WARNING!!! WARNING!!! Please consider what has happened to…read moremy family before doing business with DALTON BROWN RESTORATION! As some of you already know my family lost pretty much everything in a house fire on October 12th, 2023. Despite the heroic efforts of the many firefighters who battled the fire most of our belongings were destroyed and our house was badly damaged - but luckily we all got out safe. The fire left us pretty much homeless living in our camper with our 2 special needs children. After receiving payment from insurance to rebuild we made the regretful decision to enter a contract with DALTON BROWN RESTORATION to put our house back together "the way it was" for an agreed upon amount with a completion date of August 2024. Fast forward to October 2024 and he tells us he needs another 50K to do the work he had already entered into a contract to do for the agreed upon price which we had already paid him. Well at this point hardly anything has been done - all we had were walls and drywall and roughed in utilities (that come to find out the contractors hadn't even been paid for doing). We have no bathrooms, no kitchen, no running water or working electric, no floors - literally maybe 15% of the job is done and that's being generous. So please beware doing any business with this company as my experience with them has almost been worse than the fire itself. The fire was a freak accident that could have happened to anybody but what Dalton Brown and his brother Joe did to us was intentional and unethical. Both of these men shook my hand and looked me and my children in our eyes and told us not to worry they would put our house back together but yet here we are December 2024 nowhere close to being back in our home thanks to them. I guess my kids get to spend Christmas in this camper again. Thanks Dalton. Thanks Joe. I hope you enjoyed spending the money we gave you to rebuild our home. It sucks they did this period but to do this to our kids is completely unforgivable. I could use lots of choice words and call him lots of names (which he would deserve every one) but I'm going to keep this to the facts so that fb has no reason to remove it. I really wish someone had warned us before we fell victim to them and hopefully this post makes sure they don't victimize anyone else.

I called Superior and the owner David Swindler was at my house within 30 minutes. He discovered that my refrigerator water line was leaking and replaced it with all new lines and valves. He concluded after inspection that the roof would need to be replaced, and helped walk us through the process we would be obliged to go through vis a vis our homeowner's insurance. This was just before Thanksgiving 2018. David said he would be in contact with us the weekend after Thanksgiving about putting a tarp over the damaged section of our chimney. That time came and went with no word from him, and we chalked it up to the holiday. Two weeks went by and we finally contacted him to ask what was up. He said he had been ill and would be contacting us later that week. That week came and went. We contacted him yet again and he claimed he was very behind due to his illness and offered to come over on Saturday 12/15/18 to go through the insurance with us. He said he'd be there at 3:30. I sat on my front porch from 3:10pm until 4:00pm waiting for him, and he never showed, never called, nothing. My wife left him a message saying we were terminating his services (such as they were) and to date (12/20/18) we still have not heard from him, not even so much as an apology. It is very dismaying, because David seemed to be competent, knowledgeable and very good at explaining things to laypeople, and we were looking forward to working with him. But this kind of inconsiderate behavior is simply unacceptable and unprofessional, especially when I still have a HOLE IN MY CHIMNEY. I will never use this company for anything again and urge you not to either.

In addition there are multiple challenging areas for flashing as well as simple the age of the structure. My insurance company gave a list of roofing companies and I decided to try Paul Davis as my insurance company assured me if I didn't like them I could use whoever I wanted. Paul Davis employees were clear in what they said, on time and on price. At no point in this multiple week process from estimate to finished roof was I surprised in any way. Their roof manager that came out was friendly, efficient and pointed out what upgrades he would recommend when I asked him about upgrades, he was great. He followed up during and after the roof was done and resolved some questions and concerns I had about products they were installing and how. The work crew sent out to do my roof were fantastic, polite, efficient and did everything they could to minimize their impact on our lives while tearing off and replacing a huge roof. They were GREAT at cleaning up after themselves which is a big plus. I would strongly recommend Paul Davis to anyone that wants the job done right the first time and doesn't want to deal with constantly having guys come back out to fix mistakes.

That's just stuck to the brick and they did nothing about it. We still have big black streaks on the boards in the basement like the actual floorboards that hold the first story of the house up they're all stained and crappy. Also, these people tried to take advantage of us on the contents of the house, charging a huge price for things that we didn't even want restored. They were terrible at communication and everything they say is going to take three or four times as long. They literally failed our HVAC inspection three separate times before they finally passed and that's how they do the entire job. It's the absolute bare minimum with the crappies contractor that they could possibly afford to do the work on their behalf.
