We had a badly leaking bathtub and needed help. A&A provided quick response, good communication, and the work was well done.

So my drain decided to throw a tantrum, and my first plumber quoted me $350 just to snake it. Enter…read moreBoothe's Heating, Plumbing & Electric, who swooped in with their "83 or Free" special -- and didn't charge me a dime for the initial visit. Yup, free. Before every appointment, they send a text with the tech's name, photo, and even a little bio including their hobbies. It's like getting a match on a dating app, only this time the person actually shows up and fixes the problem instead of ghosting you. The first visit didn't clear the clog, but the next day another technician came out and patiently explained everything. Both were courteous, on time, and really knew their stuff. And while Yelp loves photos, trust me -- nobody wants to see what was blocking my drain. That's a whole different genre. Bottom line: Boothe's brings personality and professionalism to plumbing. They made an unpleasant situation downright educational and pleasant -- and that's a rare gift.

I literally waited all day as the appointment window was 9;00 AM to 4:00 PM. guy shows up at about 2:30, takes one look and says "we don't drain plastic drains!" What? Why? Someone might have explained that when I made the appointment. "We don't service equipment we don't install." What? Why? "Let me get a picture first." Why, you're not going to service it! "Just to prove I was here." Good-bye. Waste of an entire day. Boothes reputation with me has declined very quickly in the last 12 months. Now they even have AI answering their phones. Very, very disappointed by this company as I have shared their contact information with so many people.

I have been using D&M Plumbing for over ten years and have been completely satisfied with their…read moreprofessionalism. They are a well diverse (continue reading below) plumber and like many craftsmen, auto mechanic, and even doctor, once you find a really good one there is no need in looking any further. (1) The first time my wife and I used D&M was to repair a burst pipe on my sprinklers system. (2) The second time I used them was to replace the hot water heating elements and thermostat. (3) The third time I used D&M was to install a Sears Whole-House Water Softener, Conditioner and Filtration system. Not only did they install the system but they installed a by-pass on my main water line which would allow for easy maintenance when needed and provided for future expansion (e.g. connecting a water line to the refrigerator or a reverse osmosis water filter system). Now that's looking out for the customer. In addition, I mentioned I did not want Check Valves anymore because they are becoming difficult for me to turn the round knob. What D&M did was change out the Check Valves for Ball Valves and what a difference it made. The work was very impressive. (4) The fourth time I used D&M was to replace the kitchen sink and under cabinet dishwasher. The work was done correctly and they left the work area nice and clean. (5) The fifth time I used D&M was to install a separate Whole House Filter Water system. Again, the install included adding Ball Valves for easy maintenance. We are currently in the middle of updating the kids' bathrooms and you guessed it, D&M easily removed the tub (replacing with walk-in shower), toilet and capped off the waterlines. They coordinated with the tile installer to run new waterlines prior to the installation of the Durock drywall. D&M was a pleasure to work with during this process. *** UPDATE *** 31 October 2019 Please note there are two D&M establishments in Calvert Co. Maryland. - D&M Plumbing Inc. When scheduling, I specifically asked whether they could provide at least a ballpark estimate for snaking a bathtub drain. I was told there was no way to provide pricing information until a technician saw the issue in person. At the same time, I was assured their pricing was "the best in the business," that the owner operates with integrity, and that they are not in the business of gouging customers. Based on those representations, I agreed to schedule service. I was told that due to the snowstorm and several frozen pipe emergencies, the earliest available appointment was Saturday. I understood that weather can create legitimate service delays and agreed to wait. However, late Friday evening, the night before the scheduled Saturday appointment, I received a text stating the plumber would not be able to come because they were behind schedule. The next available appointment was Tuesday. That resulted in a five-day wait from my original call for a routine drain issue. When the technician arrived on Tuesday, I was quoted $550 to snake a single bathtub drain. The work took approximately 30 minutes. After receiving the quote, I texted the office referencing the earlier statement about having the best prices in the business. I was then told that they had not said that, only that their prices were competitive. If $550 is the standard rate for this service, that information could have been shared when I specifically asked for even a general idea of cost. Being told that no pricing guidance could be provided, while simultaneously being reassured about superior pricing and integrity, created expectations that did not align with the final quote. The technician did clear the clog. However, he did not remove his shoes or use protective coverings despite snow and mud outside, and water was tracked into the home. This experience combined a last-minute cancellation due to scheduling issues, a five-day wait for service, no upfront pricing transparency, and a $550 charge for approximately 30 minutes of work. Prospective customers, particularly those who are cost- or time-sensitive, should request written pricing information and obtain comparison quotes before proceeding.
