We had the pleasure of working with YI for our son's therapy--once, around when our son was 6…read moremonths, and then a bit more than a year later (we had moved, and SARC assigned us to another agency, which we eventually went back to YI). The technician that was assigned to our son (the second time) noticed that he showed behavioral patterns that indicated SPD. Neither my wife nor I were familiar with this, and the tech suggested some resources for us to read and learn from (one of which was The Out Of Sync Child, which comes on an audiobook). I am always thankful for YI and that tech, as, until our son could officially be diagnosed (later diagnosed as autism), that tech integrated her therapy to be in line with children who have SPD. Unfortunately, SARC assigned another agency to our son (as he required many more hours, which YI couldn't meet; as well as other services that YI doesn't offer). That agency, among many other problems, didn't know (or bother to learn about) SPD. Fortunately, after pushing our Regional Contact for another agency (as well as asking to go back to YI, as, even though our son was getting fewer hours, those hours were FAR MORE SUBSTANTIVE than the new agency--in fact, he was REGRESSING with the new agency), the new agency (which could meet the new hour demands and other services) knew about SPD and their techs are trained about it.

Dr. Horton helped me in conjunction with a psychiatrist with my mental health. I seemed to have gotten increasingly better and better with the therapy and medications. We were clearly explained and included in the therapy, and CARD provided in-school therapy working with the teachers, in-home therapy as well as center based and "community" therapy where therapists went with us out in the world as our child interacted. We always had a clearly communicated plan and they were quick to adapt and evolve the plan as our son's needed changed and evolved. Our son learned skills here most importantly that can help him interact with the world. I'd recommend ABA and CARD based on our experience for sure.

We began aggressive ABA therapy and Caleb might be able to live independently soon. Every problem and issue we bring to light is taken care of as a team. We are consistent in all contacts with our son. At 3 yrs old Caleb would have 3+ hour tantrums, was echolalic, and no eye contact. CARD has been instrumental in his progress. While we have had little blips in the road (schedules that need to be adjusted, etc) overall my family is very thankful to CARD and their services. We have had so many therapists over the years - too many to thank, and it was good Becca use Caleb had to adapt to change. Our supervisor, Torie, is doing and excellent job in preparing Caleb to live independently. I'm happy to say that Patricia and her team have been incredibly helpful once again. In the past, Patricia helped me grow and develop so much insight. It's hard to find a counselor who genuinely cares and is as skilled as she is. I've tried many counselors in the area, but none compare to her techniques and experience. I started counseling about a year ago feeling lonely and empty, but Patricia took me out of that dark place. While I saw a few others as well, they were not as skilled as Patricia. I cannot thank Patricia enough for helping me find myself again after my relationship trauma. She has taught me valuable skills to be strong again, and I feel empowered because of her guidance. For insight on this, as well as to how she responds to criticism, take a look at how she responds to negative reviews on Yelp. She routinely hides behind her "Board of Directors" when it comes to any complaint. She commonly responds to concerns with statements like, "all decisions are made by the board" and "I have to ask the board" - however, public records show that she's the only director. It was a struggle to obtain any kind of billing records from her and her team as they were extremely unhelpful and uncommunicative. She was, however, happy to take almost $7000 from us. My family had to obtain therapy from a different, more reputable therapist because of the trauma went through with Patricia Chan. We considered reporting her but decided we wanted to wash our hands clean of the trauma and move forward with healing instead. If you're considering her services, please do your research and find a therapist with the right credentials for your individual situation. Understanding the differences between LCSW, LMFT and PsyD will be very helpful. UPDATE: I had photos of my receipts and her business name filing showing her being the only director. Patricia Chan got my photos deleted and responded to this review (in the third person - in all other responses, she responds directly). She's also using the "this person was never a client" excuse and (passive aggressively) claiming defamation. Again, she provided therapy for members of my family - not me directly - that I paid for. There are many situations where this might happen, including but not limited to: a parent obtaining therapy for a child; a child obtaining therapy for an elderly parent; etc. But I'm not surprised she used that excuse, as that was the same excuse that was made when attempting to resolve this issue at the time of conflict. There's also a difference between defamation and sharing a negative experience regarding interactions with a business - this is my honest review of my family's experience with Patricia Chan/LiveWell Therapy. I'm happy to provide copies of my receipts and emails (me communicating directly with Chan) for anyone else having issues with this business - feel free to message me.
