They don't just buy stuff and stock it in the store. I saw one customer picking up a belt that had been repaired and another who'd purchased jewelry but needed it to be adjusted. The guy kept taking it to the back and working on it and bringing it back to her until it fit as she like. I also was interested a bracelet that I couldn't fit and somehow he was able to heat and bend it into a shape so that I could. There was only one person working that day, the owners husband. He was so patient and made suggestions based on what he thought I would like and not just the highest priced item in the store. Also he knows how to back off and let you browse on your own but is always near if you have questions or need help. They also can do orders via phone by video chat or sending you photos of the items and will ship.

Austin's did a wonderful job; my ring was returned in perfect condition and now fits perfectly. I also received my ring back within a reasonable time frame (only 5 days) as I was also concerned that I might have to leave my ring there for 10-14 days. I can't recommend Austin's highly enough. The stock number he gave me for filters was incorrect, so I measured and ordered from Amazon. They fit. I tried again to get the correct stock number from him recently so I could do business locally. Once again it was incorrect and he told me the Amazon ones were wrong (which they weren't). I insisted they fit and the number he gave me was wrong. He insisted I was wrong stating that the floor model that matched mine had the filter he was recommending. Turns out he was wrong. I went in, took the filter with the stock number he recommended and it was not the same as the floor model he had told me matched mine. In an effort to continue to do business with him I suggested he credit me the cost of a couple of filters. He refused since I had not bought from him before. I now go to Spa Tech here in Cruces. They are great, are interested in being helpful and in having my business. Avoid Discount Pools and Spas.

Just tell them exactly what you need; have them write it down and take a copy of those instructions with you. Not that I don't trust them. I do. But I have taken nice pieces of jewelry to other places for repair and learned my lesson. If you want a stone tightened and it resized...get the instructions in writing and a timeline for return. I take a photo of what it looks like when I drop it off. I am not paranoid. I am just VERY careful about my jewelry because so much of it is heirloom items. My class ring got all bent up and had to be resized. Inside the ring is my name and I did not want to lose that. I explained all this to them. It came back perfectly sized and reshaped and my name still intact inside. I could not have been happier. I am not in the market for any jewelry so i didn't look at their inventory.
