Decided to randomly check the boiler room in my home and found a leak unbeknownst to me. Semi panicked as saw the potential that could result. Immediately got on Nextdoor to see if one of my neighbors knew any good plumbers in the area. I always abide by the contracting rule of contact at least 3 vendors. I work majority through text but contacted Mr. Taylor via text in the morning and got a call midday. His call came at the perfect time as the guy I had been texting all morning went mute which meant plumbing was his side job and I needed someone who could come fix that day. Mr. Taylor's call was unique as he walked me through everything that was wrong with my expansion tank from a simple picture. We talked for 10 minutes and his words were simple. "I can fix it, but I won't fix it like it's currently installed, I will correct it so it doesn't happen again" He's honest and knows his stuff and he's reasonable for the time and effort he spent. He picked up the supplies needed that were outside of what he carried in his truck and itemized the heck out of my final invoice and believe me I appreciated every bit of it. I respect any professional who can break their craft down to the point where anyone can understand and he does that. You have got to see these pictures, I went from an unstable leaking structure that could've did big time damage to something that's solid and if it were to ever cause a problem it would be mitigated by the 2.1 gallons of water that might exist and not the unlimited amount that was possible in the past. I called B & C Sewer and Drains yesterday, 7/7/21 to have my basement floor drain cleaned out. My appointment was today 7/8/21 at 9:00a, and Bill called to say he was in the area as soon as it turned 9:00a. The issue was a partially blocked drain preventing water from going down as it should. Once in a while I do have water backup, which may or may not be the same issue, but Bill suggested a backflow protector. I do have one, but it will not fit my drain readily so I'll have to get creative with a grinder. One more thing to add to my "honey do" list. Bill assessed the issue, went back to his work van, and started working. While I was on a conference call, Bill started working. No more than 15 minutes passed and Bill was showing me how he was able to flush water down the drain without any back up. With a storm approaching, this was one less thing I have to worry about. I just experienced the most thorough, professional and decent plumbing experience ever. B&C Sewer was scheduled to be at my home at 9am in Monday to address two running toilets and a sink that wouldn't drain. They arrived early but didn't come to the door. I saw them waiting and I called to invite them to begin work early If they wanted to. I anticipated that I'd be told that I need two new toilets and a new garbage disposer. Not at all! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! we had a major drain clog and called a national drain cleaning company who tried for more than an hour with an industrial snake and could not unclog the drain...He suggested we take the tile out of the bathroom floor and look underneath to see what the problem is with the plumbing.... we declined that approach. We called Bill after seeing his reviews on yelp he came out exactly at the appointed time..tried for a few minutes with the snake and then shifted to a machine that used air pressure and had the clog resolved within 30 minutes...Plus the price was half the price of what the national company would have charged!!! We needed a sewer back flow preventer installed on our main sewer line under our basement floor. Our basement had flooded a couple times with sewer back flow, and we got a grant from DC Water to have the work done. But we had a hard time finding a plumber who was willing to do this tough job. We got some quotes which were crazy high, and some plumbers who just said they weren't interested. But thank goodness we kept looking and found Bill with B & C. Bill was honest and thorough throughout the process. He spent a lot of time scoping out all our sewer lines to figure exactly where was best to do the install. Bill fixed a clogged drain-pipe leak for us that resulted in backed up and overflowing filthy water in our kitchen and basement mudroom sinks. Bill is a lifesaver! We had a nightmare scenario when the ejector (sewage) pump in our new home started leaking all over the floor. Not only did we not know that it wasn't a traditional sump pump, we also didn't know how to make it stop. We were bailing buckets of waste water out by hand. A plumber you can trust?? Unheard of. I'd been living with an upstairs plumbing issue for quite some time because 1) I just couldn't find the time to focus on it and 2) the one time I had the problem diagnosed the price I was quoted was damn near the cost of the house! I found B&C via online yellow pages. They had great reviews. I called and was biting my nails the entire time though I'd mentally prepared myself (or so I thought) for a wallet guzzling event.. Bill's diagnosing skills were accurate and he was able to solve the plumbing problem in a timely manner and for a very reasonable price. With other service providers, often times when a female calls the pricing and tone of the conversation change. Not the case here. He asked all the appropriate questions and worked to find the most cost effective solution. My friends and I, young professionals, all bought homes around the same time. As women we are very wary about who we let in our homes for service/home repair and who we trust re: billing. This was, hands down, awesome service. Great guy. It wasn't cheap, but it was incredibly fast and done professionally. I appreciate that because I don't have time to wait around in the middle of the workweek. He did mention my timing was impeccable because he happened to be two blocks away, so you may have to wait more, but clearly the will to give fast great service is there. He even told me how to fix the same problem myself in the future, including the tool to get and how he made his better, because he acknowledged that calling a plumber for a 10 minute job doesn't come cheap. This review is overdue - Bill came to check out an issue at a rental property and will forever remain my favorite plumber! He is amazing - the five star reviews are completely correct - he is the best. The tenants had previously been told, by Roto Rooter, that there was a broken fitting under the concrete in our basement. Roto Rooter claimed this based on having supposedly seen the issue with a camera, twice having sent a camera down. They quoted my husband several thousands of dollars. Enter Bill Taylor for a second opinion - and he had the problem fixed in an hour - it was absolutely not a broken fitting, nor under concrete, and his camera saw the issue immediately. In fact, Bill knew exactly what the camera was showing us - unbelievably it was a test balloon left in the pipe from a plumbing inspection seven years earlier. The builders had left it in the pipe and drywalled over it.. Bill's equipment found the exact spot in our drywall and if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed it.
