I finally tried this place today after listening to so many people talk really highly about this location! Overall I really enjoyed it - fries were AMAZING. It's super fresh and perfectly seasoned. For the burger - it was good but honestly was really disappointed in the patty as it was super bland. We also asked for BBQ sauce but, I think they forgot that for both the burgers. However, the sautéed onions and mushrooms accompanied by the other vegis in the burger was really good. I would go again but, make sure there is other sauce as I found it a bit bland. Food was tasty, texture was good, and ingredients are fresh. Pretty fast and clean. Staff regularly sweep the floors. Their are free peanuts so if you are allergic, DO NOT go. They have signs that ask customers to not bring peanuts out of the store as the neighbourhood may have children and people that are allergic to them, but some still do. Please don't be one of them :) Definitely pricier for fast foods but worth it from time to time. Their large fries are more like GIANT fries. Hey, not complaining but just saying haha! The food wasn't bad. Didn't try any of the burgers, and I wish they had a better vegetarian option than the "veggie sandwich" - it's a bun full of veggies, basically a burger without the burger. 2.5/5 I got the veggie cheese sandwich ($4.25 I think). I got it without mushrooms and green peppers, but I added jalapeños and mayo. I ended up taking the tomatoes out. Aside from the sauce and grilled onions, there wasn't anything amazing about it. I also got Cajun fries ($3.69 for the small). Although the actual container it comes in is really small, they put SO many fries. It was good and well seasoned. I also got a regular sized drink, so whole bill came to $10ish. Is this the best burger you will ever have? No. But they are very good for the price. They are a lot better than most fast food joints. I was glad to learn one was opening in Port Coquitlam as I had tried Five Guys a number of times in the states. At this location, expect long lines and waits for your food during peak dinner hours on Friday/Saturday & Sunday; at least while people are still discovering this place. The burgers are why you come here. You can customize the toppings as you choose. Go All the Way ;) They are loaded, big, messy and good. A regular burger is two patties while a little burger is one pattie. They are anything but little. The fries are good as well, but a little greasy for my taste. Even a small fries is good for two people. They always add another scoop of fries into your bag. If you can finish a regular bacon cheeseburger and large fries, you will need to be carried out on a stretcher. read more

My favourite burger chain. I always get a little bacon cheeseburger and try different toppings. The Cajun fries are the best ever and the hot dogs are really good as well. The milkshakes are nothing special in my opinion and not worth the price. I came here on a Friday afternoon during a lunch rush and the cashier Loveleen was very friendly and patient with everyone. On top of that, the kitchen staff was clearly well organized because they were fast and efficient. Great experience and great food! read more

Super casual, all of the regular 50's drive in fare without the car :) Good for families and first dates. I started working here two months ago and felt the work environment was quite unfriendly. As majority of the staff have same cultural background, I felt I was treated inferiorly. One of the major reason why i stopped working there was because of my shift leader. This was my first job and it requires time for anyone to ace a particular task. But as I was slow in the beginning, he would always humiliate me in front of other workers and disrespect me and pass offensive comments. I received food borne illness from food here and when I called to let them know they didn't take my complaint seriously and hung up the phone. This is extremely poorly managed. The quality is fine but there is obviously bad food handling and no mind to proper food safety temperatures and such. I won't be going here again and the fact I wasn't offered a refund is grounds for not going to a Five Guys ever again. I wasn't even upset, things happen - but the way my case was handled was ridiculous and very uncalled for. These are complaints that should be taken very seriously. After I started feeling sick I threw away the rest of my food and realized I'd spent sixteen dollars on soggy fries, a hot dog with a piece of processed cheese on it, and a fountain drink. The burgers are well done and greasy. Guess what? That's the whole point. They have the same flavour of a country fair. The toppings are piled in as requested. The fries are just loaded up. A regular is big enough for two people. If you're eating in, don't waste money on a large drink as all refills are free. read more

Honestly it is exactly the meal you would expect from a carnival. Super expensive for what you get (except the fries you get a generous amount) and food is greasy and tasteless. Service is not great you get greeted make your order and then when you sit to eat, a guy constantly sweeps around you. Free peanuts is the reason someone is constantly sweeping but it made me wish the peanuts didn't exist. My husband had a cheese burger and fries and he enjoyed it but he didn't get the hype about the place. I had the veggie cheese sandwich...the cheese was processed and not melted...it was very tasteless. The fries were good but yet dissapointed me as they were not seasoned (not even salt) and I felt over cooked. Both my my kids ordered hot dogs and after one bite wouldn't eat them (my kids love hot dogs and have never turn one down anywhere before). HORRIBLE! I would give NO stars if I could. My husband had a hot dog. I had the veggie sandwich with cheese. We shared the cajun fries. The fries were underdone. The "cheese" in my sandwich appeared to be cheese whiz or something along those lines. The sandwich was supposed to consist of tomato, lettuce, grilled onions, mushrooms and green peppers. They asked if I wanted any condiments so I asked for Mayo (this apparently meant a DISGUSTING amount of mayo.) The dirtiest place I've ever been in. A service station bathroom is cleaner than this pig pen. The floor has never been washed and I'm sure nothing was cleaned of a table or floor all day. Food was marginal. Don't understand how people can actually love this place? Had a bacon burger and fries, would have rather eaten somewhere like A&W. Staff consistently yelled orders at each other making the entire experience unenjoyable. They seem to do a brisk business for "skip the dishes" so even when the restaurant is empty it seems to take to long to get your food. Floor was filthy as they just wipe the table tops onto the ground, gross! Garbage can at front door was overflowing when we arrived (it did get emptied during our visit). I'd give Five guys an extra half star if I could - but can't rate a burger joint - any burger joint with 4 or more stars. In comparison, I'd rate most fast food fare as two star or less - Five Guys is damn good. Love those burgers and the 'extra' scoop of fries in the bag. Burgers are delicious and gooey - probably best eaten fresh, I don't think they'll hold up well with take out. Pick your own toppings - I recommend ordering your burger 'all the way'. The 'Little' Cheeseburger should take care of most appetites - order the Cheeseburger if you're hungry or just ambitious. Those with allergies beware - peanuts abound! read more

Five Guys was one of my fave burger joints when I lived in Toronto. So I was so happy when I found out there was one near my new neighbourhood! The one in PoCo is tucked into a food plaza in Fremont Village. Inside is just like the other Five Guys I've been to where you walk in past boxes of Virginia peanuts and/or Idaho potatoes. The shelled nuts are nicely boiled and roasted, and free for anyone to munch on while waiting for the burgers. The shells do tend to end up on the floor but I look at it as resto character (like those BBQ houses that spread hay on the floor.) The burgers are not cheap and will require several hours in the pool to work it out of my system. But still worth it! I normally order the Bacon Cheeseburger (2 patties!) with free toppings: grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, lettuce, ketchup and mustard. (If you want smaller offerings, try the "Little" version which is only 1 patty.) The burger is always pefectly grilled well on a flat top but still so juicy and full of flavour. The additional toppings add sweet and sour notes and texture to the burger. The American cheese is properly melted all over the ingredients which seals the flavours into the burger until I release them with my first bite. If that's not enough, I also get their cajun fries where the fries are double fried (very crispy) and smothered in spicy Cajun seasoning. They normally throw in extra fries so one order of Regular fries are good for 2-3 people. (Minor complaint...the last time I was here, the fries tasted burnt eventhough the fries were not overly brown. The oil may need to be changed.) If I feel like living on the edge, this is one of the places I go to to play with my destiny! read more

Great new burger joint far superior quality than your average fast food joint. Started with an employee politely greeting us and opening the door for us. We then ordered our burgers and had a huge variety of toppings for it. Kitchen is open for all custormers to see the cooks, area was very clean. Staff were all very friendly and seemed to be happy working there. Ordered the food to go and it was still hot on the 10 min drive home. The burgers were delicious and the cajun fries were good too. My family all thoroughly enjoyed the burgers and will be going back again when we crave a tasty burger. YUM! read more

Have been a big fan of 5 Guys for a long time. Finally...this location opened up and its just a hop, skip and jump from home. came for a burger with my friend as we wanted a casual place to sit down and plan a party. This is kind of like subway but with burgers instead of sandwiches. Burger is on the pricier side and doesn't come with fries, however burger was quite large and very tasty. Fries were good too. A bit of a confusion at the cash register and my friend and I wanted to split the bill (we were sharing the fries) and the cashier couldn't figure out how to do it. I told him what half the total was and he then managed to ring it through with his coworker's help. The cashier then offered cups for water which I thought was a nice touch.
