I recently purchased a new home and had to get a locksmith. I was referred to Charlie by Elf Locksmith - Elf being an Oak Lawn locksmith who received good reviews here on Yelp, but was unavailable due to a family emergency. Charlie fit me in the same day I called, and within about an hour he was done. He switched things around so it was a little more logical and had good suggestions for improving safety and convenience. He even saved me money - I was planning to replace all the locks and knobs but he suggested fixing and lubricating them instead. Now they work perfectly. All told, I got four doors (four knobs and three deadbolts) redone including a couple of new sets, plus all the keys I wanted, and it cost less than $200. We just bought a home and Charlie was absolutely amazing when it came to re-keying the property. We recently purchased a home and made an appointment with Charlie to change the locks. We decided the local locksmith (Morgan) is not worth our time, energy or money from all their horrible reviews and happened to stumble across Charlie's Lock & Key. Charlie's Lock & Key is a hidden gem in the Beverly, Evergreen Park, Oak Lawn area. Charlie gave us a call 15 minutes before heading over the day we closed to make sure we were home. We had previously mentioned we were interested in high security locks and when he arrived he took a look at our locks and explained a few different options. We decided to go with the high security locks and the price was reasonable. He went out to his truck and in about 20-25 minutes came back in with barrels, deadbolts and keys in hand and had the locks changed in about 15 minutes.
