Well, i was very happy with my hitch installed by this company and Mario. On the industrial side of san carlos, good pricing. Mario had more sophisticated jobs than mine for lights and brakes on big trailers, so my job was fairly small. He told me what might happen in repair and what to expect, left car, rode bike home, he called me in less than 2 hours, rode my bike down, installed Thule rack, and drove home. After I dropped it off they said they did not have one and put on hold as I would need to get an additional adapter. Went to pick it up and they had put on the hitch anyway. And, not only did I need to find an adapter to buy, they had a couple hundred dollars in fees they never mentioned previously that I now owed? I could have gone elsewhere and had it done right the first time for less than what this ended up costing. In my opinion, I am surprised they are still in business with this scamming behavior. This is the second time, I got my hitch from A&B Trailer hitch. I was getting a Stealth Hitch installed and A&B is the cheapest places among the 3 places (Rack N Road, Eyers Hitch Center) I checked. The hitch was the same price as. you would get online and the installation labor was $390. Again, everything was done through text. Robert scheduled the appointment, gave me an accurate quote and had everything done in 2 hours. This time they started charging credit card fees which wasn't communicated through our text conversation. Since Robert wasn't on site when I visited them, they couldn't explained the price discrepancy. However, once I reached to Robert the following day, he quickly refunded me the fees. read more

Lets see, this establishment installed a hitch for my car promised in an hour, install took 35minutes!!! The staff was super friendly and informative, basic hitch install for me, Curt brand was installed on the rear of my Dodge Challenger, no lift needed. Just wood panels slightly inclined to allow the tech access to the bottom of the car. The establishment is cluttered with several hitches, allot of storage type trailers, some for horses, some different sized trailer type homes, this is on the outside, several trailers also on the inside, also several vehicles trucks, midsize and full size cars some boats. Bought a hitch online and figured we would just install it ourselves. Got stuck halfway and we decided to abort mission and decided to take it to a professional. Called several shops around the Bay Area (with good reviews) and A&B was the cheapest option (by $50 from the most expensive shop we called). You can call/text to get a price quote and make an appointment. It's in a convenient location as you can walk around the block to a lunch cafe while you wait. There is a tiny waiting area inside the office with 2 chairs, but it's more comfortable going to the cafe if tiny spaces aren't for you. Another car was ahead of me, so it took about 45 minutes for the install. Since I'm familiar with the installation process, I think it would take a pro about 15 to 20 minutes to do an install without a wait. Picked up the car and it was installed just fine. The owner is pretty easy going and down to Earth. Overall, I had a good experience and would recommend this place for anyone looking to install a hitch. read more
