I bought a microfiber couch off craigslist that was filled with grease stains, water marks, and what looked like dirt splashes from sitting outside until I picked it up. It was a wreck. After their 35-40 minute process, my couch looks and smells brand new. Not a single stain remained. It ended up being nearly as much as the couch, but very much worth it. The furniture had never been cleaned and had a thick layer of dirt and wear (6 years accruing), especially at the arms and head rest. Glen and his partner did a fantastic job and were able to get rid of the unattractive dirt. As a first time customer, I was extremely pleased with the quality of their work and professionalism. They were prompt and set very accurate expectations for how long the service would take (~1-hr) and when I could sit on my furniture again (1-hr). Lucky for me he said he could be here Sunday morning and come Sunday morning, there he was with his brother. Throughout the call and when he was here he was super professional, explaining everything and anything possible. This was the best money I've spent since buying my couch in the first place. We called Glen on Thursday or Friday and he was able to come out Saturday! My boyfriend was there the first time and couldn't say enough nice things about him and his work. I wasn't home for the cleaning and when I got home the couch looked brand new but one cushion still smelled sort of like urine. So we called again and Glen came back exactly 24 hours later. The first time he was here he had quickly checked the cushions inside the covers but never saw some urine stains that were lower down, so this time he completely took the covers off of all cushions and discovered the culprits. Entirely cleaned them, no trace of stain or odor and also cleaned the throw pillows for the couch. The best part was that he was more than happy to come back and make it right and this time I got to enjoy his company as well! All at no extra charge. Do yourself a favor and hire these guys. I am in the process of moving, and the former tenants at the new place left a big cushy loveseat behind. Last time when I called AAbace in 2017 they said that they are retiring and they can't help with carpet washing. How come I still see reviews from 2019 for there work are they back in business or maybe they never retired and then if they didn't retire why they have refuse working for us...... We had flooding in the basement but were able to save the carpet, so we need it cleaned. Called A-Abace to discuss. First of all, they're pretty expensive: 43 cents a square foot our cost well over $300 for two rooms, hallway, stairs. So, not cheap, but that's OK -- we like clean carpet. Once I told him we'd had flooding, though, he cut me off: he doesn't do post-flood work. He has a problem with spores, he says. I understand that's a health issue -- but is he the only guy who works there? There's no one else he can send? Guess not. :( So, I guess business is good enough so they can turn down a willing customer, but not good enough so they can hire extra help that can deal with special circumstances. God bless you if you get five-star service from A-Abace. Post-flood work? Look somewhere else. read more

Classic Bait & Switch!! TOTAL SCAM!! My girlfriend called a little under a week in advance to schedule two rooms of carpet and a small walk in closet to be cleaned. She spoke with Glen, was given a price and booked a Friday appt. She took the day off work to be there and 45 minutes after their scheduled start time she calls to check arrival status and Glen says he had it down for the following day. It was unfortunate that his info was mixed up and she had to burn a personal day but lucky for me I happened to be off the next day so not a tremendous problem. Glen and his helper show up the following day and the first thing he says is "I had it down for a single room of cleaning, the additional rooms will be $55 extra. Now I was there when my girlfriend made the appointment and she specifically mentioned that the job was for (2) rooms and a small closet. I asked Glen if he could step into the hall with me as I had a realtor in my home at the moment and wanted to be respectful. Here's where it gets interesting......The moment I asked him to please explain the price increase it was like a fuse blew and he descended into madness. He said that I'm calling him a liar and I should just get someone else to do the work and that a $155 job was nothing to him. Somewhat shocked by his hostile reaction to a simple question regarding a sudden price increase I asked if perhaps he could have made a mistake. He then yells that "he doesn't make mistakes and that he wrote it down as one room". When I ask about the price change again he then all of a sudden changes his story and says my girlfriend must have spoken to someone else besides him at the company and reaffirms that he NEVER makes mistakes. He also said that the carpet was shag and he wouldn't get it very clean anyway which right there told me that (1) he obviously didn't ask all necessary info about the job prior to quoting a price, (2) thought he would avoid responsibility by simply up-charging me and (3) lacks any and all professional integrity (4) really didn't want the job after realizing he mis-quoted it and would as a result likely have to absorb the difference. At the point he starts yelling at me I told him he needed to gather his equipment and leave. Also, who charges a $15 "travel fee" for a distance of 5.2 miles?? Bottom line is if you feel comfortable with using a company that uses a classic bait-and-switch then A-Abace and Glen is perfect for you. If you prefer to give your hard earned money to a company that schedules appointments correctly, doesn't try and upcharge you on-site, doesn't scream at you, will accept responsibility for their error and has even a shred of integrity then do yourself a favor and use ANY other company. read more

I was very impressed with Glenn and his brother's work. They cleaned my sofa and multiple rugs and did an excellent job - the couch looked brand new when they finished. They shared details about the cleaning process with me and everything dried very quickly. They even left me plastic booties to wear around the house while they were drying and rags with instructions on how to clean up stains quickly, which I had to use when my daughter dropped a melting chocolate chip on my rug the day after. So my brother kindly bought me a brand new, sleeper sofa from La-Z-Boy Furniture. It is beige with a great mattress in it. In fact, the wrap covering the mattress hadn't even been taken off yet. After he bought me the couch, we took it up to Chicago where he and a couple of my other friends helped me move in. Maybe 3 weeks went by of using this lovely couch. As a thank you, I invited my friend that helped me move to the city to hang out. We went and got sushi, went out to bars that he didn't feel like he fit in it, and ended up a Rockit where I met the guy I was seeing at the time. The guy was super nice and bought drinks for everyone, and my friend proceeded to drown his social awkwardness in pomegranate mojitos (read: taking them down like shots). We went back to my place and he literally crashed into my couch and I asked if he wanted the bed out (would have been the first on the brand spankin-new mattress) he slurred, "No". I let him be. I went to the bathroom at approximately 7am to find him on the floor, laying on the back cushions. I went to the bathroom to find god knows what in the bath tub. I wake him up asking what happened. He proceeds to tell me that he puked on himself. I was mad, but I said ok whatever. Come to find out after he left when I went to look at the mattress, which was STILL COVERED IN PLASTIC!, it was actually urine. The stupid fool peed in his drunken stupor. Anyway, I called anyone and everyone I thought I could to find someone to clean this effing thing that I swear I was about to throw on the sidewalk and give away. I even had steam master or steam cleaner or whatever they are called come out, only to find out that my couch is NOT ok to be cleaned with water, so they charged me $75 (a lot for my broke-ass, at the time) because they came out there for nothing. I'm not even quite sure how I stumbled upon this great GREAT company, A-Abace. It is run by the owner, Glen, and to make an appointment, I have always called his cell. If you need it, message me. He came and was SO flexible with his hours and dry cleaned my couch at my home. I still couldn't sit on the couch for about a month without being grossed out, but I am ok with it now. My dog has peed on it since and I got it cleaned again. And then at my next apartment, my roommates were kind of disgusting, so I just got it cleaned again. So that makes it THREE times I have gone back to these guys and my couch looks like NEW every time!! That was a really long-winded story. Sorry. Bottom line, these guys rock. They're not going to rip you off. They're going to tell you how to get the most bang for your buck, in terms of maintenance for your couch. LOVE THEM! read more

I called and made an appointment with this service after reading all the great yelp reviews. On the day of the appointment, by boyfriend stayed home from work to be here when the cleaners arrived. 10 minutes after the appointment was to begin, the cleaners called saying that they couldn't find parking and that they were canceling the appointment. They said that they black-list certain buildings (apparently including ours) because the location is hard to park in. WHY would you schedule an appointment in the building/location then!?! We, of course, would have paid for parking, but they were off the phone before we could even offer. My boyfriend called the owner to complain. He was completely unsympathetic, did not offer to reschedule, and did not apologize for the inconvenience caused in missing work for a virtual no-show appointment. These guys are first class! We've used them multiple times to clean several rugs in our house and upholstered furniture. They are always incredibly considerate, prompt, and get the job done! They definitely earned 5 stars on their last visit when I called on a Saturday morning because my husband had spilled red wine all over our cream-colored living room chair the night before. They did a great job and Glenn, the owner, was very friendly and offered future tips for caring for my furniture. I would definitely use them again.
