Got my order wrong and I didn't notice until I pulled away from the drive through. It was very hot and the line was long so I didn't want to wait again. So I sucked it up. I called later to inform them and the girl who answered could care less. She giggled a little and said sorry about that then did not say another word. It's like she set the phone down and walked away. I kept saying hello but she did not answer. Total lack of customer service. Every other time I've been there, it's been great. I've left great reviews before. But this girl should not be in charge of customer service. read more

Went thru drive thru unaware that they closed in a few minutes ordered a double cheeseburger and a fish sandwich then after paying I noticed they turned the open sign to close I thought oh no I'm not that guy to come in at the last minute. Interesting all in all. Double cheeseburger meal was ok. A little expensive, but everything has gone up. It seems money over comfort. Booths are covering every square inch. Years ago, they had a fireplace, which did not bring in money. We even overheard one customer commenting to others, that their booth seemed cramped. Which seemed to be the norm for the most part. Service was good. Did not know they started using trays at the drive up again. Years ago we went there, they handed the bag through the car window and walked away. It seems you need to inspect each booth, to make sure it is not cramped, no matter your size. Not a bad place, just seems to be overcramped for space....7-2-2026 response from manager, "we will look into it". In reality whoever made the decision to renovate should have thought of customers. We were having lunch in a crowded tight fitting booth, when another customer noticed other people in crowded / tight booth, and mentioned to them," They should look for one that is not so tight, and uncomfortable" So, in the long run owner does not really care about customers. I'm personally a big fan of the coney island chili cheese dogs, however they put onions on my coney island chili cheese dog after I specifically requested no onions. They don't have the right to do that not knowing whether or not I'm allergic. I'm not however, it's the thought that counts. I could have died because someone was lazy and didn't follow simple instructions. They also forgot to put to put cheese on it even after I reminded them to. Those knuckle dragging blubbery baffoons need to do better. I don't want someone suffering from there mistakes. That's what's wrong with this world. People like them slacking off cause they're stressed. Yes, I understand they may be stressed, if you can't handle stress then I would recommend you don't work customer service. 1 star. read more

I love the food here, but on some nights the interior is really dirty. I always order in the drive through or the stalls instead. The service is fun too, feels authentic to an old drive in. Service was friendly, but I didn't get anything on my order except for the root beer float. By the time I looked in my bag that was stapled closed. I was home and was not going to drive back or call. The burger that I got, I could not eat Because I am allergic to mushrooms and it was a mushroom Swiss burger. A waste of money and I will most likely not return. read more

Their service is fast and friendly, the food is hot and fresh (OMG - try the chicken tenders and their onion rings!) their prices are very reasonable compared to a lot of other places, and they're ice cold frosty mugs of root beer are amazing! on Fridays, they have an all you can eat shrimp dinner that includes perfectly cooked, breaded fried shrimp (seriously! They are not over cooked and rubberized like so many places), french fries, soup or salad (usually clam chowder), and a piece of toast. I think the price is $12.99. I'm glad they're not located in a more convenient place like the Dairy Queen, because they would be slammed and hard to get into! I have been going to A&W for more decades than I care to admit to. It is the classic "always been around" fast food restaurant. I was given a small A&W mug for each of my kids when they were born - and still have them. There's just something special about going to a place where you know what you want, it's always available and always good. The owner are fantastic! read more

Hadn't been to an A&W since I was a wee little kid (and meat eater). 25 years later and vegetarian me had luckily eaten a few hours earlier, so I wasn't disappointed about their severe lack of vegetarian offerings. But I ordered fries and onion rings, and they were just average. I also got a pineapple shake, which was rather tasty. My hubby gobbled up his bacon cheeseburger and said it was good. 4 stars because of it's retro vibe and excellent staff. It took us awhile to figure out where/how to order (a phone on the table!) and when/how to pay (at the front counter). Overall, it's a great place to bring kids, as the menu is pretty cheap and it has a cool vibe. read more

We waited in the drive thru for about 8 minutes at the speaker. No one said anything. We pulled up to the window thinking maybe the speaker was broken. The two women just stood there looking at us and did not come to the window to greet us. So much for customer service. read more

Used to really love this location. Now as nice as it is, prices are far too steep for such small portions of food. Also not really sure when chili dogs stopped coming with cheese without an additional price, they are the only place that does this. Out side the price and portions, presentation has hone massively downhill. I got a fish and chips dinner the other day, if you could call that small square of mostly bread fish, and it was all just tossed around in the box everywhere. I will probably just hit Albany Burgerville from now on, more gas but worth it. read more
