I have used Five Points for serval difference services. *New Breaks *Oil Change *Tire Rotation and Wheel Alignment The first time I went to Five Points was because I was on my way to the Bay Area from NV and coming over the summit, there was a vibration of my steering wheel that seemed to be from the front end of the vehicle when braking going down the hill. Once I was in Redwood City, I called Five Points and talked to Victor. He told me to drop by whenever I could, I was able to go right over to the shop. I told Victor I would like to get new brakes but the vibration in the steering wheel was new. I left my car and soon after I received a phone call from Victor. He told me the threaded wheel stud was completely stripped. He text me a picture and told me they would fix that when they replace the brakes. This service was done so quick and no more problems with vibration in the steering wheel when braking. I now make Five Points my stop for oil changes, tire rotations, wheel alignments, new brakes and new tires. I just make an appointment before coming down to the Bay Area. I usually just wait in the waiting room, they have always been fairly quick getting any service done. Very fair prices and great work done here, if you want it done right. read more

I really like working with 5 points, I called ahead about smogging my truck and they told me that I could drop off it off after hours and they would take care of it the next day. I dropped off my truck and Victor when out of his way to run the test the same Day! Unfortuanatly it needed to do an additional drive cycle and I had to bring it back the following morning. In response to Victor's reply to my Yelp review. Now Victor claims he torqued the lug nuts to 100lbs and not the 150 spec dictated by Ford. And Victor further claims that the reason I heard the torque wrench click was because it was at 100lbs. This is NOT TRUE. I saw with my own eyes the tech set his torque wrench to 150 ft lbs. But let's say Victor is correct - which he is not. Then he used a non-factory torque setting after I specified setting it to the factory spec. Victor loses not matter which way you look at it. Victor claims there is nothing he can do to make me happy. That's right. How you make someone happy when you operate against company specs and you have the ability to do otherwise. Victor asks why I didn't mention my problem at the time. This is because the previous time I interacted with Victor on a different matter I wanted nothing more to do with him. I just wanted to come in and get a quick patch on a tire and get out of there. it's that simple. Notice that Victor keeps adding additional info from his original reply. Every time he gets trapped by his own argument he changes his story. My story has remained consistent and never changed. read more

I have been a very loyal customer of Five Points for many, many years, but I have been very disappointed with a couple of recent developments. One of my cars has a slow leak, and when I stopped by Five Points, I was told that "I might as well get brand new tires because the tires in question were quite worn." I went to Costco Tires afterwards, and was told that I still had 30% left on those tires. No rush. A couple of days later, the weather got cold, and the slow leak became more severe. I thought about fixing the slow leak again, and when I called, Five Points senses the urgency in my voice, and immediately raised the price to fix my slow leak. Naturally, as a customer, I called America's Tires nearby to get a competitive quote, and I was told "Oh, we fix all slow leaks for FREE." I said: "but I didn't buy the tires from you!" And I was told "that does not matter. We fix slow leaks for free." I scheduled an appointment right there and then. Five Points, this is not the right way to treat your customer. You should not take advantage of their loyalty. read more

I went in on Friday just to get air put in my tires, and even from when I called the man (I'm assuming a manager of some sort) was SO incredibly rude for no reason. I called and they came all the way up to pacifica 25 miles or so to pickup my car that wouldn't start. They called later on that day and found the issues and repaired it. I also needed new tires anyways so I asked if they could do that too. Repaired car and new tires in one day and they flat bed towed it back to my house the same night. Update: After seeing this review Victor invited me to call and we managed to come to a resolution that I'm very happy with. New tires, and my car is driving like it used to, what a relief. --- I've been to this place a couple times in the last 20 years, always outstanding. This time was a disaster. The worst tires I've ever had, when I went back in they found that the tires they installed we're not balanced, the front tires which they didn't replace but also didn't check were also not balanced, all four tires were not inflated to manufacturer specs, nor were they even equal from side to side. After waiting 20 minutes I drove away to discover that they still weren't inflated properly, five psi over spec.... I'm not sure I would be so irritated except these problems made the car unstable and unsafe many times on the highway while I was trying to figure out what was going on... Had a tire with a slow leak patched here. I didn't have an appointment and It took about 45 minutes. Overall happy with the service, but it cost $45 which seems high to me. I've previously gone to Skip's and they charge about 1/2 that. In fact Skips does it for free if you have your tires installed there.
