Updating my review June 29th 2019. Management must have read my original review because The last couple of times we've been here its improved. Employees helped us unload our truck and even helped us sort some bottles on individual colors. This never really happened before. Which is nice because it does speed up the line. They now have an Express line for CRV recycling for people with smaller loads. Most of the employees were helpful and nicer too. I appreciate that because nobody really wants to be here and it makes the whole process a bit more tolerable. read more

like others have said these guys ripp you off. I had over 100lbs of plastic and not only did they switch it to glass they also put that I had 100lbs of glass and only 50 of plastic. doing the math i would have made close to $200 on the plastic alone but I got $65 and the "glass" was only $10 or so. do not go to this place! read more

This place pays less than half the national average. they don't set prices based on the market. they make up there own bases on completion . if there's no other yards around they take advantage of that by low balling the community. when the copper average is $3.50 they pay a buck fifty. steel is at $250 a ton the pay $120 a ton. and they get away with it cuz competition is low. on top of this they don't even sell metal anymore. they are not very friendly either and treat people like there a nuisance to them. if you have the time drive your scrap to san jose and you'll make more than double the cash! read more

I brought aluminum and cooper and they tried to tell me it was normal metal. Be careful bc they will rip you off.

They are all great! Always helpful and courteous! Hard working people! They are top notch!

Customer Service does not exist at A & S. As a woman alone I thought maybe I would get some assistance lifting large stacks of cardboard and heavy bags. At times I struggled but not one man offered help. Then I was told to move my car over, putting it exactly where he told me to, and ten seconds later was told to move it again. I know this is just a recycling place but it is still a business, and there should be some customer service (including being a bit nicer.) read more

A & S is perfect for simply dropping off cardboard, worn aluminum yard chairs and old TV's plus other stuff; call them for confirmation. Simply drop off at selected areas; I never have much so never bother staff for credit but they do have compensation for large loads. read more

One of the most inefficient operations known to man. If you plan to do some recycling on a Saturday, plan for at least 30 minutes waiting...just waiting. It's a lot like that Hertz commercial, "they try hard". Unfortunately, A&S is about the only game in town any longer. read more

Do NOT use! As a national company we use scrap yards from coast to coast. This is by far the worst recycling center I have ever dealt with. They cost me time and money, my crews spent time waiting at their locations while I hashed out an already agreed upon contract. If you have to deal with them make sure you have something in writing before you show up. read more
