Labor Time: The manufacturer advises that a complete preventative maintenance procedure should take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Even if charging 200 dollars and hour and a premium kit price ($250), a fair total would be approximately $650 to $750. The quote of $1,838 is nearly triple the high-end estimate. Precharging 125 dollar up front , plus fees and taxes bringing it to over 135 dollars and stating it is required and never having even recieved what the possible fees they charges are is unscrupulous when they are charging over 3X the national average, and when i called for a refund on the estimate stating this i was outright refused. When Hurricane Ida hit, our basement flooded with several feet of sewage and rainwater, like so many other people in the Tri-State area. The day after the storm, I called Tidal Plumbing for help, as our water heater and boiler both died. Within a few hours, technicians were at my house to diagnose the issue to see if there were any repairs that could save my water heater and boiler. Unfortunately, both were beyond repair. The team was able to install a replacement water heater the same day, just a few hours later at a very reasonable cost. They were also able to install a brand new gas boiler just a few days later, also at a very reasonable cost, despite shortages and price gouging around the area. To prevent and address future flooding, Tidal Plumbing also installed a sump pump and sewer check valve to prevent any future back flows from the city into our house. This review is 1.5 months late because I wanted to be sure that the repairs made by Felip at GME Plumbing held up after he completed the plumbing work. I took pictures and sent them to Felip and he provided a reasonable estimate which included parts and labor, so we hired him. Felip and his helper did excellent work, left the place clean, and took away the rubbish. We paid the price in his estimate; there were no surprise extra charges. He 1) Repaired a leaking shower, replaced seat of valve with a special tool. Two previous plumbers only changed the washers and the leaks never stopped. 2) Replaced washing machine valves located behind shower wall. 3) Removed an old leaky toilet and replaced it with a new toilet. It's been over a month since the repairs were completed and there have been no leaks. The water bill is 40% less because of the repairs Felip made.
