Everyone that works here is amazing. They painstakingly worked on my Volvo, whittling down the possibilities (engine light on, would not pass smog.). Turns out there was a coil in the engine that was intermittently misfiring, causing the catalytic converter to go bad. They did an AMAZING job diagnosing this. Prices were always very fair. The ladies who work at the front desk are hysterical and nice, and they seem to know everything about cars. Like EVERYTHING. This shop will work on all my cars for eternity. Take your car here. I paid up front for my ignition switch in my 2001 Toyota Sienna to get done and then they called me and said they did not have the proper equipment to finish it. They altered my invoice, added an extra charge that was not approved and refused to give me my key until I paid it.i had to tow my van from this shop to a dealership and have Toyota deAler do the work. I would NEVER trust these people ! Claim has been filed with California automotive bureau and the better business bureau. There was No denying any further diagnostics, they said they didn't know they needed to code my key to the van! Took my 72 El Camino to have my new Edelbrock carb adjusted and timing checked. First, car was to be worked on at 7:30 and didn't get a mechanic until 9:30+. Second, my intake manifold had been bead blasted and without stains. My intake manifold now has gas stains, gaskets on carb are leaking as well as pump. Once again, my carb is new, two months, and had no leaks prior. Returned to George's and lead mechanic says they did nothing to cause the NEW problem and it just happened by coincidence! We didn't know where to go so we googled some places in our area, this was the second place on the list and we chose right! Husband was quoted around $950 for repairs. That was about what we expected, so he said go ahead. Went to pick the car up and the charge was over $1400. Apparently when they called husband at work with the estimate they asked if they should "do the whole job", but did not state that the car also needed a new power steering pump which was not included in the initial estimate. Since it was all done over the phone, we have no recourse. Then, their credit card machine wasn't working so they wanted to take a copy of driver's license and credit card so they could run the card when the machine was back up in a few days. This screams of identity theft and I wasn't having any of that, but husband wanted his car back and they wouldn't release it without guaranteed payment. The people seem friendly enough, but after reading other reviews, it seems that we're not the only ones with issues regarding their business practices, and we won't be returning. Husband has already torn off the license plate frames they put on his car as advertising. read more
