This is way overdue! We ordered our wedding invitations in 2014 and got great customer service. This is a small family business (mom and son team) & they couldn't be nicer. We absolutely loved our invitations. We paid extra for the names, addresses and table card placements to be typed and it was way worth it. A few name typos and some missing cards at first but that is bound to happen with almost 200 invitations. Love this place and always recommend it to all my friends and family. We picked up our invitations yesterday and are absolutely thrilled with Pablo's work! They are absolutely beautiful and he clearly takes pride in his work. He is such a sweet man and seems to really love what he does. He was very proud of his family owned business and was excited to show us all his equipment and explain how things worked. His prices were excellent and one thing I found endearing was that he felt bad charging us extra for the raised ink we wanted; because it was such a small order, it averaged out to an extra few dollars per invitation. We didn't mind and fully expected to pay for that, we wanted them to be very elegant and in my experience, you get what you pay for. I've ordered invitations on line and have always been disappointed. Pablo seems like the type of guy who, if you were unhappy with your order, he'd redo it for cost. I honestly don't know how he makes money at these prices but I'm not complaining! We expected to pay at least $150 more than what he quoted us. He is a bit disorganized and it did take a bit longer than he originally told us, but I usually find that to be the case with a small business. He really took the time to make sure we got exactly what we wanted and the end result was gorgeous. He was also able to recommend a calligrapher whom we will meet with this week. I found this place via Yelp, and as soon as I saw that this place was near my work, I just knew that my boss (who happened to be the bride) and I had to head over there and see what all of the 5 stars were about. I first started off by calling because we were looking for something very specific, a gatefold wedding boxed invitation (for an Indian wedding). I spoke with the owner, such a nice woman! Her presence over the phone and her willingness to help definitely encouraged me to keep going with this company. We didn't make an appointment to come in that evening, though I recommend it because it is a tiny store, and they usually have meetings with potential clients in the afternoon/evenings. We met with the owner's son, Pablo, and Pablo is who we dealt with for the rest of our partnership. Pablo was super knowledgable, and when he didn't know something, he was determined to find the answer. He never went around the bush for anything. If he couldn't have something done by our time frame, then, he'd say so. He was very upfront with time and pricing (make sure you have your budget and time frame ready), which in the end we appreciated because we were definitely on a short time frame to get these invitations done. The whole process, although stressful for any bride, seemed to run smoothly. Pablo was very responsive. He communicated with us via email and by the phone, and he'd search and search all night to find specific things we'd be looking for. We have proof because the bride and him were searching together via email until midnight one day. Basically, the point I'm trying to get across is that he always took our business very seriously. It didn't matter how much money we were spending or not spending, he never once left us hanging. He always had an answer and always got the job done. The invitations turned out lovely! I'd absolutely recommend A-Alpha to anyone. They don't just do weddings, they do everything and anything for your invitation needs. :) PS: Don't park in the little parking lot next door. We wish we had the experience others have shared. But only 7 reviews and over 20 years of experience should have been our first warning. We made an appointment with Pablo, we show up- he had completely forgotten. Still he met with us, we were impressed and thankful for the recommendations he made for our wedding invitations. He made it clear he was busy and it would take 10 days for him to email a digital proof. We were okay with that. 10 days came and went, never received anything. We called about 13 days after initial meeting, he assured us we would receive a proof the next day, nothing. We called and asked what was going on, he explained he was busy. We noted we understood but just wanted a call on his behalf giving a heads up. He said he understood and was working on it but asked us basic questions such as number of invitations, location, colors- as if we never met. He said he would have something the next day. Well it's been 22 days since our initial meeting and he has not reached out once. What a waste of time and disrespect! We were actually impressed and happy to work with him and he blew it. We decided to go with Occasion to Celebrate. The attention to detail and professionalism surpasses anything A-Alpha could do for us. Made an apt, sat down talked to him and he told me he would have a sample in a few days or maybe until mon over the weekend and it was no problem cause my wedding isn't for another 5 months and he was busy. Being understanding I gave him time, over a month went by and still no email, called him and he said he was busy and to give him max 2 days. I could not be any happier with this company! I placed my order online and within 15 minutes I had a response from Pablo who had a few questions for me. We spoke the following day on the telephone and all he had to do was just clarify a few spelling questions. I gave my credit card info over the phone (they do not accept payment on their website and do not keep your card information). Unfortunately this place did not work out for us. I booked an appointment after meeting Pablo some time ago at a Bridal Show. After shopping around, I was really happy to support a local family owned business. My Fiance and I had a great time with Pablo when we were looking at the samples and finding what fit in our budget. He offered suggestions and was helpful in the design aspect. Once we choose our template he told us that it would be 2 days before we had our proof (which seems to be the standard he tells people). As he basically had it on his computer ready to go, we figured he just needed to play with the wording and we would get our invites in time for our deadline to send. 2 days came and went, we waited a bit and then I reached out to him. He said he would have it for me by end of night or the next day. Again, no word from Pablo. We waited a few more days before my Fiance called and Pablo apologized and told him that they were having a family emergency but that he would get us the proofs within 2 days. And YET AGAIN... nothing from Pablo. I waited another day before calling him on a Saturday. I told him that if he needed us to come in once more I would but he did not ask me to. So Monday when I hadn't been contacted I decided it was time to get my down payment back. His mother let us in and he came out in his socks to apologize, obviously awaken even though it was at 6pm. He said he misplaced our order. They offered to give us a discount but at that point we just couldn't trust him and asked for the money back. His mother came out to our car and offered to give us freebies but really the answer remained no thank you. Seriously disappointed with this establishment. He never even reached out to me, I had to keep following up with him. Absolutely unacceptable. It seems as though there are others that echo the same experience. I was searching the globe (literally) for some custom stock and scroll type invitations for a Baroque wedding that I will be having in a Castle in Europe. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Where is the ZERO STAR button? Pablo wasted our time. We met on 03/28/16 and he told us he would have our proof and price in 5 days (04/02/16). We waited and nothing. We made it very clear to him that we needed the invitations soon because we have family from different countries flying in but I guess that means nothing to him since its not his wedding. My fiancé called a couple days after he was supposed to give us our proof and he didn't even remember who she was but promised to have the proof ready the following day. The next day came and went and nothing, another week came and went and nothing. I called almost three weeks after we met and he said he was having a hard time remembering who I was without looking at my file so he took down my information, again, and promised to call back that afternoon or the next morning the latest. Well its been a week since he promised to call back and I yet to hear from him. If you're getting married in a 2 or 3 years and you want Pablo to make your invitations, I would suggest you meet with him now so you can have them ready a week or two before your big day, if he ever calls back that is. Yes, the name says wedding invitations, but I ordered business cards, stationery, and mailing materials for my law practice. Wow! Everything came out better looking than I imagined (with very poor or vague direction on my part, I must add), very quickly and efficiently delivered to me, and the price couldn't be beat...literally! The embossed look makes everything look very professional and Pablo seemed to key in on exactly what I was thinking when I placed my order. The added bonus for me was, as a private businessman, I prefer to support the local community and small businesses when I can. This is a family-owned and run business started and built from the ground up. Not some franchise bought into where the faraway corporation siphons off its cut, but just a very local ethical family business.
