opener (no more hoisting and propping for me!!), a really cool window and a key pad in addition to two remotes. Humor me here, this is luxury I am not accustomed to! The process was two weeks from order to install. The door is heavily insulated and my cats have figured out how to scare the crap out of me by hitting the remote on the kitchen counter during the dead of night.
