Takeaway: Midwest Moving Company delivered one of the most disorganized, careless, and frustrating moving experiences I've ever had, from Fargo to Longs. Midwest Moving Company turned what should have been an exciting relocation into a month's long headache. Our move from Fargo to Longs was riddled with damage, excuses, and a complete lack of accountability. * Damaged furniture -- Multiple items arrived scratched, chipped, crushed, or broken. A dining table and chairs purchased in 2024 were gouged. A dresser leg was snapped off. A mirror was chipped. Even dinner plates were damaged. * Outdoor storage box -- Completely crushed because their crew stacked heavy furniture on top of it. * Bose speaker stands -- Their crew disassembled them, lost the internal support rods, and then acted confused when they couldn't reassemble what they took apart. * Boat trailer mishandling -- They left our boat trailer tongue on the ground without using the protective wheel. Completely unacceptable. * Unprofessional crew behavior -- One worker spent more time smoking and joking than working. The supervisor literally left the job site to deal with his missing cat. * Lunch breaks billed -- They charged us for the hour the entire crew left for lunch. * Communication failures -- We called four times, left voicemails, and spoke with admins who promised callbacks that never came. * Billing issues -- Charges for boxes we didn't use, a "truck fee" and "fuel surcharge" that made no sense, and a verbal agreement about a rental reimbursement that they tried to short us on. After all of this, their "resolution" was to claim the damages didn't exceed a $1,000 deductible and offer a $300 goodwill payment--a fraction of the actual losses. If you value your belongings, your time, or your sanity, look elsewhere. read more

Midwest Moving Company was absolutely great! I was moving from Fargo ND to Carl Junction MO. I needed to move within 10 days of my call, which most moving companies told me it couldn't be done. I spoke with Matt and Cody who came over and gave me a bid after walking through my house and seeing what I own. They showed up earlier than expected upon my request and we were able to load up a 5 bedroom house in under 5 hours! They communicated the whole way down to Missouri and even were able to get me weight tickets upon request because I was being reimbursed for my move. Matt and Cody showed up at my new address and unloaded a 5 bedroom house in under 2 hours! All of my furniture was in good shape and they were very open to any damage and even informed me if they found any scratches or damage, but most were small things that I didn't even notice. They took very good care of my things using straps and moving blankets to prevent rubbing. They were very professional and even refused free pizza because "They were on the clock" as Cody said. He said they would eat after the job was complete and they wouldn't waste any of our time. That is something that is hard to find these days with many people whom love to milk the clock! Our move was estimated to take 4 hours and took 7 1/2 hours to compete (they charged us $400 more than the estimate for this) and the movers in that time damaged our Thomas Cole bedroom set (banged against walls all over) and put scrapes all over and a giant gouge in our Ethan Allen table along with holes right through the backing of 2 of our Ethan Allen chairs. One of the movers was his first day and he could hardly breath after an hour or two and was barely moving yet they charged us for the extra time it took to complete the move. After reaching out to the company multiple times and weeks later they final came out to look at the damages and refunded the move price and said they would have someone they knew work on the damages to patch them up and contact us. We waited a couple of weeks and heard nothing and then reached out sending multiple emails and then a call to the CEO and they have not responded to us once. Terrible experience all around, would recommend looking at another company as dealing with MidWestMovingComp has been a nightmare. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about the guys at Midwest Moving Co. I called them in April for a move...in April, and provided them video of all belongings. They promptly replied with a quote and I hired them immediately. The trucks were loaded in a very thoughtful and strategic manner and they did so in one 8-hour day with six guys. Amazing, because we have a lot of STUFF. The weather prevented three friends flying in from Denver CO to drive my trucks from Portland ND to Grand Junction CO...what to do? Matthew and Dillon said they could drive the trucks to CO for me - the next morning!!! Of course it was an additional fee, but very affordable. I am so thankful for this company and these young men, the conscientiousness with which they work, and they are ethical. If I ever move again, I would hire them without hesitation. I want to start off with saying that I couldn't recommend this moving company more! From the start we received exceptional customer service! We had a horrible experience with a different moving company and needed to find a new one with only 4 days in advance. Midwest Moving Company was quick, efficient, and fairly priced. When the movers arrived to our pick-up destination they were quick, careful, and got things done in lightning speed! They stayed in full communication with us the entire time. When arriving to our destination, they were early and ready to go as soon as we were able. Unfortunately we had some hiccups and Trent and Clayton gave me such grace, and kindness while we figured things out. Once we got to our storage unit they were so kind, and moved quickly but with care of our items. We were very impressed with Midwest Moving Company. Our move involved loading up at the old house, driving across town, and unloading at the new house. The communication was excellent throughout, from the first contact ('Get a quote') on Yelp, through the entire move and billing process. It was a snowy bitter cold day, with at least 3 feet of snow on the ground already. They showed up on time (after calling to let us know they were on their way). There were 4 men: 1 in the truck, 1 just outside the truck, and 2 in the house (one upstairs, one downstairs) - it was like a well-oiled machine. My husband and son-in-law, who worked closely with the movers, were very impressed (and they're somewhat hard to please). Highly recommended, great to be able to use a local business. read more

They quoted us the best price in the Fargo area, there were no hidden fees or surprise charges, and communication by email and text worked flawlessly. On Wednesday, November 18, 2020, two movers arrived exactly as planned and helped us transfer our belongings from a rental truck into our house. They were friendly, fast, efficient, and careful. They coordinated with us seamlessly and made sure everything was well organized. They even helped us reattach a car carrier to the back of the rental truck after we had finished. Midwest Moving Company was fantastic! I have moved my own stuff many times and got tired of fitting all the furniture through narrow doors, up and down stairs, and through narrow hallways and sharp corners. This was not a problem for these movers! I moved from a third floor apartment (no elevator) in south Fargo to Dilworth. They notified me ahead of time when through unforseen circumstances, they couldn't make it to my place at the scheduled time. When they got there, they were super-efficient and somehow managed to fit all my things into an impossibly small truck space. I was really impressed. Midwest Moving Company is a wonderful business to work with. We needed movers to come within a week of our call to haul the contents of a 1 bedroom apartment down 3 flights of stairs and into our trailer. They were more than willing to accommodate our time schedule. They not only confirmed the day and time a few days ahead of the moving, Matthew also checked a couple hours after the trailer was loaded to see if everything went okay. We had Midwest Moving Company move some of our big furniture. The two movers were very friendly and professional. They called us to make sure we were ready before coming, which was appreciated! They handled all our furniture and items with care. They went the extra mile to move something, not on our list, but that we just needed moved. I accidentally ordered just a moving service instead of packing & moving and when they arrived on the day, they said, "No problem," and did the packing service as well.
