I'm from California and let me tell you, this is the closest thing in the GTA to an In-N-Out dupe. Buns, patties, sauce, and everything. I had Fresh Burger a while back and forgot the name (so glad it came back to me), but remembered just how good it was and how it immediately reminded me of my favorite burger chain back home. Fries aren't comparable because like most places, they're frozen (still good tho) but that was a damn good burger. Can't rate the service or ambiance because I had this via delivery but even after it sat for a bit the bun remained soft and the patties were so juicy yet crisp on the outside! I've literally only had this once but I think about it pretty often, lol. I'll probably stop by soon to upload photos. Okay burger place and it's just very ordinary. Aside from its location being convenient to me, the taste, size, and ingredients all just do not justify the price. The servers are nice and friendly. Last time I went to fresh burger I waited over 30 mins for my #1 combo. Was not impressed since I've only got a half hour for lunch. The kind lady gave me a free combo 1 card to apologize for the wait. Next time I went in I tried to use said card and they denied me because she did not sign and fill out location on back of card. I didn't put up much of a fight, and decided to order anyhow because I was hungry. Then proceeded to wait another 25 mins for my order. When I'm in the mood for treating my body right with a proper, non-fast food burger, this place is THE spot. The fries are like if swiss chalet made their fries properly. Crispy on the outside but soft and tender on the outside. It's been awhile since I've come back but the interior of the resto has been SUPER renovated since the last time I walked in. The furniture looks way sexier, the kitchen still immaculate and clean, A LOT more seating now. The double freshburger is still my go-to off the menu. I haven't tried the cali fries yet but the poutine is very hit or miss depending on who makes your poutine. The first time I ordered it, I got piping hot gravy and an abundant amount of cheese curds. The 2nd time though I was kinda sad because my gravy was cold and there were like 4 cheese curds on my fries. So yea, after that experience I told myself I would just stick to regular fries here. My favourite Smash Burger in all of the GTA (including downtown Toronto). The patty itself if caramelized and crispy on the edges - it pairs well with the soft buttery bun it comes with. Perfect ratio of pickles and the sauce is delicious. The Poutine was also standout - crispy fries and a delicious gravy. The food is not overly greasy either. While we ate we sat at the table next to the Owner while he coached a group new restaurant owners. I'm told that this owner quit his job and started Fresh Burger out of his passion for making quality smash burgers. Great to see him sharing his knowledge! Holy cow - Best burger I've had in a LONG time! After hearing people rave about this place, I finally got myself out there to try it! I got the 4oz Fresh burger (comes with cheese) and fries. Love their burgers, ordered their #1 combo and upgraded fries to poutine. 1/4 pound of nicely grilled beef, free toppings with choice of lettuce, pickles, onions, tomatoes and cheese. Fries/poutine was a nice side, grab your pop from the front by the side of the service counter. I'm pretty sure they'd be regulars in Toronto's many "best burger" lists if they had a location south of Steeles. Apparently they're opening one at Yonge and Finch soon (according to their website) so I'm looking forward to that. IMO these guys are up there with Burger Priest. I love, love, LOVE Fresh Burger, and I'm not much of a burger person. Before I had Fresh Burger, my favourite burger place was Shake Shack. Now, it's a tie! It's pretty close to my workplace and I love the convenience of it. I can order online or through the app, customize my burger, and pay through my credit card. I also love that they show you the status of your order during the entire duration from when you're in line, to when it's being prepped, to when it's ready for pick up. I can quickly grab our offices' order and head back with minimal lunch time lost. If I'm dining in, I'll usually grab a thai iced tea from Nam next door. The burgers did go up in price from what I remember but it's 100% worth it. They are the perfect thickness and texture. So juicy! My go-to order is the 4oz fresh burger (add onions, bacon, and no cheese). The bacon is deliciously crispy! The fresh sauce brings everything together. It was quick to be made, tasted good, the fries were nice and thick, crunchy, nice amount of cheese curds and gravy. The right amount of food and decently priced. You can also get them as doubles. Fries. Poutine. Thy burgers come with cheese, tomatoes and lettuce. I got the prime burger with mushrooms ($1 extra) and loved it. Kinda fatty (but not so bad that it ran all over the place the prime must have less fat) burger so it was juicy and full of flavour. Hated the fries. Got them fresh from the deep frier but they were weirdly tough on the outside, not hard but tough. Hard to describe. Not how I like them but taste varies with everyone. Years after my first review and taking some criticism as why I didn't like the place; especially when I recommended the place to Americans that were having Shake Shack or In-N-Out withdrawals, I went back. Had to fast for the clinic, which by the way, I ended up going on the wrong day - probably from the need for food! What a vicious circle of food panic...FML. FB changed the colour of their sign from years ago and the place has doubled in size. They remodelled...it's ok. Reminds me of some of the new Harvey's places. OK...FB has good meats, fresh cut fries, all the standard fixings for one single price. Or you can just get the burger. Though they are busy, they do a good job getting the lunch crowd fed and away. I personally find the burger patty a little crumbly and salty. Also leaves the wax paper wet from the fat and juices - watch out or you might be wearing it back to work. BTW - fries are pretty good.
