We have had A&E come out for a few different issues over the years, and we've had nothing but great service and awesome techs--I was genuinely surprised to see that other people have had such radically different experiences. 1) We had an ice-maker fail in a fridge. We put in a service ticket through American Home Shield, and had an appointment two days later. The technician showed up on time, was really pleasant, and ordered the part. When the part was received, they showed up two days after that and did the install--again showing up on time, completing the work quickly and being pleasant and efficient. 2) My parents have had A&E come out to deal with all the mischief with their Samsung refrigerator-from-hell. The techs who have been out there have been on-time, every time, and patiently dealt with that undergrad-engineering nightmare of a refrigerator without using any of the words *I* deployed in trying to figure it out. 2) The most recent issue--a dryer that needed roller-replacement--Put in a ticket with American Home Shield on Wednesday night, and received an appointment slot on Friday. We received an update to give us a more specific time that the tech would arrive, the tech called and sent a text to let us know he was on his way, and he showed up on time. Sage was great--he gave our dryer a thorough check, and identified a couple of other things in addition to the rollers that were not quite right. He checked on parts availability, let us know when they were expected to arrive, and gave us a time frame on when to expect the next service call to be scheduled. Did I mention that Sage was great? Friendly, polite, pleasant, efficient, and NICE. A&E has already set another appointment for them to come out to replace the parts. While they're being paid through the warranty, we were still provided an estimate of the cost of the repair--which was definitely reasonable for the parts, two tech visits, and the labor for the repair. If I weren't getting A&E through the home warranty, I'd be calling them anyway because the service, the techs, and the communication have all been outstanding. read more

Took a lot longer than I anticipated probably due to their needing to surf for instructions. Disgrace. This repair company needs to be closed down! Service was only through AI. Service finally set for repair on washer and dryer. Tech came, never took out a tool and then just ordered parts for both. He set up two different days for appointments. Parts delivered here and ready for appointment dates. No show for dryer. 8am to 5pm I waited. Couldn't get live person to see what was going on. Next appointment two men came, one of which was the first tech, they only did work on washer and would not do dryer. They wouldn't even speak to me and left. I purchased this extended plan through Assurant Service Protection Advantage and at first they used reliable servicemen. Now they use this horrible A&E Factory Service. This company is the absolute worst and I wish I would have checked reviews before scheduling my repair through my warranty company. My refrigerator stopped cooling well and I had to wait nearly a month for this scheduled repair. I tried to get an earlier appointment and was told I would be called. I had the option at one point of switching to another company with a similar date but at that point, it was close to my scheduled date and I thought this was a Sears repair center. In the month I waited, my refrigerator became non operational. I hung in there and got repeated confirmations that they would be coming on my scheduled date including at 5 pm the day before. Then suddenly later that night they cancelled (by text) and rescheduled for another three weeks later. No explanation, no phone call, and no care. Do not use this company. What a scam. read more

Worst company to deal with. they say you can talk to someone but you cannot talk to anyone. They expect you to sit all day and night literally. I had an appointment on 09/26 and they said they will be there between 8:00am-5:00pm. They arrived at 6:45pm after changing it 5 times. Took screen shots each time it was updated. They ordered parts but cannot come until October 20th to repair and most likely will be waiting all day and night. I do not have the time to sit and do laundry at place. Our refrigerator freezer light stopped working. We checked the manual and it did not address this issue. And by the way, the manual is a joke. It is not very helpful at all. Next step was to Google a manual on line. When you type the model number in, it shows a completely different lighting system. Not helpful. Then we called the company. After giving them the model number, they told me that the light should not have done this. They then made an appointment for a repair person to come out and fix it. At least we purchased a warranty which was still in effect. No charge for the repair. They gave me an appointment between 8am-5pm. I tried to change the timing to a short time span on line. However that was the only time schedule they offered. Fast forward a few weeks later. The repair person called while he was on his way. He looked at the problem and said he had never seen anything like this. He would have to order a new light and come back to install it. They knew what the issue was. It makes me wonder why they did not have an extra light on hand? We also mentioned that the 8am-5pm timing was not very customer friendly. He stated that once ago, the company had given morning or afternoon appointments. Recently the Management changed the timing to provide more flexibility for the repair person. This is backwards thinking but we will wait it out. We have no other choice since we have no idea what size or wattage the bulb is. read more

Most horrible customer service EVER! Repeatedly given 800 numbers to call, which don't allow you to speak to a human and end the call. 8-5 arrival time for my 3rd appointment!!!!! Today it was 8-12 which was shocking but by 2 pm no show. They finally called to reschedule for Wednesday! We had a scheduled appointment for today to diagnose a dryer issue. We set aside the four hour window so that we could be available for our appointment which was, and is, still active on our account page for today. Nobody has shown up. Nobody has called. Nobody has provided us any indication of when they will be rescheduling this appointment. Their customer service was absolutely horrendous and provided no clear solution to this problem and no new appointment options. A&E Factory Service is contracted by our 2-10 Home Warranty, and frankly, neither company is reliable. Our oven door has been broken and on April 13, 2023, we submitted a service request. Eventually A&E Factory Service was contracted. They arrived, said new hinges were needed, 2-10 Home Warranty ordered the hinges, A&E Factory Service was paid the required deductible by us, the people with the broken oven door, and scheduled a time to return to make the repair. A&E Factory Service no-showed that appointment and texted us that they would be arriving between 8 a.m. & 5 p.m. on May 26th. We waited at home all day, and there is no way to contact them to get in touch with the actual repair person. I called 2-10 Home Warranty, held for almost 30 minutes, and was told that A&E Factory Service would be arriving before 8 p.m. True to form, A&E Factory Service no-showed, but did send a text stating that they will arrive on May 31, 2023, to perform a repair with parts that are at our home, from a service request that was submitted on April 13. If we hadn't already paid A&E Factory Service the deductible, we would go with a different, reliable company, and hopefully one where you can actually speak to a human. Because of our 2-10 Home Warranty we were not given a choice of repair companies and have been without an oven since the beginning of April. We recently had a service call for a recall repair on our gas stove. The manufacturer arranged the repair to be performed by a&e 2 weeks later. I was informed by email and text of the repair date and received periodic updates for the next 2 weeks. The day of the repair the technician called and texted his arrival time. The tech arrived and the repair was performed smoothly. The tech was professional and communications from all parties was excellent. Called Sears appliance repair, in turn I got these clowns. My refrigerator wasn't cooling. First tech said it needed freon, so he charged me $600 to recharge freon. 24 hours later still not cooling. Next tech said I had a bad compressor, so I paid $900 to order a new one and wait another week to have it installed. Third tech said it's not the compressor it's the "yoder" loop and cannot be repaired. He took the compressor and said I would be reimbursed. After several calls for my money back I called my CC and disputed the charges to get my $900 back. Called Affordable Appliance Repair and Dave found the leak in the heat exchanger and it's up and running. They came out to repair our LG refrigerator. We were told by the tech that our condenser wasn't covered even though this fridge was only 6 years old and had already had a new condenser less than 2 years after we purchased it. We were not happy, but we needed it fixed. Over $700 later we had a working fridge again. A month later the ice maker quite working. A tech from LG service came out and discovered that the tech from A&E shouldn't have charged us anything for the previous repair because it was under warranty. Now we are struggling to get our money back from them. He never gave us a copy of the bill, just charged us. I had to request a copy of the bill and saw that he charged us over $700 for labor! Our dryer's timer stopped functioning and our dryer stopped producing heat. Our warranty scheduled a service technician to assess and diagnose our dryers' malfunction. This appliance repair company sent out emails, phone calls, and text reminders prior to our appt. The service tech called to let us know when he was on his way. He did a full assessment and explained the diagnosis of our dryer. Ordered parts. Scheduled the repair. I sent an email to this company requesting the same service tech repair our dryer that assessed its malfunction. This company obliged. The same service tech called the day of our scheduled repair appt that he was on his way. And he fixed our dryer! Excellent communication and customer service. HORRIBLE COMPANY. Had a repair done mid August fridge stopped cooling and making ice after repair. Rescheduled another appointment had to wait 1-2 weeks for parts to come in. This company had us on the schedule and never showed or called for our appointment last week. Since they have rescheduled twice. It will be over a full MONTH with no refridgerator due to their inability to show up or have employees who can do the repairs. This is the first time I have ever written a negative review. This company deserves it; customers and consumers should be warned not to do business with them. We have the Home Warranty program. Home Warranty selected this company to do the repairs. The technician misdiagnosed the problem; not once but on multiple occasions. After 4 attempts (over 2 plus months), the appliance was still not functioning. The same technician wanted to try a 5th time and would not certify the appliance has non-repairable. He would not divulge his supervisor's telephone number; he refused to put her or him on the phone and could only supply a 1-800 number that was not responsive. The incompetence, poor judgment and utter failure of basic customer service was absolutely stunning. We now have to negotiate with Home Warranty for a replacement. If Home Warranty reads this, they should take this company off their list of contractors. The ordinary customer should not have anything to do with this company; it will be a bad experience. read more

A & E was sent out via my Best Buy warranty to fix my washer on March 2, 2022. The technician stated it needed a new transmission so he ordered that and re-scheduled for March 9, 2022 to install. He replaced the transmission on March 9, 2022 and stated it was working and left. I immediately put in a load of towels to wash and to my disappointment, the washer was displaying the same symptoms it was having originally. It will not complete a full wash cycle and then locks the lid so it is difficult to open. In order to open lid, you need to unplug, wait 2 minutes and push the start button. I did all this numerous times and it still would not function. I immediately contacted the 1-800-905-9505 # and could barely understand the person taking my call. I asked if the call was being accepted in the USA and they said "NO, it was overseas". I tried to explain the problem to the rep and she stated very clearly the tech would be back by my house by 6pm. No one showed. This morning (March 10) I called their 1-800-905-9505 # again. This time a different person from across the pond answered. He stated that the technician closed the work order and I would have to contact Best Buy Geek Squad again to setup another appointment. By this time I am pretty upset. I contacted Best Buy and requested a different company handle this work order. A & E should not be in business. DO NOT use A & E to service your Best Buy appliances UNLESS you want more issues and hassles. read more

My 15 month old Maytag washer no longer would start/finish the spin cycle. It's out of the first year warranty and the 10 year warranty was limited. Going through Maytag would result in a 2 week wait due to availability and I called Sears. Kwang, the technician was punctual, called 15 minutes prior to arriving, was no nonsense and fixed my washer and filled me in on some of the parts that could be affected and some other helpful information. read more

Horrible service.... I purchased a replacement freezer, brand new Frigidaire, through Home Depot, on Aug 18th (after 2 month waiting list). Delivered sept 3rd... and of course not working... after several calls Home Depot, Frgidaire... A&E was sent out for warranty repair. Tech shows... within10min "freon issue" a leak, compressor? I say ok fit it... Tech says no, I have to call frigidaire "get approval for repair"....I say: but thats what they sent you here for! While I'm on hold/phone w/frigidaire... the tech leaves WTF!! After 2 calls A&E (20+mins hold each) with Cris.. still same answer "frigidaire has to approved repair" WTF Frigidaire sent A&E to repair the freezer.... SO you A&E call, and get the approval and fix it? I asked to speak to her supervisor... her reply: we have several and their all busy! One will call back 24-48hrs. read more

Not sure this will even help anyone since there are so many terrible reviews and people still use them. The first issue was washer went out and parts took over a month. I WAS told by an agent that if my machine was not fixed within 21 days, I would get a check for a new one. NOT TRUE at all. The agent lied and said he escalated my claim and I would get the check in 5 days. Finally, all the parts came and called to make my appt. I made the appt and then called the next day to confirm and they had no record at all of me calling or making an appt. I made another appt for the next day and got the confirmation email and then 2 hours later, get another email saying I rescheduled my appt for a week later. Of course I called them and they told me that the notes said I was the person that cancelled and rescheduled, it was most certainly not me and they said I was lying as there was no other way it could have happened. So now, my appt. is apparently in 3 days but I am not holding my breath. I am considering taking them to small claims court since lawyers are not allowed and they probably wont even show up so I can get the judgement by default. read more

We have had some horrible service contracted through Home Warranty of America (HWoA) over the years, lazy companies with poorly trained technicians and awful customer service, are the standard they have offered my family. I am happy that I have a home warranty, the appliances in my home and my AC have been problematic since we purchased our home in 2015. It feels horrible that I am at the will of repair companies that are so inept. My Washing machine broke last week, so we called HWoA to make a claim, they processed our complaint and set up an appointment with A&E factory service. There technician showed up, worked on our washer for a while. He said it was repaired and good to go. Told us to let the washing machine run one full cycle and it would be ready to use, he started the machine and the left. It was only running 14 minutes and errored out and shut off. We called A&E Factory Services immediately, they apologized and said they would send a technician back out the same day. No one ever showed, after being stood up, we called back again. This time A&E told us sorry their system was down, and we would have to deal with our warranty company NOT THEM. Our home warranty told us to they could start a whole new claim, new charges and a week wait for a new appointment with the same company (A&E) that did not fix my washer in the first place and left the job. It is the only company they contract with in our area. This answer seems so unsatisfying, we live in the phoenix metro area, it's quite large and may need more than one repair company. So, we called A&E back this morning hoping their system was working. There system was up but they still did not want to help. When we asked to speak with a supervisor we got hung up on and had to call back. Finally, we got A&E supervisor Evalyn on the phone, and she offered a future appointment in another week, and basically made it ok for her company to be inept because of manning issues. This is not ok, be able to do your job, or close your doors, we should not be victims of awful service and no repairs with long wait times, because your company settled. Honor our repair contract, do your job and repair our washer, just like you got PAID to do. read more
