Called ahead to get a quote on replacing a power steering line and belt on my Honda Odyssey, was given a really great quote over the phone (lower than I had expected) I was told that they could have the work done the same day if I brought it in early enough. Well, things did not go as planned the next morning and I was late with bringing it to the shop. THEY STILL completed the work the same day....AND at the price that I was quoted. I half expected to be told that the final price was going to be higher than what I was quoted... (so many others do the old "bait & switch" thing) This did not happen. Mike was very courteous and professional and was straight up with me.... as was the receptionist there (sorry, I cannot remember her name.... but she was very friendly and professional) There was no "up-sell" BS involved here. The work that I needed done...WAS done and was done promptly and properly. A&M has just gained another loyal customer, as I will DEFINITELY be taking my vehicles here from this point forward. All of my coworkers use these guys as their mechanics so I tried them out when I had a problem with the electric in my car. The 2 owners are friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. They found the problem very quickly (it was 80 cents stuck in the cd slot!) and charged me a reasonable price. Mike also made a list of other things that I should slowly start fixing on the car-without charging me for it. These guys will come out to your place of business as well to do oil changes. They are very competitively priced and will not rip you off. After that great experience I will only trust them with my cars and recommend them...if you don't live in the east county it is worth the drive to get your car repaired by this company. read more

According to the Nissan Repair Shop, my 2010 Nissan Rogue with 56,600 miles needed a complete Axle Assembly ASAP (something Pep Boys had done and screwed up a few months back). Nissan quoted me $1400 P&L just for that. Then they said I'd also required tranny work within 3 months. Who knows how much that would have cost?! Mike Martin and his mechanic inspected it, then quoted me about $600 for BOTH to be done (tranny just needed fluid) at no immediate rush. Mike...thank you!! I have many different cars and trucks and I take everything here. I found them just two months ago and they will have my business as long as they want it. They are worth driving from anywhere. Mike is truly the definition of a good guy. As a young female, most mechanics will try and rip me off and sell me things that I don't need. Mike is completely honest, friendly, fast and efficient and I disagree with Meesh B about his prices being slightly higher. I've found his prices to be much lower than other places I'd been previously quoted for the same work. You can call Mike at any time and he'll give you the advice you need. I currently live in LA and I still call him for advice if my car is acting up. He'll let me know the price range of what I should be paying and what the problem should be (so I don't get an up-sell kind of mechanic ripping me off). All of the guys at his shop are friendly and trustworthy. I won't take my car any other place. My entire family makes sure to bring all of our vehicles to Mike, even for something like an oil change. He even does the fleet of trucks for my dad's business. He's truly the best mechanic I've dealt with and a real stand-up guy. I can't recommend him enough! First time I've ever left a review before. It's hard to find a mechanic that you like and is honest. I brought in my Ford F-150 and I was expecting the worst. They were friendly and upfront about the problem and the cost. He took the time to explain the defect. He told me what he knew was defective and needed to be replaced. He also told me upfront that there could be other issues but there was no way to say for sure without first replacing the known bad parts. Thankfully that fixed my problem and the cost was less than expected. He suggested I get my oil changed too. Didn't push it but explained old oil was dirty and the importance of regular oil change with 2005 F150. I did a lot of research on the problem, etc before bringing it in and he was spot on with his explanation and repair. The repair was done the same day too. Bottom line is I will definitely go back to A & M and recommend them to friends. Also my wife said the receptionist was super friendly and helpful. My car broke down the other night, I called them the next morning and Mike came out to my house and was very nice, and told me exactly what he would do and how much it would cost and hauled my car away and fixed it the same day! I was so relieved, Bobby and Andrew also worked on my car and when they were done, the quote was lower than expected!!! A friend recommended Mike to me when I moved back to Cali from Arizona. Just before I returned, I had my '08 Tucson's' 45k service done at the dealer I had bought it at and always used for service. They told me that I needed new breaks and a new timing belt, so I took it in to Mike to have the work done. As a new customer, he did a once over to check it out and told me that the timing belt was good for another 15k miles and that the breaks could wait till my next oil change or even the one after that. He did replace my wiper blades and a light bulb and I got out of there for less than $25!!! What a blessing just before Christmas! Mike isn't getting coal in his stocking! LOL. read more

took truck to this mechanic(Mike) for what turned out to be a clogged catalytic converter. they had my truck for three days. when I picked it up,it had a bad exhaust leak. they had not welded around the joint where the cat connected to the pipe. I returned to have them weld the cat to the exhaust pipe, during which time he stripped two of the three studs which hold the pipe to the manifold,and told me ,I might have to bring it in some other time to repair it. the next time I called, he would not return my call. I have been driving the truck for several months by applying high temp silicone sealer around the flange,which lasts about a week each time. I had the cat on the other side replaced about a year earlier by wally's muffler @ about three hundred dollars. A&M charged me over five hundred for the same repair and damaged my truck. I'm not sure what else they did to it, but it often will not start unless I depress the accelerator while cranking the engine over. these guys totally screwed up my otherwise nice truck. I don't think my truck will ever run right again,if so,I'm sure it will cost me. read more
