God where do I start? I would rather not leave a review like this, but I have to, so any other potential customers know my experience. This company is the absolute worst experience I have ever had, and I'm 57 years old! The person who measured for my 12 window replacement estimate Lindsay, measured incorrectly. This caused the disaster from that point forward. When the installers came, the crew were unfriendly and appeared like they were hungover or on drugs. They noticed the error by Lindsay within the first 10 minutes. They told me that the windows could still be installed. However, it would require capping on the exterior due to Lindsay,s mismeasurements. OK, I thought, mistakes happen. I allowed them to move forward, and I proceeded to go to work for the day. I came back home 8 hours later to find the inside area totally trashed. Nails and insulation all over the floors of the apartment, a flat roof, and my driveway. I had to pick up approximately 30 nails as well as caulking and insulation on the carpeting inside my home and outside in the driveway ...I then proceeded to look at the windows that they installed? Oh my God! I have never in my life seen caulking so badly done. See pictures i have attached......Caulking not only unprofessionally applied, but on my walls, carpeting, and in the kitchen sink! Took me over three hours to clean up their mess.. My floors were trashed with mud and dirt.. .... I could go on to share how this company just simply does not care about quality, but this review would turn into a book. All I can tell anyone reading this is please think 3 if not 4 times before hiring this company because they quote you a price much lower than other window replacement companies. There's a reason! Good things aren't cheap and cheap things aren't good. Buyer beware! Cannot stress this enough....I wish now that I would have spent more money for the other companies who quoted me for window installation. This company has employees who couldn't care less about quality work. You get what you pay for. I would never, in a million years, recommend this totally unprofessional business. In addition, the windows themselves seem to be cheaply made. I already feel drafts coming in. Good luck to me if I have a warranty issue. What a huge disappointment. I am actually embarrassed that I made the decision to hire this company. I thought i was more intelligent than that. .....Whats worse is that after all the mess and the total unprofessionallism they created, they never even offered an apology. Again cannot stress enough to anyone looking for window replacements to be careful. Sometimes, you're better spending a little more for quality and professionalism. read more

Had 14 Windows installed in our home. They did an excellent job!!! Lindsay, Jason and the whole crew were absolutely the best! Professional, nice and good for their word. I wanted these special solar screens put in and they did that for me! I am SO happy and satisfied with their work and the customer service is out of this world, I feel very confident that if I ever need a callback for anything they will be there. I am so happy with their work we will be getting our basement windows from them as well. I would highly recommend them!!!!! Very happy with the windows and screens and it's only been a little more than a week of being installed but notice a difference already, winter time will tell more! We got 12 windows installed last week. They were able to install them a month earlier than expected. The price was good (it came to about $450 per window, we did full grids which is $30 per window). Installation was quick and professional. I'll come back to add a star after we've had them for a while if they hold up (it's the middle of winter, so obviously we haven't been opening them, etc.) read more

I bought five windows from A-Best. They were mis-measures, which simply means that they didn't measure a job correctly (first red flag) and so they sell these at a discount. Still, one would assume that if you pick them up from the factory, they'd be decent windows. The first problem with the sliders I purchased was that the top center drooped down a good, solid 1/4". I could live with that, with caulking and flashing, etc. But the real problem was that two out of the five I purchases have very bad leaks. I called their shop to see if they could help me figure out how to fix these leaks. I understand that with mis-measures, you're on your own, but still, as I said before, one should be able to assume that the windows don't leak. The guy at the shop was not helpful. I'm sure he was busy, but hey, if you don't want a negative review, maybe think about past customers and not current ones? Bottom line: 40% of the windows I bought had very bad leaks, and the customer service I received was just plain apathetic. read more

They did an impeccable install, left the area cleaner than it was when they arrived and the windows look fantastic. Our windows were installed today. We had a lovely in home assessment done by Lindsey, who was polite and happy to answer questions. The papers drawn up and the deposit (half the total) paid, we were warned it could be 8-10 weeks since winter is a busy time. Our windows were ready almost 3 weeks before expected and nature only caused a 1 week delay in the installation. A pair of workers came and had all the 4 windows we were doing removed in short order. The whole thing took only 2 hours. They were polite, efficient, friendly and made sure they worked as cleanly as possible. They left my home in good order and a much warmer one with these new windows in place. For the time, cost, and quality of service I'm giving 4 stars. There is a 20year warranty on my purchase, so I'll update if need be. read more

Asked for a quote to install windows and wanted to know how much the windows were to buy them. The owner came and I got both quotes, however my measurements were "supposedly" not correct and THE OWNER would not provide the correct measurements and specs for a formal quote to purchase the windows because he was scared I would shop around which I told him I've already done. How old are we? If you are confident in your products, services, and your business you should do everything you can to earn business not negatively impact it. Lost my business. We replaced several of the older windows in our house with new ones from A-Best and they work well. A really nice woman came out to our house, measured the windows, talked about options and told us approximately when they'd be ready to be installed. A neighbor needed some windows replaced too, so she did the same for them. The pricing was competitive and everything was simple. The windows took about a month longer to make than the original estimate and when they were installed, no one mentioned that they had to change out some wood trim on the outside which needed to be primed & painted. None of this was a huge problem. The windows were installed before it got cold, and we saw the raw wood after they left while we were checking out their work. I would have loved to at least prime the ends of the trim before they installed it but we have enough other work to do on the exterior next year that it really doesn't matter. We primed & painted it, and now we're ready for another Maine winter. The most important things were that they were measured correctly, they were exactly what was promised, and they fit well. I would definitely use them again if I needed to replace any more windows. They don't seem to do much with windows that have wood trim on the inside and I wouldn't count on their ability to give an accurate delivery date, but they did a good job at a good price and the windows are locally made. If you're shopping for windows, definitely think about getting a quote from them before you make a decision. read more

My wife and I got 5 or 6 quotes to replace our 23 windows. We got the best quote from A-B.E.S.T Windows. They were put in about a week ago and we discovered a caulking issue on a window. Instead of fixing the one window, the guys went over ALL of the windows to "make sure that we were happy". I gotta say that Jason, John, Jeff, Riley and Kyle did an incredible job (near perfect). The house is quiet now; and I'll bet the heating bill goes down about a grand this year. We are thrilled with the windows and very professional way the install went. Thanks guys. Very unprofessional experience getting a quote with their group. have yet to receive a response to my request for a quote. i had someone come out and measure and then nothing. no response. wont respond to my emails. if they act this way before they even earn your business, i can't imagine what their work is like. do not buy from them. read more
