The website gave me the option of in person or video appointment. I picked the in person option and a couple days later I received my confirmation email confirming my in person appointment with the address of the facility. I also received some documentation that I completed prior to the appointment. On the day of my scheduled appointment I arrived 15 minutes early and was informed right at my appt time that there was a confusion and my consultation was over the phone. So unfortunately I did not get to see anyone even though I drove down there. Their location is very pretty and calming though.

This is the only therapist that helped me through child hood stress and trauma and used a body technique called "Energy Therapy" which were body tapping techniques and visualizing the actual traumatizing situation to over come it. He can't remove a memory but he can lessen the feeling attached to the memory so that it is not so painful or so it doesn't get in the way of your day to day life. Dr. Horton helped me in conjunction with a psychiatrist with my mental health. I seemed to have gotten increasingly better and better with the therapy and medications. He helped me to have a better understanding of my fathers death and mom mothers remarriage to my step dad. I remember feeling a sense of comfort and calmness after speaking to him bc he seemed genuinely interested in helping me and also accommodated an appointment to see me as soon as was possible. In person, about 2-3 days later. Because it was social anxiety, I knew I wanted to see someone in person. So we met in person. His office is plain and he had the word "believe". It was simple without distractions. I needed this, bc the days that followed were walking into this place of collapsing my thoughts and feelings. Tim's approach is simple and it's realistic. But it is only simple for the very reason: that Tim is extremely passionate about the subject and therefore knows it very well. Therefore going through the sessions you begin to learn concepts and in the process you begin to learn about yourself, your reactions, and how correction is possible. It's realistic / common sensical and when you realize this, you feel hope that change is possible. Hope is important, bc it's the right step to begin rerouting your thoughts, highs / lows and find a balance in life. Tim is passionate about this.
