In 40 years, I've had to replace only of the original 32 I had installed. And this was not a fault of the window but of the old house's window frame shifting on the weather side. They sell quality windows and doors, use experienced installers, and are well organized. DEALING WITH THEM IS SO EASY. When you phone, a company person answers the phone and responds to your need. DONE! Their follow-up repair service is also excellent. They respond, however small the problem.

We decided to go with Big L because they are local and felt like we wanted to support the "little" local company. We signed the contract and off we went. Our doors came in, were installed. They stiffed us on the first installation day, but then showed up unexpectedly a few days later. The problem is, the doors they installed were the wrong color and not what we ordered and the hardware was wrong. One screen was slashed from top to bottom. This wasn't evident until after they were installed. Our house is architecturally significant, and the installer had to create new holes and install hardware where there wasn't hardware before. Big L indicated they could just swap out the doors and get us the right color, but that that would leave us with holes and damage from the original installation. Not optimal. After MONTHS of badgering us for payment, but not making any effort to remedy the wrong hardware or ripped screen, we paid a reduced balance, and are left with doors that don't match our house, aren't what we wanted, and without any service to make it right. Oh, and the screen on one of them is still trashed. I wouldn't recommend Big L. There are lots of small companies out there. Try one of those instead.

They had to fix a number of issues including dry-rot, lack of insulation, replacing various layers of the exterior around the windows and weather-proofing the house in parts where it was lacking. They came out in a very timely manner to provide a quote. Corvair clearly explains the work he is carrying out and is very knowledgeable at what he does. Their team is hard-working on-site. Upon discovering some further issues, he offered options on how to proceed, some of which involved more work but when he reached those decision points he was very clear and prompt as to what the benefit of the additonal work at the time. I trust the quality and of their work and will keep coming back to Charge Construction. Him and his team do great work and the prices are fair for the quality of service provided. (I didn't post every photo but here are some)

Dan came out the next day to size up the job. He was prompt and very knowledgeable about what Jeff was looking to have done. The patio door was ordered and came in approximately 3 weeks later. Dan and his crew were able to come out to do the job within a couple of days and completed the job in a day and a half just like he promised. They cleaned up and the installation went smoothly. Order took longer to come in then quoted ...found this out after calling a week after arrival date.Installers were given a weekday and weekend day as availability .Neither were convenient for THEM ! Had to call owner to get a more reasonable date .When the day came several installers arrived ( friendly) but work was not without issues. We were told our 10yr old screen door which was in good condition could not be installed without gaps. They did not have replacement parts in color to match (told... you can paint the one we put on! )Then they installed WRONG door! When the owner was contacted he blamed factory.NO apology until I called to complain. We were told they would do a rush order and all problems would be fixed when they came back.4 wks later I had to call to find out where our door was??!Again no apology ,they came installed door and did very poor job of fixing gaps etc. The reply I received when I told him how disappointed we were in his professionalism, workmanship and lack of any offer to compensate the issues was "Well it wasn't my fault the factory screwed up" ! The lady at the showroom was helpful and to the point. Workers were good. They didn't have enough people on the job to get the sliding glass door upstairs, but they called in extra help and got there right away and got the job done. Everything went well.
