When driving them up there I wasn't thrilled with having to travel 60 miles one way to look at cars. We made the trip and they weren't too bad to find. They had an appointment which made our lives a bit easier as well. We got there a bit later in the afternoon and met with the salesman, Alan who showed us the vehicle in question. We checked the car out and took a test drive in it and then tried one other vehicle for comparison. After we were done, they settled on the first vehicle we checked out. Bear in mind that they were looking to buy a used car because of the pricing. Overall, the car seemed pretty good with new brakes and tires on it. There were some cosmetic issues, but that is to be expected on a vehicle that is over 10 years old. It was in much better shape than some of The other vehicles we have looked at. We went through the whole process of working on financing and arranging insurance and they took the car in the back to give it a final cleaning and once over. By the time we were finished, the dealership was actually closed. We went out with the salesman to get the car And ended up discovering a problem with the door locks. Period the salesman gave it a quick check and apologize for the issue. He offered to have them repair it, but we would have to either leave the vehicle or come back. We decided to take the vehicle and he set up an appointment With service for the following day. They took the vehicle back in the following day to have it checked out and found the problem. They had to order a part which meant the vehicle was gonna have to be brought back another time. They also found a couple of other Small items that they took care of. This can be frustrating for people, but having worked in automotive for so many years and understanding that this is a used vehicle. We work with them on it as they were being as helpful as they could. A couple of other trips had to be made back to the dealer to make sure everything else was in order and get the door locks fixed but now the car is in very good working order for its age. The kids have been very satisfied with it and it is performed very well for them. They have been very happy with The gas mileage that it gets because fuel has gotten so pricey again. If you were up in this area and needed a vehicle, I would definitely recommend Alan. He was very friendly and personable while also being professional in his job. With the minor issues we had he tried to go out of his way to make sure that we were happy.

Don't skimp on the service once my number is up: you ask me if I want a car wash and don't deliver. And not resetting the oil change button is annoying. My tire pressure isn't the same on all tires. Did you NOT rotate my tires as expected? All of this makes me wonder what else was missed?

They are kind, understanding, and like a family to us. They stand behind their work. We recently had a warranty issue and they took full responsibility for it. They replaced the part that had gone bad, and then went over and above to make sure that all of the other points of the vehicle were tip top. I'm changing that review to 1 star because what happened after the sale was a completely different story. The review pattern makes sense to me now. Most of the 5-star reviews are about sales. A lot of the 1-star reviews are about service. I did not understand how real that split was until I needed serious warranty work. According to Nissan Consumer Affairs' own records, my truck spent 33 days out of service at this dealership alone (not including the additional time it later spent at another Nissan dealer). They did attempt repairs, but once they could not solve the major warranty issues, management put a path forward in writing through Nissan Consumer Affairs and then later reneged on that written agreement without notice. I escalated through management, BBB, and Nissan Consumer Affairs, so there is no misunderstanding and no lack of communication. Everything is documented. When I pursued the BBB route, the dealership responded by changing the story, denying what had already been documented, and publicly presenting a version of events that was flatly inconsistent with the written record. What made the reality impossible to ignore was this: another Nissan dealership (the one Nissan Consumer Affairs sent me to after DeLand Nissan declined to continue) later verified the same issues and began major repairs under Nissan oversight. That should tell you exactly where the problem was. If you buy here and plan to service the vehicle somewhere else, you may be fine. If this is the shop you expect to stand behind the vehicle after the sale when serious warranty issues come up, buyer beware. A REAL REVIEW…read more Both my Toyota RAV4 and Nissan Frontier have been serviced by South bay auto since about 2010 to June 20, 2022. The old man (previous owner) died sometime in the previous 12-14 months prior to the above date, and the quality went down and pricing up. However the customer service is 1st rate, and you will feel great after your experience there, if you know little about cars, and who does.....me. LOL On my (wife's) Toyota RAV4 I had South Bay Auto replace both front axels, the alternator, front, rear rotors + pads, trans fluid screen, trans fluid more than once, various oil + filter changes, Air Conditioning core (requires complete dash board removal), tie rods and a several other repairs. I do believe the heater core was replaced twice. The work was done professionally and at a fair price. However in the last couple of years I did suspect without, any proof, there may have been some add-ons. On my Nissan I did not feel as good about my repairs....I will explain, I kept accurate records, and inspections. On Feb. 27, 2019, I had South Bay Auto replace the upper and lower radiator hoses. After the repairs, I brought my Nissan to my home garage, I inspected the work, and found it faulty. I found the top radiator hose installed rubbing against a bracket on the radiator. With the vibration of the engine, a hole will develop at the hose, when rubbing against the bracket, a year or more later. This actually happened to me on another vehicle. Not trusting South Bay Auto I removed the bracket and installed it 3/8 inch away from the hose. The next day I brought my Nissan to South Bay Auto and showed him the shoddy work his people did on my Nissan. The last time my Nissan was serviced at South Bay Auto was on June 20, 2022. I had them replace the front rotors + pads, and drain + fill the differential oil. I supplied the new parts + container of differential oil and almost always want to receive the used parts from the dealer or repair shop for my vehicle. Two or three weeks later I noticed that the container of oil I had given to South Bay Auto to drain + fill of my differential, the oil that they had returned to me, the seal had not been broken. Looks like either the oil was drained and filled with the shops own oil, and I was only charged with labor, no charge for the oil. Or the oil was never changed , only oil level checked . Now there are times a misunderstanding happens, but never to the customers benefit....LOL

Overpriced Paid for new parts, received used parts. 9/16/25…read morehad a timing belt replaced at 152,128 miles. 12/22/25 (97 days later) at 154,052 miles vehicle was making noise. We watched SubarusRUs remove timing belt and they showed us there was No marking or writings on it, it was an OLD belt. They said it was impossible for the belt to be completely black and void of any indications of marking or writing if it had been new 3 months ago. Additonally the timing belt tensioner was totally shot. All new parts were supposedly replaced by almands on Sept 16. Also the belt cover was taken off to do the work and was never put back on. All the work had to be redone that almands charged me for. Its impossible that all markings wore off a supposedly brand new timing belt in less than 2,000 miles and 97 days
