A bark idea was the best decision we ever made for our Great Dane puppy. The crew there has been helpful with training and socializing him. He has been going since he was 3 months old and has learned so much and is so great with adults and children and other dogs. I was super nervous leaving our fur baby at doggy care but I couldn't imagine him being in better hands. The girls send updates on how he is doing and amazing/hilarious photos of him having a blast. We just got a new puppy and he will be starting next week. We also love that they are very on top of health records for all dogs to keep a safe environment and they are super on top of cleaning the pups play areas as well! This past weekend we boarded our 6 months old Chocolate Lab Rue and she had an absolute BLAST!!! As soon as we arrived she ran right inside ready to play. She is painting a picture that I misleading and it's up to you if you want to commit your time and money to someone without any accountability. The accounts shared by her are incorrect and in bad taste. She made me call her and follow up for appointments for weeks after initial 15m consultation. Nothing. If it wasn't a good fit then say it's not a good fit rather than book me and ghost. What an unprofessional exchange. We have two very adorable but very people-needy Cavalier King Charles, and had never boarded them before, but we were traveling and couldn't bring them and were lucky enough to be referred to Cami and A Bark Idea and are SO lucky that we did. I hate to say it but I think they have more fun there than they do at home; constantly walking, playing relaxing, getting love and they were able to help make huge strides with the puppy and her potty training as well as learning commands and general training. Hubble and I can't say enough great things about A Bark Idea & Cami, the owner. I recently discovered A Bark Idea on yelp and was impressed with the overwhelmingly positive reviews here and on her website. I reached out to Cami to schedule a few occasional walks and some training for a few of Hubble's bad habits and I heard back immediately. We arranged to meet up the following day and Hubble instantly took to Cami and her positive puppy training. I have been skeptical since rescuing Hubble that whoever I took him to wouldn't quite love him as much as I do. Cami is not only super patient, but treats and loves Hubble as if he is her own. During this time, she helped Lilo with her potty training, taught her to sit, shake, touch, and down and started with her leash training. Back in June 2020 my boyfriend I decided to get a rescue puppy (Duke) and I knew we should get a trainer asap! I was instantly was referred to Cami at A Bark Idea! Right away she was helpful with all sorts of tips and tricks and we scheduled a private session. Along with training Duke she guided us into being confident puppy parents as well. She constantly checks in and always assures us that if we stick to the training guidelines she provides and positive reinforcement, we will see results. Cami is absolutely amazing. I was having a hard time adjusting to my 8 week old Vizsla puppy- something I had been looking forward to for years. While I love working with dogs and was excited to train him, I realized that despite any prior knowledge, I realized that I definitely still needed some help! I did a board and train for a week with Cami and I could not be happier with how she worked with Charlie. She sent me updates daily so I could see how he was doing- and as a new puppy owner I was always anxious to check up on him. She made me feel totally at ease and I was thrilled with how happy he seemed to be there. Charlie came back to me with significantly better manners and tricks that helped both him and I bond a lot more. She introduced loose-leash walking which he has maintained fabulously and introduced his harness and leash in a positive manner so that he doesn't bite them every time I try to put them on. He jumped significantly less, knew how to go in his crate and on his bed on command, and his sit and stay with distractions was awesome! Not only that, Cami checked in on me both before and after the board and train to see how Charlie and I were doing. Even now if I still have questions she is always there help! Like so many others, we made the decision to add a "pandemic puppy" to our family since we were stuck at home with kids anyway. While our Ruby is sweet as can be, she's also a very anxious pup and lacked proper puppy socialization due to getting her at the height of quarantine and having to be kept home due to a stubborn case of giardia. My friend recommended and swore by Cami and after meeting her it was very evident that Cami knew her stuff and truly has an understanding of dogs. Ruby was "going to her bed" by the end of our first training and we learned little tweaks that we could make to help change and encourage better behavior. We also sent Ruby to a couple of days of daycare/training and 4 nights of board and train with Cami, and this helped with Ruby's socialization tremendously. Thanks to her, Ruby now enjoys and wants to play with other dogs and we can actually take her on walks without her barking at every man or dog that walks by. She also helped this anxious dog mom by sending me the most adorable pictures and videos while Ruby was away from me and with her. It's apparent that she cares about her clients (both furry and human) as she continues to patiently answer my texts with advice and suggestions on how to deal with certain anxious behaviors. Cami just brought home our 9mo poodle this past Sunday. She kept our pup for a week boarding and training to get us on the right foot with basics. She is now much calmer and better behaved. Mind you, Cami also spent time with us as a family when she brought our pup home. She really helped train us on how we need to behave to reinforce her good behavior. I will note, her style is positive reinforcement versus punishment. So if you are looking for a more punishment or dominance based technique she probably isn't your trainer. My dog LOVES cami and I love cami!! If I play a training video of them together and he hears her voice, he'll go running to the door and hope she's there. When I sent him to puppy day school, he would FLY out the door and into the car because he couldn't wait to go play with her and his new friends. Ive sent my puppy to Cami since he was 10 weeks and Cami and Kelsey are second mothers to him. They helped set structure and boundaries and he was a different dog when I picked him up from a board and train. Cami is an amazing dog trainer! She helped me integrate my new puppy with a more sensitive rescue dog at home. Previously, the older dog had attack any dog brought into the home, including puppies.
