I ended up putting more than $7,000 into repairs, only to later find a hole in the frame near the gas tank. I filed a complaint with the State of Florida, but was told there was nothing they could do because the vehicle was sold "AS‑IS." The dealership gave me a few hundred dollars to withdraw the complaint, and I took it, hoping I could still save the truck. Unfortunately, things only got worse. In December, when I went to get new tires and an alignment, I was told the rust had advanced so badly that an alignment wasn't even possible. The frame is now so compromised that it would require a major overhaul--likely another $10,000--to even attempt to salvage it. After spending nearly $28,000 in just two years, I had no choice but to drain my savings to buy another truck, and now I'm stuck with a car payment. A very expensive lesson learned. If you zoom in on the photo you will see it is an aftermarket speedometer bolted in with 4 bolts. It is not the factory original gauge that came with the van. We estimate that this van has closer to a half a million miles rather than the 135,707 they claim. If you have purchased a step van from Longwood Truck Center with an odometer that has a PRICOL or VDO replacemment speedometer/odometer please reach out to us, or contact your attorney.
