Then disappeared again for a good hour throughout the move on the phone. Took additional 15min outside calculating the end total and charged me that 15min after they were done. They spent an hour getting one piece of furniture down the stairs. Victor, being a novice himself, coaching them for said hour. I asked for three to speed the process along and I got one person standing there doing nothing other than listening to Victor "training him" on his first paid move. Completely ripped off, and he knew very well, but nothing you can do in that situation. They were slow and deserved a couple beers and pizza for the move. Nothing like what he charged. He should have said from the beginning, that he was unable to get you my experienced movers, but we can make this happen at a price they were worth rather than gauging and taking advantage of my older parents having to move right away. Absolutely do not recommend him. His experienced movers must have left the company.

Now, it's damaged, with torn fabric exposing the wood frame, and dirt marks all over it, yet it's still stuck in my old apartment. I'm devastated. Not only did they break my lamp, but they also tried to hide it. When I asked one of the movers if it was broken, he awkwardly held the two parts together as if it was still fine and just said, "Ugh, I don't know." I pointed out that it was clearly broken, and it was only damaged because they were carelessly throwing my stuff from the first floor to the second. They also lost the shelf brackets for my glass cabinet. I explicitly told them when they started moving it that the brackets would fall out. They took them out and now they're MIA. While I was told they'd buy new ones for me, I've since learned they're out of stock. It's just frustrating that they didn't take better care of my belongings. Despite clearly instructing them on where to place my furniture in my new place, they dumped everything in the living room. At one point, they even tried to push my TV up over their heads to the second floor, but thankfully one of the movers realized that wasn't safe and had them walk it up instead. I had an issue with one of the movers, but when I brought it up to the Assistant GM, he dismissed my concerns, insisting that the mover was an "upstanding" employee. I told him that wasn't my experience at all. The mover had been visibly annoyed the entire time, telling me it's stressful for me but even more stressful for them. I don't care--it's your job to handle this professionally! What upset me the most was the rude and passive-aggressive attitude I encountered throughout the process. I definitely won't be using their services again. I feel like my concerns were completely disregarded. When I asked for a receipt, one of the movers simply said, "I don't know," and shut the door in my face. He even snatched my debit card from my hand, and when I pointed it out, he dismissed my feelings by saying it was "pathetic" that I thought he snatched it. My partner witnessed the whole thing, and we were both taken aback by the lack of professionalism. I'm really upset about how I was treated today. I deserve better service, and so does everyone else.

My daughter recently moved her furniture to a storage unit after selling her house and looking to buy a new one. Since she is single, and I'm retired, she enlisted my help getting moved. I was the primary contact for all moving issues. We used a different company (not Clean Slate) to move from her old house TO the storage unit. They were "decent" but I felt a little used and abused by their add on charges after the fact. I started looking for a different mover when it was time to move from the storage unit to the new home. All communications were via text. Clean Slate did meet another movers price and since they had so many 5 star reviews, I decided to go with them. There was one problem, they showed up an hour late. I considered giving them 4 stars due to showing up late, but that issue was offset by the quality of the two young men that did our move. Both guys were respectful and took good care of our possessions. They worked non stop for 4 hours. They even let this old man talk their ears off! I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

We had to sign off saying all was ok, but a closer inspection after they left revealed that they hadn't been as careful as we thought. The pics below show nicks, scratches, scuffed leather, popped veneer, etc... Absolutely none of these were there before the move. No matter who you use, don't be rushed at the end. Look hard.

I checked after they left and the coupons were gone. Hired them again in 2022 to move into a one bedroom apartment in St Matthew's. When they got there they did not give enough time to direct them where I wanted things, they broke one of my lamps, and I lost a box with pictures and 3 small mini cameras. My last move, I used a moving organizer She used these guys. When we got to the new apartment, again I went into my bedroom and checked my two Chester drawers. Again, the drawers had clothes stuffed into drawers they did not belong in, a pair of jeans that should have been with the clothes in the walk in closet, and they spilled a large bowl of change I had in my Chester drawers. Don't use these guys. Untrustworthy and the owners / office are no help.

I did have a bill of lading from one of the big boy moving companies so he would have an idea of the size of the load. I was able to give him the weight of the load as well as the cubic feet of the load that the national moving company had in their truck. I did explain since i had been in Louisville I had purchased new washer and dryer, a new couch, a new chair and a new table and chairs for the kitchen. He walked the house and saw what I had which most of it was still boxed from my previous move in October of 2022. He stated that a 26-foot box truck would easily accommodate my household belongings. At first he quoted me an hourly rate of $50/hr for his people to pack and load then unload. Then he quoted me a hard number of $4,300 to pack, load a 26 foot truck, drive it to Indianapolis, unload and assemble items like beds, tables and such. I received another quote from a local mover which was a little lower but since Corey seemed more professional and seemed to know what he was doing I chose Alpha Moving. The three guys showed up pretty much when scheduled, one was a little late but we all got into packing the boxes I had saved from my previous move. I was working and packing as much as they were. I bought the three of them lunch and we got back at it. Afterwards I gave them all a $20 for their efforts. On the moving day they were supposed to return between 9 and 10 AM. Robert, one of the other owners, called me at about 9:20 to say that U-Haul did not give him any blankets and that he would need to return to the U-Haul store to get some. (My thought was, wouldn't you notice that before you leave the store and not while you are driving to my house? How does that happen? Did he stop for breakfast and look in the truck? Why didn't he notice when he was there?) Robert finally arrived after 10 AM and the guys started loading. As they got closer to the back of the truck there seemed to be more close conversations between them. They came to me and asked if I can take some items with me in my SUV which I reminded them that I had two large dogs that have been wandering around the house that I will be taking with me. Then they decided that they would place some items, as much as they could, into one of the employees cars. They finally came back to me and said that everything would not fit into the truck and they would either need to rent a trailer or they could have another employee drive his personal pick up (Ford Ranger) and fit as much as they could in that for another $300.00. I told them that I was ensured by Corey that everything would fit into a 26-foot box truck with ease. I told them that I work in an industry that when you give a price you live by it. Well Corey and Robert did not and were charging me the added $300 to get my belongings to my new house. Before we left they were sliding a glass tabletop to a desk into the truck and it shattered into over a million pieces. There was glass everywhere! It took them forever to sweep it out of the truck and on to the driveway and then pick it up off of the driveway using my broom and dustpan. We finally got all loaded and ready for our trek north at around 2 PM. I knew this had the makings of a very long day already. They offloaded the furniture first so I was able to direct where each piece was to go without issue. When they began offloading the boxes that was a different story. They had some boxes that were not labeled so they inevitably ended up in the wrong room. When they finally got everything unloaded we were all standing near the front door and I thanked them for their efforts. I gave them each a $20 again and told them I wish I could give them more but that I was still upset about being charged an extra $300 for Corey underestimating the size of the truck/equipment need to move my belongings and I was going to give each one of them a $50 bill but that they would need to see Corey for it. At that time Robert told me that it all most likely would have fit in this truck but he noticed early on that when they had started packing the front of the truck there were "pockets" and open spaces and the truck should have been packed better and "tighter" than it was. At this point one of the more seasoned employees turned around and walked out the door. I believe he was upset that Robert had just thrown him under the bus in front of a client. So we ended up settling on $300 for the cost of the glass tabletop but they charge an extra 3 or 4% if you use a credit card so they charged me $150 so my total bill was $4450.00 all in. As I have been unpacking I have noticed that one particular box is missing from my many boxes. I have texted Corey to see if either of the two Alpha employees have found the box in their vehicles but he has not responded at all in well over 72 hours which is very bad business.

I don't know where to start. We first used People Move Moving 4-5 years ago for a "down the street"…read moremove. Great experience. Movers were on time, professional, worked quickly but carefully. All of our belongings arrived safe and sound. Given our first experience, we didn't even bother quoting the move out to anyone else. We were in regular telephone communication with Daniel, their Sales and Operations Manager via phone. Red flag that we never received written follow up communication. We had a couple questions regarding heavy/large items which he assured us would be handled with the upmost care and professionalism. Specifically, a treadmill in the basement and a Big Green Egg. We were told the crew had "plenty of professional experience moving/disassembling both items". Upon arrival, the movers completed a once over of the house to develop a plan. Very quickly I was flat out told by one of the crew members that they were refusing to move the treadmill. We called Daniel and he assured us it would be handled appropriately and the tone/professionalism of his team would reflect that. It was not, in fact, handled appropriately. Fast forward to the end of the day, we required a small/quick second trip to and from for the last few items in the house. The movers were very reluctant to complete a second trip, even though that was communicated multiple times before and during the move. The business bills by the hour, so you would think this would be a somewhat common/reasonable request. I inquired about the treadmill once more and was told definitively and rudely "no" again. At this point, I had given up on receiving the help/assistance we were promised even though our invoice included "heavy item" charges. Those charges took approx. one week to be reimbursed. We are now in a dispute with PMM for reimbursement of the cost to hire a third party to move the treadmill (which I just received word from Daniel at 845am that "there is nothing we will do, it has been handled internally, please continue to follow up with our claims agency). Our move was completed on a Tuesday and I did not get around to checking the condition of the Big Green Egg until Thursday or Friday (my fault). Safe to say it's a loss. Photos attached. The professional movers obviously did not possess the requisite knowledge to move something this large and cumbersome. Over the last two weeks, I have tried reaching out to PMM via office phone, Daniel's cell phone, and email to resolve these issues and discuss potential partial refund for services not rendered. We were told this morning over the phone by Daniel that "we have fulfilled our part of the contract, there is nothing more we can do to help". Even after asking to speak to his superior, we were told "I am the highest person you are able to speak with regarding the matter". We are now at the mercy of PMM's claim agency, CSI. They have been fine to work with but it's unfortunate Daniel and his team are not able to provide any additional help/follow up to resolve this matter in a less contentious/way more professional manner. Would not recommend contracting PMM for your next move, and if you do, ensure all conversation with Daniel is documented via email. The lack of communication and tone over the phone (when they answer) has been unacceptable. My wife has filed a complaint with the BBB. Beware of the PMM team.

Still surprised there was really no plan B... not even another company they could recommend to me or schedule me with last minute. Putting aside that I had to scramble to find another moving company last minute, I've been calling them for 2 weeks trying to get a refund on my deposit and nobody ever answers. I've left multiple messages and nobody ever calls me back. Feels like a scam, I can't recommend this company at all. Avoid at all cost.
