Pulled in and sat for a while waiting for someone to wait on us but all the girls were too busy standing around talking to the lady behind the counter. Nobody ever did come out to take our order so we left. Awful service. read more

One of the very few A&W drive in restaurants, still left around - equipped with carhops and root beer just like my childhood. I know that root beer is an acquired taste, but IMA root beer girly and A&W in my opinion makes the #1 root beer ever! A&W root beer is so creamy with a hint of vanilla, and nothing compares to having fruit beer at one of the restaurants. My friend and I were in the area and saw this was nearby so decided to stop for lunch. We decided we wanted to eat outside of the car because they did have a few picnic tables and you can even eat inside. We went inside to order but much to our surprise. We were told to go ahead and have a seat at a picnic table outside and our server came out shortly after. We wanted everything on the menu! I ordered a root beer float, onion, rings, chili dogs (not pictured). My friend ordered the corn dog nuggets and fried cheese curds everything was so delicious. The root beer float was perfect, so creamy! The ice cream was absolutely delicious. The chili cheese dogs had the perfect thick layer of chili and the hotdog had a perfect snack! The onion rings were perfect - my only comment is the ranch was not great. The cheese curds were divine! I love a good cheese curd. I did not have any of the corn dog nuggets, but my friend really enjoyed them. We had excellent service and it was just a fun experience and super nostalgic. I will definitely stop again next time I'm in the area . read more

This is, hands down, bar none, my favorite food in the whole world. I would order this as my last meal if I were being executed, no joke. I moved out to Arizona 7 years ago and this is the food I miss the most. The service is always great, the food isn't for everyone, but for people who like it, it's the best. This is a locally owned old-school throwback joint, as one would expect. They still have the car hops. You can eat inside tough if you like. They run specials on Tuesdays for coney dogs. I have been there many times with the family. We all love it. It is not they they have the best food or the best accommodations, because they don't. What they have is classic, iconic and consistent food and service. They do ice cream and still have the homemade Root beer. My only issue is that they close in the winter. I am not sure why since they have an indoor seating area. But I recon even the owners need to hibernate. read more

The food is mediocre. Fries look like they came from a bag and it looks like they just melt a piece of crappy cheese on the fries for cheese fries. Burger and grilled cheese were also meh. Usually the homemade root beer is awesome at a&w's but whoever mixed this one was going cheap in the ingredients in my opinion, didn't taste that great. The only thing was the boyfriend said the chocolate shake was the best. Won't be returning again. The roof in the bathroom looks like it is going to fall on your head soon and was dripping water on me. They had cleaning solution and spray practically touching food and close to cups which isn't allowed. Also one of the employees was eating her food on the counter where food was setting. Gross... I went to this place as a kid and I will continue to go here... They aren't open yet because they close during the winter months, but I can't wait to eat A&W again. Sometimes the service isn't great because they are sometimes really busy however they always are smiling. My first time there was last year. Hubby and I brought the kids in and sat at a table to eat. The waitress was very pleasant and thorough. Our food arrived and everything was correct, hot and delicious... until I found a long strand of hair in my fries. I showed the waitress and even pointed out that it was not my color hair and she promptly apologized and got me a new fry, but I have yet to go back. REALLY!? Aren't cooks supposed to wear hair nets? I just can't go back to a place for such a faux pas. At the time they were cash only, but I hear they take credit cards now, which is really good. The owner of this place is a complete tool. He is always condescending; today he refused to let a customer bring a bicycle inside because he "didn't want a scratch on the wall." The walls are literally unpainted plywood. The restaurant was practically empty and you could see that this patron uses his bicycle as his primary transportation. Same owner refuses to put a "treat" in the kids' meal, although th menu specifically mentions one. The so-called "treat" is a tiny serving of ice cream that you only get if you ASK for it. Heaven forbid you order carry out and don't see the missing treat till you get home. read more

Besides the good food and romantic connections to the drive-in memories of our youth, we enjoy getting to know the waitresses who are always smiling.
