A few days ago someone side swiped my drivers side mirror while it was parked on the street. I did some research on local mechanics and called Maggianos. They picked up immediately and said they'd be available that day to take a look. From the start I was given great, honest, friendly service that included price estimates and regular updates on my side mirror. Any questions I had were answered thoroughly, and within two days I had a brand new side mirror installed. I'm thrilled to have found a reliable mechanic in my neighborhood, and couldn't be happier with my experience.

I'm in my seventies and live less than a mile away. When I asked if I could get a ride back home after dropping off my car, I was told NO... I'm the only one here (which is not true, as it's a father and son operation... the son is the mechanic... the father handles the phones and taking payments) and I can't leave the shop. Now this would be a legitimate answer IF the following hadn't happened: Last summer, I called to make an appointment and for an entire week, probably at least thirty calls, no one answered the phone or returned my call after leaving a message. Turns out that they had closed down for vacation without leaving any kind of message on their phone system that they were closed for the week. When I finally got through the next week and questioned why there was no phone message that they were closed, I was told that it was too complicated and time consuming to do. So, it's OK to close for a week with no information available whatsoever, but can't drive someone home, which would take maybe ten minutes roundtrip. Now, I'm supposed to walk home, and back again to pick the car back up, in 15 to 20 degree weather? Hung up and got an appointment at Wark's in Merion, where I can walk to in less than a minute. I understand that they do excellent work.

It also includes tire care if you run over a nail or need a patch. The she-chanics at GAC are also very kind and caring, explaining how each step of the process works in a way that is not intimidating or 'man-splaining' which I have experienced across my lifetime at other mechanics. There is a salon where you can get your nails done while you wait, sitting areas with WiFi, and a general comfortable feel to the space when you need to stay and wait for your vehicle to be done. I trust GAC as my Primary Care Technician location to take my car and know they will help me keep her for the long haul.

Courteous, knowledgeable, and great at juggling phone calls while taking a small line in the late afternoon. I overheard them offering a drop off for a customer, fixing a minor thing that came up after service was performed for another, and handling multiple walk ins with zero pushback or attitude. I legitimately was shocked. Never have I seen this level of competence and service in an auto shop. I asked if they could service my electric car on future returns and was told it was not a problem, as long as I made an appointment. After all of this, I was back on the road within 45 minutes for only $27 out the door. That's half what my OLD shop charges. Amazing bang for your buck and the respect was top-notch. In 2021 my tire popped and I was only able to get the car within close range of their shop. Someone came over with me to take a look and they helped me get the spare changed until a new tire could be ordered. They did not need to stop their work to help me, especially when I was not even parked in their lot. it says a lot about them!! most recently, winter storms and ice caused major damage to my hybrid vehicle's battery and additionally, AAA caused extra damage when I called for a jump, and they handled it incorrectly. Fountain Street accepted a tow on a Friday during this time when they had 0 appointments available for 3 weeks. Anthony was able to get my battery replaced, and they kept my vehicle over the weekend so they could address the electrical issues that were not there before the battery was dead/AAA caused damage. I had my car back that Wednesday. I am a single female living close by in Manayunk for the last 10 years, and I am disappointed to have ever used any other shop. I will absolutely be switching to regular service with these guys. They are kind, laid back, and in my case, made me feel confident they could handle the issues rather than causing me more stress over the unknown.
