He arrived at within thirty minutes and quickly assessed that the cooling coils were iced and frozen. He gave us instructions to de-ice the coils by powering off the refrigerator for 24 hours, keeping the doors and drawer open, restoring the power and readjusting the temperature controls after 24 had passed. He further noted that should this process not work, he would return within thirty days at no additional service cost to reevaluate the cause of the problem. We are pleased that the procedure as described worked and the refrigerator is working perfectly. When I called to try to clear things up, "Jack" told me the item was not in stock and that there appeared to be a pricing error (more alarm bells start up in my head). After consulting with his manager, he did call me back, to tell me that the part number is not on the Kitchenaid site, so they can't even order it, and they don't have it in stock. I just went back on their site, and they still list that exact part number listed (KFID948SJP), but at a much, much higher price, of course.
