We have used them since we bought our house and they are consistently good in communication and reliability. They have replaced our garage door and lifter and come back for maintenance checks every few years. We recently had to get a new outside keypad because the original one no longer worked. The technician said that they typically last eight years and we got about ten, so that's pretty good! I called to get a quote on replacing our old garage door! They were very nice and sent someone over within a few days! They were very nice and friendly! They gave us a brochure to pick the door we wanted and gave us an estimate which was very reasonable! We ordered the door and within about 2 weeks it was in stock! The gentleman that came to install the door was right on time and very courteous. I think his name was Sean! He worked his butt off all day, by himself, in really poor weather! Called Bartlett needed garage door repair. Lenny came out and reinstalled belt onto the operator caused by a birds nest. charged $99.99 service charge and parts and labor total was $153.88 he was here no longer than 10 minutes he also charged me to to lubricate the door with out asking i had just did it myself about a month before he left a sign on my front lawn with out even asking and was on his way . 4 days later the same thing happened t. i called Lenny he said he would come back because he was just around the corner. Birds nest was back. took another 10 minutes. He charged me another $99.99 service charge and then for the labor to take the birds nest out for a second time.i expected to pay for his time to reconnect the door but not another $99.99 for the service charge seeing it was only 4 days since he had been here and also he said he was right around the corner! I debated the 2nd service charge, He said he was going to remove the belt. then he said he was going to call the police and i would be charged with a misdemeanor for theft of service. i felt like he was trying to scare me . I went to get my check book i still could not justify the second service charge. i then offered to pay $50, he said very rudely to me if that would make my day he would do it. I have been a good customer to be treated this way is sinful. i would never recommend this company to anyone.What has happened to treating a good customer with some loyalty . TLDR: I had one great experience and one terrible experience. I highly recommend confirming all costs before working with them. Review: I used Bartlett in the past and my first experience was great. The second one was very disappointing. I needed torsion spring s replaced. I asked for a quote and received $300, which seemed in line with the going rate online. The tech came out, confirmed the repair, asked if I needed to replace the other spring. Both springs ended up costing just under $300. Labor was $140. Service call fee was $100. Tax brought the total to $575, which was almost double the estimate. I have not heard back. read more

My son called me Monday evening to tell me his garage door wouldn't open. With him living close by I went over for a quick look. Upon arriving the problem was apparent, one of the springs had broken. Having had the same problem 5 or 6 months ago and having been happy with with Bartlett Overhead Door, I suggested he give them a call. He called on Tuesday and was given an appointment for Wednesday morning. I'm working from home so I volunteered to meet the repair person. He arrived promptly at the appointment time and wasted no time in getting to work. The springs were replaced quickly. I watched him work and was impressed at how quick and efficient he was in his actions. It was obvious that he was very proficient at his job. I asked him if he could check over the door and recommend maintenance or repair items to prevent future trouble. He recommended that the rollers be replaced and showed me the difference between a new one and those on my son's door that were either not turning or had limited movement. I agreed with his recommendation and the rollers were replaced in minutes. I thought the price charged was fair. Hope I don't have any future garage door issues but if I do, I know who to call. read more

Having used Bartlett Door in previous homes, we decided to have them install a new garage door and opener in our current home a few years ago. The door and opener worked fine until a few weeks ago when the door spring broke and the door wouldn't open. The tech they sent out installed two new springs as opposed to the single one we had. After he was finished we noticed that upon opening, the door panels were hitting ( banging loudly ) against the frame of the garage. He said that just the way it is!...Um No. We called back again concerned about the door and spoke to a gruff woman who said someone different would come look at the door... Someone named Lenny came and said that there was nothing wrong with the door and that it probably always hit the frame loudly.... that we just never noticed it. Seriously??? After a week or so of the continued banging on opening, I called back AGAIN. The woman who answered said "oh yeah, I remember you" and that someone would get back to us. Never heard from them again. They just blew us off. THEY installed the door and opener...implying that it was always hitting the frame is an insult . As if we would not have noticed. Lousy customer service. OK. I know there are lot of people out there with the consumer chip on their shoulder. They'll go out of their way to find something wrong or make it wrong. They are not happy unless they can complain. I do not write damaging reviews because my expectations may differ from others, so if I'm unhappy and can't work it out, I don't ever go back. Bartlett installed my two car sized Automatic Overhead Door just a couple months shy of SIX (6) years ago. It has worked flawlessly in all weather. Even the battery in the on garage remote is original. So to all those one star wonders out there I say. TAKE THAT. They sell quality product and they do good work. If you have a problem it is most likely you. I may just give them a call for some "preventive" maintenance. read more

PLEASE DON'T SPEND ANY MONEY WITH BARTLETT DOOR! We have used Bartlett Door for over 40 years without major problems. While we really like the people who come to our house, the daughter of the founder (Brenda) has NO customer service orientation! We spent $7000 on two new doors, an electrician, and a trim carpenter (based on their recommendation) in September of 2019. We bought the top-of-the-line Jack-shaft openers with Wifi connectivity. During the first year of ownership, Bartlett Door had to return at least three times to make the doors functional. At first, the large door wouldn't close, so we couldn't leave our house!. They made us put the door up and down manually for over a month while we waited for a new door operator. Once the new operator was installed, the door would close but it would not open (the locking mechanism malfunctioned). From the beginning, the seal along the edge of the doors would not seal because it was not nailed properly. I nailed it intermittently in order to provide a temporary fix. At first, Bartlett Door blamed the trim carpenter. After having the trim carpenter inspect the work, we concluded that it was faulty work by Bartlett Door. After Bartlett Door reinstalled the seals, they made the same mistake! I now have an insulated door which will not seal! Brenda (Bartlett Door) was willing to provide me the Technical Support phone number for Chamberlain (the manufacturer of the operators) but was "too busy with other customers" to talk with me anymore. She informed me that they do NOT program the new doors to a customer's cell phone. She also said that I should have asked about their unwillingness to program phones before I bought the doors. I have subsequently combined the two different sets of instructions which Bartlett Door supplied to me (even though the doors were supplied at the same time with the same operators) along with the internet instructions from Chamberlain. This combination of instructions made all aspects of the doors function properly. Note that no one set of instructions was sufficient to reprogram the doors. The instructions had to be combined in order to fix the doors (several hours over two days). I sent an email to Chamberlain and have not yet received a reply other than a confirmation that they received my request. read more

I had a new unit installed June 26, 2018. The serviceman spent the time in the company truck while the new installer installed the overhead unit. The door opens each time it is closed. I called to have it adjusted. The serviceman told me I need a unit. I pointed out they just installed one. He then said I damaged the sensors. They are undamaged. Then he told me to get a jackhammer and bust up my concrete and level it. I spoke to Doug several times this week. I was promised a call by noon today Aug 18 to set up an appt time for Mon Aug 20. No call, no appt and now I am out $400, and have an overhead unit I cannot use. Unfortunately they told me check or cash, no credit card, so I cannot enlist the help of my credit card company.
