About 4 years ago a few friends and I partnered together to learn about and invest in real estate. At the time, we were all about 25 years old and had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. We spent the first of those four years networking with other investors through meet-ups, visiting/evaluating deals, and meeting general contractors and real estate agents. We even eventually secured a hard money line of credit...a lot of common things beginners do to learn the real estate business. We weren't getting a lot of traction finding the right deals or direction for our business at first, so I sought more expertise through an alumni mentoring program run by some friends in a business club I was part of at DePaul - this is how I was introduced to Justin. Since meeting Justin, he has helped us and mentored us in countless ways; both in business and in life. From a business perspective, he's taught us everything we know about turnkey investments and trained us in his processes and business model. First, from giving us an opportunity to gain meaningful experience by letting us manage one of his own rehabs, to later getting us started on our own deals. He's done a great job of showing us the way and letting us learn on our own while helping us avoid the major pitfalls. I am on disability so I didn't have the extra money to repair the rental. The owner Justin has been a tremendous help in not only helping to repair one of our units out of his own pocket, but in finding a lawyer and putting up the money to litigate. Being out of state is scary in not knowing who you can trust. I think it is rare that a person shows integrity in the way Justin has treated myself and my family even after the sale.

So I paid the security deposit and the first month's rent. So I decided to go the day before I moved in, to clean the apartment. I saw a number of LIVING roaches in the bathroom and the kitchen. I was HORRIFIED! I decided to not get the apartment. I never spoke with the landlord, I always worked with 2 ladies in the office. One was nice but the other had an attitude after I decided not to move in due to the roaches.Thankfully, I got the first month's rent back but the landlord decided not to give me my security deposit back. I kept calling to try to talk to him about it but the lady who worked there got an attitude and told me that it is hard to find apartments in the city that have no roaches or rodents. If I would have known that I wouldn't have even looked with them. I will never rent an apartment from this company. BEWARE IF YOU DECIDE TO RENT WITH THEM. You can get a better apartment. I am very happy to say that I have a cheaper apartment, the same size, minus roaches and rodents.
