The burgers were pretty good. The chicken leaves much to be desired though. The service was ok nothing exciting to write about.

This is a "go to"location to pick up this classic Butte pork chop sandwich for carry out, but I'll also go to the Freeway Tavern for the same as a sit down meal restaurant. This sandwich was noted on YouTube as the classic Butte sandwich, with creation long ago, and still it's the "go to" sandwich in Butte!

I have had the pork chop sandwiches at other Butte, Montana locations, but it never worked out to try the original until now. I was SO excited!! This location is in the Uptown area. Very convenient for us, as we were only staying a couple blocks away. There is an exterior order/pickup window, and very limited stool/counter sitting inside. (About 10 stools, I think.) I really wanted the full experience, so we went inside and took a seat. There were only two other customers sitting at the counter. The gentleman inside grabbed an order pad and a pen and walked up to us. We said hi. He said hi. We waited for him to adk for our order, but he just kept doodling, so we finally told him what we wanted: two pork chop sandwiches, one order of fries, and one large milkshake. A few minutes later he returned with two sandwiches and sort of tossed them at us. About 4-5 minutes later, he tossed a paper bag of fries in our direction. Then he stood in front of us, with his back to us, and made a milkshake for a customer that came in after us. Then he mixed up ranch dressing and started filling cups with the dressing. Also with his back to us. (We sat directly in front of the milkshake machine.) He did not acknowledge us again. We did not receive our milkshake. When we got up to leave, I thought he might turn around and give us our bill, but he continued to ignore us. Would not even turn around. So I walked down the counter to where the cash register was located, thinking he might come and take our money then. Nope. He would not even turn around. There was a guy standing just to the side of us on the other side of the counter. He was cooking the food. He sort of ignored us for a couple of minutes as well, but he was really busy, so I understood why he didn't have time for us. He finally did ask us what we had, and I told him "two pork chop sandwiches and one order of fries. And a large milkshake, but we never got that." He replied, "Ok. $15.75" and that was it. No surprise, apology, explanation, nothing. Sort of seemed like he was used to it. I regret it now, but I gave him a $20 and walked out. That was too much of a tip for what was possibly the rudest, worst service we have ever received. I will never go back to this place. It was incredibly disappointing. The best pork chop sandwich is just down the road at Freeways Tavern. I will be going there for my pork sandwich fix from now on. Oh.... I better talk about the food. The service was so bad, I forgot. The breaded pork patty is very thin. But it is tender and good. The sandwich itself was decent size. It came with mustard, onion, pickle, lettuce, and tomato - as a pork chop sandwich should. The fries were crispy. Everything was very hot. There are better pork chop sandwiches in Butte. But this is the original, so every other one is a copy of this one. Too bad the horrible, rude service will keep us away.

Walking in on a Monday and after fresh snowfall there was not many people in there. We were seated right away. The cool thing is they have 2 trackman bays for golf during the winter weather. The waitress said you can do an hour for $25/ 2 people. You do have to call the l pro shop to book a reservation. After looking over the menu, so many options, we decided to start with apps. Huckleberry pork spring rolls and bruschetta with naan bread. The spring rolls were good but would have like more of the huckleberry sauce on it. Or having the huckleberry sauce as the dipping. The bruschetta was good, it was a little on the Spicy side due to excessive amounts of garlic. It was also a little different having it on naan bread then having it on a Cristini. I finally decided on the buffalo chicken Mac & Cheese. My co workers had Huckleberry stuffed pork chop with a side of asparagus, and Bourbon steak sandwich, with a side of macaroni and cheese. I can't speak for them but my Mac & cheese was good. Great flavor with chicken, buffalo sauce, bacon and blue cheese crumble. Never would've thought to put this on the mac & cheese but it was great. Only negative thing I have to say about this was when my coworker got a refill on his tea and was stirring in his sugar there was flakes of something in the bottom of the glass. Other then that it was all good.

I travel a lot for work, and I've eaten out so much that I really don't enjoy it (only because I hate eating out without my family) whether I spend $5 or $50. I ordered a few things - a couple tacos, a burrito, and chips and cheese. The taco's were the most bland and flavorless tacos I've ever tried. The shells had a stale musty taste, and no flavor. The meat didn't seem flavored, and the chicken was not really a shredded consistency but a wet soggy mess. The burrito was just plain not good. And the chips and cheese were a handful of chips in a paper boat-dish with a bit of really low quality cheese sprinkled on and then microwaved till the cheese is hard and the chips are soggy - and all of it fused to the paper dish. I didn't eat much of it at all and that's a shame, because it's expensive for what it is. There are much better options either sit-down restaurants or fast food that will save you a few bucks and not leave you wondering if that was supposed to be Mexican food or just a really, really bad joke. Since it's a local place, I'd love to say it's good - but it's a big no from me, both for my wallet and my palate.
