I cannot speak more highly of Safelite Santa Fe. We discovered that our car had a cracked…read morewindshield just days before we were to leave on vacation but we were able to make an appointment for remote service through our local Lewisville TX Safelite shop. The fellow who came to our home was friendly and professional and finished the job in a few hours and it seemed all was well. We left for Taos NM and had no problems until about a week later when we encountered our first rainstorm. I turned the wipers on and to my horror the passenger wiper went straight up and stopped but the driver's wiper went back and forth a few times before the blade caught the now stuck passenger wiper and flew off as though a prop in the movie Twister. I crept home in the storm at the pace of a slow jog and made it shook-up but safe. I immediately suspected the broken device must have been related to the new windshield so I called Safelite and after a great deal of AI runaround was finally connected to a very pleasant woman who took my information and said she would arrange to have someone come to the home where we were staying to look into the matter. The issue was that we had left the Lone Star State and were now staying for an extended period in the Land of Enchantment. Unfortunately, there is no Safelite shop in Taos, but they connected me with the store in Santa Fe, (1&1/2 hours away), who set up an appointment a few days later. This is where I was introduced to hero technician John Fernandez who called me to ensure he had the right info and said that since he lived in Taos I would be his last stop that afternoon. He showed up as promised and said that the problem stemmed from the fact that the Texas repair fellow had failed to reset the wiper motor after he'd removed the wipers but that it was an easy fix. He reset the motor but try as he might, he could not get the new wiper blade he brought from Santa Fe to attach to our Mercedes. He ended up calling his boss, (at home,) who Googled it and discovered that Mercedes uses proprietary wiper blades and only their wipers would work. Naturally the nearest Mercedes dealership is also in Santa Fe but the next day, while John was out in the field, his boss, (who also deserves kudos), obtained the appropriate blades from the dealer and John brought them to Taos that evening. I have to credit John for sticking to it like a pit bull on a bone - he was not going to let us down and he didn't. He should be made president of the company or at a minimum be given a medal.

Unbelievable. Dropped off at 9:30 for windshield replacement. Told return at ~2:00 (4-1/2hrs). At…read more2:00 told to come at 6:00 or pick up tomorrow...WTF!! Receptionist didn't even check with the service people for actual timing. I know business needs to fully book to make money but this ridiculous. Why bother to have appointments. Add to that I travel from Taos area and I'm not happy. Referred a number of people to this place based on previous experience. Likely will not book here again or recommend to anyone. You've lost access to a good customer. Bye.
