I ordered a large fries at the five guys at Park Royal and the five guys at Robson Street and they didn't even take the time to let the grease drain off the fries. I just realized the trick about Five Guys. If you want your burger to be tasty, you have to keep it simple. Simple means just patty, mayo and lettuce. Once you start adding more stuff it takes away from the taste. Not sure why that is. Their burger is quite greasy. Not my fav but it is close by to where I live. Fries are usually a meh but they are a bit better if you take them home and airfry them. Service is ok. The place is always super busy but that is because it is now considered at the cheaper end of burgers since everything else has gone up in price. read more

A kitchen staff and manager here find that a woman in pain and distress is humorous. Beware of improper cleaning practice at this establishment. Take caution when using their restroom facilities. Yesterday, after eating at Five Guys on Robson. I left injured, in shock and distressed. After using the restroom I stepped out of the stall onto a floor that had a very slippery thick layer on soap. My leg flew out from under me and slid across the restroom. I fell fast and hard. Hitting my knee on the way down. Landing on my right side, and elbow. When I got up I almost slipped again. The floor was extremely slippery and felt like there was a thick layer of soap. It looked like the floor was recently mopped, but there was no caution sign. Shaking, in shock and pain I let one of the managers know what happened. He apologized and asked what I'd like him to do about it. Meanwhile, one of the other staff members started laughing about it. Which triggered emotional distress. The whole time I was thinking, shouldn't he be assessing the situation and the restroom floor? Taking an incident report? Instead, he joined her and laughed about it. I was being blown off like my pain and the incident didn't matter. I was sent into emotional distress, shaking, in shock and in pain. Pain that started in my right side, knee and elbow has since radiated to my lower and upper back. My arm, wrist and neck is also affected from the fall. I'm still in shock and disbelief at how disgustingly I was treated. Blown off and laughed at after sustaining injuries in this establishment due to their improper cleaning practices. Take your own caution when visiting this location, cause they won't. I'm appalled at their negligence, lack of empathy and disregard for their customers. read more

I went here for a lunch with my friend on Tuesday. Haven't gone here for ages so I ordered wrong items. I ordered Bacon Burger ($10.99), Cajun fries ($4.99) with regular drink ($3.09). Bacon burger was huge. Just as big as Burger King Whopper! It came with 2 patties, bacon and other toppings. I regret not getting Little Burger or Little Bacon Burger from the menu. Fries were crispy. It was my first time having a crispy one from Five Guys. There were lots of fries I couldn't finish it. However cajun seasoning was TOO much. It was too salty I could only taste fries nothing else. Peanuts were also salty. Ideal for beer snack I'd say! I took leftover peanuts home. My mom found it salty too, but she liked it. My bill was about $20 for everything. I'll have to order little burger instead of regular ones. I didn't like the saltiness of the fries. It was too overpowering that I felt quite thirsty. read more

Five Guys makes a mean burger and grilled cheese. I love that you can choose your own toppings, which they provide all the classics (onion, tomatoes, mushrooms, mayo, ketchup, pickles, etc....)The patties are fresh and hand formed. Fries are hot, fresh and crispy and the amount is huge. There is a descent amount of seating that is social distancing approved. All staff are wearing masks. The only downside was there is no wifi. This place makes a very good burger. I thought it was kinda pricey at first, because it was $10 for just the burger but they really make a good bacon cheddar burger. From what I heard, they used canned mushrooms so you might want to leave that out and I had it with fresh onions, not the cooked ones. But this was an excellent burger and although quite pricey, it was worth it. I came to this location during the stupid pandemic, so I will say that despite this it was worth stopping by. I can't comment on a dine in experience but they took my order and told me it would be about seven to ten minutes to make my burger. But really good. Very good. read more

This is my no. 1 fast food. I feel like a lot of people underestimates this place. The burger here is so juicy and tender, the hotdog is freshly made, the bacon with both the hotdog and the burger is so crispy you'll wanna eat it by itself. They serve large portion of fries as well, AND they offer unlimited peanuts as well. The seats here always get so full but lucky enough every time I go here, there's that one spot that is free. Very good burger. Had a double with cheese, onions, maio. Spicy fries not the best. Burger is hard to eat since it falls apart, be sure to get plenty of napkins. Spicy fries were ok, but not crispy. Kinda soggy. They also give your order on a paper bag and it seems a delivery order: everything inside shaken, fries everywhere, spices around my burger paper wrap. One of the more decent premium burger places in town. So nice that one no longer has to hit the North Shore for one of these things. Parking here is horrendous, as the establishment is on Robson. Being a chain, the place looks much like the other locations, with their trademark red and white tiled wall. Of course, there's also their AYCE peanut buffet. With that said, the interior was pretty dirty. Tables were sticky, and there was trash on the tables. The burgers are definitely worth a trip out. No need to go all fancy - a regular hamburger with "everything" (toppings) should satisfy most people. Slap on a small order of fries on the side and you're good to go. The large fries here probably contain 2-3 full potatoes, and are best shared among 2-4 people. The washroom is extremely small. Not sure who designed the layout, but one can literally wash one's hands while sitting on the toilet. Knock 0.5 stars off for this. read more

I can't help but compare it with the one down in Bellingham, our usual first stop before hitting the mall. The concept is pretty well identical - a clean, simple decor using just red and white. Sacks of peanuts are "decorated" near the entrance to give you that "local" look. Speaking of local, they inform customers where they get their potatoes for the fries. It usually is a local farm. The star is, of course, the burger. They have regular and large versions. I usually get full enough with the regular one, which they call "small". They taste good but not juicy enough (although last time mine down in Bellingham was too juicy, making the bun too wet to hold.) Fries are great, and when not busy the staff circulate while cleaning and greet customers. All in all, a good experience. read more

This Five Guys is not like other Five Guys. I challenge anyone to get a burger here, and then go over the Lionsgate to Park Royal and get the same burger there. It is a world of difference, and the moral of the story is to season your food. Food 1/5 -- The fries are pretty damn good, and the burgers aren't bad. However, the fact that there isn't a lick of seasoning on the burger kinda ruins the quality. No salt, whatsoever. Weird. Atmosphere 0/5 -- First zero I've ever given. Messy, crowded, oppressive lighting. Hell its even messy when they're close to closing, but there are still 6-8 staff on shift. ‍ Cleanliness 3/5 -- The messiness overlaps from atmosphere to here, but peaking over the counter at the grill and food prep areas, they are quite well maintained. Credit where credit is due. Service 2/5 -- Mixed opinion. Sometimes they come off as rude, or like they don't want your business. Other times they're fine. Overall 1.5/5 -- They're almost there on the food, but really the lack of seasoning is totally perplexing to me. This is day one shit. Why don't they sprinkle a bit of salt on the patty while it's being grilled? They got the salt on the fries right... but the patty just tastes like a pile of untapped potential. Shame. read more

My eldest kid has been raving about this burger chain for the longest time, so she was on Cloud Nine when we passed this Five Guys here in Vancouver, the city we just moved to! Listening to her speak, this restaurant's foods are the next best thing since sliced bread. So one hot summer afternoon, as the family and I were exploring downtown in our new 'hood, and the family was complaining about being "starving" (as usual!), we decided to give this place a try. Seriously, I don't get the hype. Both kids and the hubby ordered burgers (the restaurant's specialty, right?), and I, a veggie sandwich. My eldest kid loved her burger but my other kid and my husband thought their burgers were mediocre at best (and my husband LOVES burgers and usually thinks they're all pretty great). As for my veggie sandwich, it was not good: the grilled onions were oily, they used lettuce and tomato slices that are usually reserved for their burgers, and the worst part was the mushrooms. There were tons of mushrooms. And they were all from a can. You can tell from their uniform size and the tell-tell tinny aftertaste. Not impressed. Nothing special. The fries are always perfect, hot out of the fryer. The hamburgers are good and the people who work there seem to like working there and all seem to like each other. I first went to the location in North Vancouver and have always meant to go here on my lunch hour. However, I've walked past a few times and the line was just to long and I know when busy there are not the speediest place around. Also I feel when it comes to Five Guys if you know what you're getting into then you'll enjoy it more. Or avoid them. Your preference. It's a greasy burger joint but the advantage is it actually tastes like meat instead of whatever McDonalds is serving people these days. It just seems like a real burger and I do not agree with the "fast food" label. That being said they still have sizeable portions, such as the regular burgers are 2 patties and even if you order the Tiny size of fries I found there to be more than I needed. I've been to a few Five Guys establishments across North America and I honestly have to say that I'm not a fan. I do love how there is a myriad of toppings for you to add on but by the time you're done selecting, you end up spending nearly $12 on your burger, pop and fries! I understand that this is a fast food establishment so efficiency is the key, but I can get much better burgers at several restaurants in Vancouver! First of all, I would rather spend my $10-$12 at Japadog, where I can get a delicious Japanese hotdog and amazing fries in various flavours. Five Guy's fries are just plain and greasy, so they do not appeal to me at all. Actually if I had $12 to spend, I could get four burgers at Hamburger 2.85, which are far more tasty than the ones you can get at Five Guys! Second of all, I would much rather go to a sit-down restaurant for a burger since there are a plethora of great restaurants in Vancouver that serve amazing burgers! There are also tons of lunch specials to take advantage of in the downtown area, such as Black+Blue's Friday $11 Burger+Fries+Beer special! I finally got around to trying this famous fast food and burger joint from the American Mideast at their newest Robson location downtown. The basic menu, red/white decor, and American feel reminded me heavily of the popular (and frankly, overrated) In-N-Out Burger franchise also from the States. I ordered the cheeseburger with raw onions, ketchup, mustard, jalapeños, and barbecue sauce. FYI, a "burger" comes with two patties and a "little burger" is a single patty. My favourite part is choosing all the random toppings and sauces from their menu. I tried it with bacon before and preferred the gooey cheese slices. I also had a side of cajun style fries. Don't ever order any size fries bigger than the small. It may come in a small cup, but they pour a bunch more into your bag. I wasn't really a fan of the cajun seasoning, but the fries were crisp and tasty. I really enjoyed Five Guys. Their made to order burgers are clean and fairly delicious. I've been back a couple times since my first visit. Honestly, I stick to getting just a cheeseburger as a filling and satisfying enough lunch. I, personally, like it better than In-N-Out, but I've only been there once in Las Vegas. read more
