I received good solid recommendations & service repairs from Ron (owner). In my opinion, he went above and beyond what the typical auto service shops provide nowadays. Talking with him brought me back to the days when shops actually took the time to talk with their customers and build a trustworthy business relationship. He not only told me what was needed for my vehicle, he showed me so I could see it for myself. And, explained what I was looking at. He also let me know what could wait and what needed immediate attention. In addition, he gave me valuable information on what vehicle(s) to purchase and best places to purchase in the future if I decide to go that route since my car was so old (2001) and parts for it are becoming obsolete. Ron's advice was gold to me. I ended up buying a newer year car from a place he suggested and brought it to him to inspect before sealing the deal with the car dealership. Unfortunately I've had to come here a lot recently for various reasons on my Subaru. They replaced my wheel hub assembly. Then my car overheated, and they replaced the thermostat, water pump, timing belt, pulleys, etc. Then I had a check engine light and they replaced the plugs and wires. Now my radiator exploded and I just scheduled another appointment. I like the fact that you can supply your own new parts as long as they're quality parts. Don't cheap out here. Stick to oem or oem quality. Labor rates are pretty standard for the area. When they changed the water pump, timing belt, and pulleys, they charged me for one job (not three separate jobs). My only complaint is that it sometimes takes awhile to get your car back. They're short on mechanics. read more

I'm sorry to have to write this negative review against A&R. I have never done this before. I brought my car in for a rattle to be diagnosed and repaired. $910.60 later I still have the noise, only its worse! He won't cover it under warranty. He replaced parts that we only a year old with new, trying to find the problem. Now he tells me that its inside the transmission. Why didn't he say that in the beginning? This guy is all about the money. If you are a senior, STAY AWAY!!! Terrible experience, I now have a car that is no longer drive-able after following his advice. I don't know if this is elder abuse, but it sure feels like it. All he wants to do is argue and doesn't want to fix it. UGH! I'm going to file a complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs. read more

Ron was very nice and got me in the same day so I'm kind of pained to have to write a negative review. We're new in town and was hoping to find a new family mechanic for our vehicles based on the rave Yelp reviews- I'm sad to say, we're still looking. We have a pretty old vehicle- 26 years old to be exact- but it's been dependable and well taken care of and it is my husband's commuter car so it's pretty important to our family. My husband has a 30 minute commute and the car began shaking, stalling at lights, and is sometimes hard to start. It's been going on for a while and he was finally worried enough that he didn't feel safe. Ron got us in and my husband explained all the issues. We dropped it off and he called a couple hours later to say that the front tires were bad and the alignment was off so that was the reason for the shaking. He gave me the option of 2 tires: a good one for $91 or a better one for $112. I told him the $91 would be fine. I would normally go to a tire shop for tires rather than a mechanic shop but it was already there and being worked on; 2 birds 1 stone. He told me he was waiting for it to cool down so he could figure out why it was having trouble starting and he would let me know. This was at 10:30am. I didn't hear back from him until 4:30 when he said it was ready to be picked up. I was a bit surprised but relieved it was done and asked for a total- $600. I was a bit speechless but we went down to pick it up and I asked what was wrong with it. He informed me he had replaced all 4 tires and it was $100 for a diagnostic. Yet, nothing was repaired except for a wire that had come lose. I asked if he was able to do the alignment and he said "no". I asked if he figured out why it was stalling and he said he didn't know but it may need a tune up. For $100 diagnostic, I would really like to know what is wrong with it! I really think the communication should have been better and I would've liked to receive an estimate before giving the go ahead for 4 tires. If I would've been told that I was just receiving new tires for $600, I would've gone to pick it up and gotten better tires for less. read more

Will be reported to the BBB, yes Ron was fast and diagnosed my vehicles issues. Said he wasn't going to charge me for the diagnostic fee. Ended up on my receipt. Along with another extra hour of charges. Brought him two of my vehicles again the work was done in a timely manner. I asked him to change the brakes. He failed to tell me that the rotors needed to be changed so not even 30 days later car is still shaking now I need both new brakes and rotors. Multiple extra fees on the receipt //extra hourly charges. charge is $110 for an oil change. No proof of oil being synthetic. Needless to say both my vehicles are still running like shit even after spending $1500. Thanks buddy really appreciate you.! read more

For the longest time, I have been looking for a good, HONEST, and reliable mechanic after having back-to-back bad experiences (where I had to take my car in multiple times and leave for days without fixing the problem) at service center where I purchased my car in Roseville. Yesterday my car gave out on me and at 10 AM this morning I dropped off my car at A&R Auto Tech here in Lincoln after looking at different shops. I spoke to Ron (I think the owner) I told him what happened to my car. He said that he would diagnosed the car and would let me know what the problem was and how much it would cost to fix it. I also told him that I had a warranty with my car through the dealership that I purchased it (I would NOT take back to again for work). He said it wouldn't be an issue. He called me and told me what the problem was, how much it will cost and how long it would take him to fixed it. He was very patient with my warranty company because they kept putting him in on hold for 30 minutes or more each time he called with no one picking up. I even called them and they could do anything for me!! He kept me up to date with everything what was happening. By 4pm I had my car and driving off!! Ron and A&R Auto Tech worked quickly with fixing my car, handled ALL the paper work and compared to my original quote from dealership, I paid a fraction of the cost. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!! A rat had crawled up into my a/c system and was decomposing... The summer heat was leaving my truck smelling horrific. I called Monday, 7/3, and explained my situation. Ron (the owner) told me to come by, and once he smelled how bad things were he for me he fit me in and took care of my truck personally. Ron found the dead rat, showed me where it was, and even put a deodorizer in my system. 1. He got me in right away on a holiday weekend when everyone else had me waiting at least a week. 2. I was 100% satisfied with my service. I had been quoted over $600 to replace 1 fuel injector in my vehicle from Firestone. I called and Ron informed me that's to much and explained to me what the repair entailed and the price for the part, He is very knowledgable and truly seems to be about the customer. I know absolutely nothing about cars. I'm probably really naive in thinking that when I pay for a service, it's done properly, correctly, ethically, etc... I normally take my car to the dealership and pay a fortune. My car is finally paid off with 137000 miles. I know I'll need a new car soon but I'm trying to hold off. Anywho, I noticed green sludge dripping under the right side of my car. I debated for a long time whether or not to go to dealership or try a local automotive shop. I chose the later. I'm glad I did. Ron is cool and gets straight to the point. I felt he really tried to help me. He went outside and showed me exactly where my leak was coming from. Smh!
