NOPE. Original estimate by owner (supposedly has been "doing this for 20 years") was $800, which I knew was ridiculously low (another company had estimated $1400). In the end I was charged $2400!?!? They hire a handful of NDSU college kids, and don't allow them to take breaks. So after a few hours the kids slow down more and more, and spin their wheels. An extraordinary amount of time was spent staring into the back of the truck "thinking". Also, they used zero moving blankets--mine was a local move--so boxes shifted, antique furniture pieces rubbed together, etc. They damaged the paint on my washer and dryer because they didn't have the dolly straps seated properly. They didn't take responsibility for any of the damages-- it was somehow all my fault (I "didn't pack my boxes carefully enough", they "aren't responsible for antiques", etc. All bullcrap!). I only hired movers because I had a broken wrist and had a total knee replacement 4 months earlier, and I was moving out of a second floor apartment during a pandemic. I used this moving company to relocate estate items this summer, both boxed and furniture pieces, and was completely satisfied with their responsive and on-time services. I had items freighted from across country and in storage at a freight terminal, awaiting the move into storage. They came on time and unloaded that container, transferred items to their truck and delivered them to a storage unit 50 miles distant. I had a lot of items that had sustained damage - due to careless packing by a different company - while in transit across country and they were very obliging in documenting and providing me with emailed pics that showed the condition of the items as they found them in the freight container. I would highly recommend this company for their friendly, professional services, careful packing and handling of items, and willingness to work with customers. read more

I scheduled A1 to move two pieces of furniture across town. (a king sized bed and a small entertainment center) I spoke with them on a Monday and they scheduled me for an opening Thursday of that same week. I was very happy about their ability to fit me in so quickly without being asked. However this proved too good to be true. Come moving day I had taken time away from work to ensure that I was available. I received a call around 8:30 that morning and was told that their truck was full and asked if they could just move me the next day instead. I told them no since I had taken time away from work for this. They said that they would keep the scheduled time of 11:00AM and get their truck cleaned out ahead of that time. Well... 11:00AM came and went, as did noon, 1:00PM, 2:00PM and so on, I called them back at 3:30PM and was told that they would get back to me, but that they still were coming. The did indeed come at 6:30PM a full 7.5 hours past my scheduled time. The young college kids that they sent to do the heavy lifting were polite and did a good job, but I literally already had the bed disassembled and in the garage so they only needed to back the truck up and put the pieces in. I was not offered any kind of discount or apology from the owner/schedulers. Just a $200 bill which is on par with the other moving companies in town. Given that there are other options at the same cost, save yourself the headache and go with one of the other (better rated) companies in town. read more

The young men were very kind, on time and good communicators, but left a lot of damage to repair and took much longer than necessary. The manager was defensive and did not believe me that the crew left scuff marks. After lots of back and forth conversation with crew and manager he made it right but I still have a lot to repair in order to sell the house now. If you need a quick move and don't have complicated or heavy things it's a good service to have. For valuable items, heavy items, either request Abel and Jesse or find a new company to go with. I appreciated that they were on time, called when they were on their way, And were personable and friendly young men very dedicated to the job. They also didn't charge me for the time it took for them to get their truck unstuck from the snow so that was nice. read more

Incredibly rude. I called just now because I have a couple of things to move tomorrow; I'm from the cities and it's normal for people to move on weekends so I didn't think anything of asking for help with a small move (it's like 5 things) on a Saturday. the owner told me he would have to call people in and get special permissions from workers to have them work on a Saturday so I said, "Oh gosh no, don't worry about it, I'll call somewhere else." the owners responded by saying, "Have fun with that." and then proceeded to hang up on me. I called back and let him know how inappropriate and nasty it was to be rude to me for not wanting to utilize his services and he said "sorry you feel that way" which is not customer service and when I continue to explain why I was upset he said, "If you're just looking to argue Im not going to." I told him I'll be calling the BBB and he said ,"fine if that's what you want." sir, please go to therapy and stop taking your pain out on the public. read more

Not a great first impression. Ended up going with a different company because Brian the owner could never give me any concrete answers as far as when they would arrive, or the plan in general. He stated he would call me the morning of the move and hopefully have a crew available. What if he didn't, what then? If you don't mind spontaneous business, give him a shot, if you like a plan, move along with someone else. read more
